App and service is useless. Chargers were installed at my apartments 4 months ago and they just barely got enabled. Once I installed the app I got nothing but errors on just about every screen. Error messages even contain typos. It's almost like this company doesn't want to succeed.
Reviews for Loop EV Charger
Terrible experience trying to charge at a US Bank location. App installed, but it didn't work. Randomish error messages at the charge station. A waste of time on a cold day when I was already low on charge.
This app is worthless. I've tried to create an account so i can use the charger about 20 times. I keep getting an error message. It just keeps saying "unknown error." Customer service is a joke. No one is available to help, just a chat bot. i got an email about 30 minutes later telling me that they "escalated the situation." Hours later i get an email saying that i need to try to create my account using a different email. So i tried again and the same error message. Its pointless.
Does not work great for Android. The QR code scanner does not work with my camera (though other QR code readers work fine with my camera).
Got the home charger about a year ago. They advertised it as a "smart" but I've never been able to link it to my account or app. when I contacted customer support originally I was told its a temporary issue and to use it as a "dumb" charger it in the mean time. it has not been over a year and still no resolution and customer support won't even provide and ETA for a fix.
Often just doesn't work and the chargers won't accept a credit card, leaving me unable to charge my car
App fails repeatedly, customer service says guest mode is broken. Unable to create an account, unable to charge.
The session fee often makes using these Level 2 chargers as expensive as using a DC fast charger on another app, which defeats the purpose of using a public Level 2 charger. Also over half the time I've tried to use a Loop charger it was either out of service, wouldn't start charging, or the QR code sticker has been peeled off so it couldn't be scanned.
The verdict is still out. The app was a little glitchy. The first time that I was able to plug and start charging, I walked away from my car and when I reopened the app to check it, it said that the session had been deactivated. I went back, messed with the charging station a bit, got it to start charging again and this time it stayed charging. At one point when I tried to open the app it had signed me out. In the end, I was able to charge, despite the app being a little glitchy.
The app is not bad, but it will randomly overcharge you by miscalculating the amount of kWh you actually used by like double sometimes. Tap to pay on the chargers doesn't ever work, so you have to scan the QR, which is slow and can be a security risk. The chargers have long cables with manual wraps that nobody puts back. The system does a $5 hold, which clutters your statements and is a bit annoying.
