Great content on the platform, but there are many streaming issues. Constant buffering, audio/video not in sync most of the time, the inability to start a live program from the beginning or anywhere between the beginning and the live feed. I do love the ability to play videos without having to stay in that screen. It definitely appeals to those of us who are always multitasking in other apps and windows. Please fix the streaming issues and I will gladly come back to change my review to 5 stars!

Wow, this is horrible to watch the show I paid for on. Video and voice keeps going out of sync. No 15 or 30 second advance/rewind feature either. I'm sorry but if the screen/voice sync issue isn't fixed soon I'm demanding a refund. There is no reason for it to keep going out of sync, step up your game!
I love the fact that there is another video platform besides YouTube but there are constantly audio/video glitches. From the audio not being synced to the video, to the video glitching and pausing constantly throughout an entire video. Besides that it's a good app but those issues can make the videos you want to watch simply unbearable to watch.
This app doesn't get any better with any update. No matter what show you're trying to find, it's never where it belongs. Nothing is in order. Not on the phone or TV. When you try to find live shows, they're always in some random place, never on the actual channel you're looking for. There's no actual way to pick the channels you want to always be where you want them. As if nobody actually uses the app at Rumble/Locals.
For the most part it is good. But anytime I have a video over 60 seconds it says it can't upload. The messaging option which is great sometimes does not work. The app I have had to reinstall it a few times because it stops working. For a thing that I pay for not very good. If it was free then be better I guess. Overall I love the group I am in and that is why I deal with the other stuff.
The app runs slightly better than the desktop site from my experience, has a fairly conventional and easy to use interface and it's nice being able to listen to videos with my phones screen off. Over all if you like locals as a platform the app is pretty handy. Edit: unfortunately I have to change my review due to one issue that keeps happening. The app if left open with your screen locked will randomly start playing videos in your pocket. That's completely unacceptable.
At the moment I use this app as a consumer rather than a content creator, though that is the goal eventually. so far I love their stance for freedom and the app is functional. however, it does have some areas of needed growth. Large streams tend to get severely buffered with audio falling out of sync. To be fair, they are growing a lot and have experienced a huge influx of traffic so it's hard to keep up. My score is 3 out of 5 now, I will raise it as the app improves.
Loved the app! Free speech, great channels. Easy usability. Video play was always an issue. Had to fight it if I wasn't on wifi. I heard the update sucked so I held off, but they forced the update last night and I can see why people didn't like it. Can't find anything. One wrong swipe and you're in somewhere random. Extra tabs. It reset my settings, so I had to figure out the extra steps to reset them. If video play isn't any better, not sure if I'll keep it.
I support this mobile app because I support the platform in principle (free speech without big tech censorship). That said, the video streaming/compression algorithm is horrible. This app burned through 3.6Gb of mobile data in less than 75 minutes, listening to a video with the screen off. A significant ehancement would entail allowing the end user to select bitrate/video quality. Another would be to automatically lower bitrate to low quality when the end user's device screen is turned off.
I have subscribed and purchased . Content is good! Quite a number of bugs! 1. Videos will not continue to play while the device is in off mode. For example; YouTube will continue to play, when I turn off my device and place it in my pocket. 2. The app does not allow you to rewind during a live event. 3. Videos will not work smoothly when going from one source like Wi-Fi or another Wi-Fi zone or when data stream can access through 5G. 4. The app doesn't appear to use too much memory for swapping
Used to really love the app, I pay to support the channels I watch & now I can't get through 5 mins of a video before it goes black & I have to get out of the app, come back in & start over. It's continuous. Hard to navigate & find what I'm looking for, too. THEN today, I come to watch a couple videos the group I support, posted,& it's saying I can only watch if I'm a supporter! My pymt comes out monthly, already has been paid for this month & will automatically renew in June!! What's going on?
App rotates with screen even when rotation is off in OS, this is infuriating, every time I pick up my phone I have to wait for the screen. it's nearly impossible to skip forward and back, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. Trying to scan through a video, there's is no indication of where you're at on the scroll, it doesn't show you the time your at.
As much as I love the idea of Locals, the app is nearly unusable. It constantly resets while I'm listening to a podcast. At best, I have to open it back up, scroll down to the podcast again, restart it. Sometimes, it also loses track of where I was, forcing me to try scrolling back and forth in the recording to find where I was at.
The player randomly stop playing and loses were I left off so I have to find it. It is also a data pig: it's the reason why we need "unlimited " data plans now. And if you're in a weak coverage area don't bother trying to use this app. Being able to download video on wifi to listen to them when I'm not on wifi would be nice. Why can no one, other than YouTube, make a video player that just works???? On YouTube I can pause and rewind Livestreams, why can no one else do that?
Not easy to use, the search feature is, essentially non functional. I searched for an interview with Megan Kelly on Triggernometry and it has no record, even though there are at least 2 interviews. You better hope what you want to watch/listen to are on the first page because you're highly unlikely to find it otherwise. Bought $90 worklth of coins and feel ripped off.
Can get content but needs work. Somewhat frustrating to use. Running on a Chromecast 4K. Slow to navigate and show content. Audio falls out of synch and video sometimes jumps to catch up (but it's still often out of synch). Doesn't always update the cache of videos on a page, and you'll click to play a video and get a swirly. When resuming a vid, especially after switching back to the app, audio plays but video is black. Good: Improvement in seeing what you watched already and resuming videos.
The app has a lot of potential. It's full of great ideas but it has some major problems. During playback videos won't play in the background consistently and will sometimes randomly start playing when you don't want them to. Trying to watch something live is always a problem. Audio is always out of sync and at times the video won't load or it will cut out in the middle of watching.
It's been alright for the most part. But.... there's been a time or two where it'd log me out and not let me log back in unless I deleted the app and downloaded again. And now, I paid $21.00 for some coins (thru the app), that appear on my bank statement and on my Google store purchases, and the locals app says I have zero coins. Don't know why, it's irritating though. Overall 3.5/5... but there's a couple issues they need to work out
This app is in need of a serious features upgrade. The video player is horrible. No pop out, no playing in the background, no pausing or rewinding a live broadcast. Needs major work, especially as it's hosting some major names with huge audiences. Recent update, now the program hangs and never loads. Constantly sending me notifications, but I can't open the program.
