This app was underwhelming, and not helpful. It offered common sense platitudes that were of no help. I did not cancel 24 hours before my subscription was set to renew and I got to pay $60 for a month of something I don't find useful. I did try to get a refund (Wouldn't access in November, didn't want to pay for November - no dice.) I think the majority of revenue will be one month members and missed cancelations. Rockey Money may end up causing problems here.
Reviews for Liven: Discover yourself
← Back to Liven: Discover yourselfThis is way too expensive!!!!! If I can give 0 I will but I can't. I paid $19.99 to try this app then 3 months later they charged me for $99.99. I contacted costumer service to please end my subscription and a refund of the $99.99 as I am dissatisfied with the app. They replied on the ending of subscription but not the refund. So I contacted them if it means that I'm subscribed for the year or... and no respond to that either. Customer service sucks and this experience only added to my issues.
Waste of money. I was excited and motivated to get some useful lessons and insights, but what you get is pretty basic. You'd be better off watching free YouTube videos about procrastination. I used it for a few days and was so underwhelmed that I totally forgot about it for a month and ended up charged another $40 on top of the introductory $20. My fault, but a notification or email reminder about the renewal would have been nice, especially since the target audience is not well organized...
Deceitful, deceitful!!! They took my 19.99 up front for 3 months, then as soon as I entered the app they asked for more money. I was unable to go beyond that point without agreeing for a specific rate or a 3 month trial to the tune of $7.99/wk. I did not continue, but I want my 19.99 back. One of the things they were going to teach was how to lower stress and anxiety....well, they just boosted my stress 200 fold!!
Meh. I didn't find much value in this app. I took the test online through an Instagram ad and was initially interested. After paying the $29.99 subscription fee and opening the app, I wasn't impressed. A log of my mood, some general reading, and then a 20-minute feeling exercise. I got a check-in email about 7 days in and I'm happy that I decided to click on the link to find out that my $29.99 per month subscription was renewing at $60 per month. I was able to cancel without being charged $60.
I began the process, which was advertised as no charge until completed. While taking the test, I felt it was getting too ridiculous so I exited out. I just discovered I've been charged for three months of service for which I did not register. They ask for payment process upfront, so you get charged even if you do not complete the transaction. I don't even have this app installed on my phone because I never completed the transaction. Please Beware!!!! Predatory!!!!
Steer clear of this app!! Not only did it seem pretty lackluster once I got going with it, it continuously crashed pretty quickly after starting the lesson plan. After reaching out to Liven and uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing was ever resolved. Customer Support advised me that I would have to go through Google Play for a refund and unfortunately despite explaining what happened, I was only granted a small portion of what I paid.
Honestly, I don't even understand what this is supposed to be. I'm fairly techy and normally I get right into the swing of things. But this is just.... Mini lessons of stuff? Fun quizzes telling me things I already know? Free content I can get on the Internet but at a staggering price? Sure there are some goal settings and stuff but I have that on other apps for a FRACTION of the price. What a disappointment.
They say their June 3, 2025 update was a minor fine-tune to keep the experience smooth and enjoyable. I was halfway through an 8-week course when their 'update' removed the course without warning and without a similar replacement. This fine-tune was a near complete redo of the app, and for me was neither smooth nor enjoyable. No advance warning, no attempt to correct. My lesson learned? Be careful not to get too invested in the content of the app, because it can go away at any time. #burned
Such a crock! Subscribed for a 7 day free trial and got charged $104.99 immediately. Provided feedback in the app and received an email apologising that they didn't clearly explain how I would be charged after the trial - when my complaint was about being charged before I'd trialled the app at all, hadn't even used it for 5 minutes! The kicker refund needs to be applied for through google play, is under review and could take 4 business days!
I signed up for a trial for $19.99, I canceled it after a day because it wasn't what I needed. I was charged 2x by the app under 2 slightly different names for the trial. I've canceled, I can't access the features yet I've been getting billed for this 2x a month for the past several months. Seems like a well designed scam so people don't realize they are being charged.
For an app that tries to help with "focus" it's extremely predatory. I was busy as hell but the marketing seemed on point, so I got a few weeks for $20 to try it. I couldn't start right away, but the clock only starts when I first log in and activate my account right? Nope. the next month I get billed over $40 with an unapproved automatic renewal. I never even logged in to be able to authorize (or even see this was going to happen). Scammed me for over $60!
The recurring fee is difficult to cancel, and jacks up really high after the promotional period. Also, they use a payment processor that obscures the charge, so you don't even know what to cancel. It feels like it preys upon the ADHD mindset, and I also haven't really found it useful, the readings are pretty basic and can be found for free.
I did the 7 day free trial and did not like it on day one so I cancelled the subscription. The next day I was charged almost 60 dollars. This makes no sense to me and now hoping they will give me a refund as the product just wasn't for me but they felt my money was for them which is sad. Edit----They were quick to respond to my email and guided me through getting the refund after being very kind. I appreciate that in a business!
I barely made it 30 seconds into the "setup" process before my internal scam sniffer when off. the set up process is nothing more than data collection and marketing. yeah, you made the app with behavioral therapists, but not how to help them. Oh, but there's an immediate discount if you try and close the app! So scummy and predatory on those probably desperately seeking help.
I signed up for a 6month subscription, asked to cancel it no more than 5 minutes later (long story, it's not something I've ever had to request). They could've been decent humans and just charged me for a month to cover whatever processing fees they'd incur by issuing a refund. I work for a subscription business where we value customer relationships; this company gives zero F's and makes zero exceptions. Buyer beware and take your money to one of the many competitors with better ratings.
The whole premise of this app is great until they prey on your inner weaknesses and after asking all the initial start-up questions it goes right into purchasing their plan. I had a feeling this was going to happen as they kept putting in plugs of how this is 2x better than this and 83% more likely than that. Yes it's a free trial but you have to enter credit card info so IMO that's not legit free.
This started great, with the first 5 lessons having an audio option. Allowing you to listen to them instead of reading them. After lesson 5 it's reading mode only. This was not disclosed and I feel very misleading. As someone with ADHD and a very busy lifestyle, this audio option was crucial for me to potentially be able to complete my lessons. Very disappointed, canceled my subscription immediately.
Feels like a scam. after spending an hour looking through the app, I decided it wasn't that useful for me. I specifically remember unsubscribing and opting out of the auto renew, thinking the trial period would just run out. Today, I find I've been charged over $40 a month for the last 3 months. They refunded me one month, but refused any more. I'm pretty disappointed and feel like this was a shady ploy to take advantage of people trying to help themselves.
You cannot edit a journal entry after saving it- so if you want to add something you can't. i also don't find very helpful the way you log your mood, as the options are very limited for 'what are you doing', 'who are you with', 'where are you'. The app seems to be very early days and too expensive to have bit been properly tested.
