Reviews for Magic Earth Navigation & Maps

After the update (May 29, 2023) it became too slow to use. Tried it again in June 2024 and it improved a lot, however after the latest updates (June 2025) the recorded videos don't have sound even when copied to my personal photos folder. This to me is unacceptable: my privacy my choice, regardless of the reasons the company may invoke to restrict access to sound, it should be my choice to record with or without sound. I am sure the videos are recorded with sound and its access is restricted.

I like the app look and feel but there are couple of issues. 1. App doesn't calculates on the route travel time in the beginning on basis of congestion on the roads real-time. Instead it continues to increase time to react at destination on the way which gives a wrong information of your arrival at the first place. 2. App switches to night mode automatically in the evening once and then after 30 mins or so it again switches back to day mode using Android Auto.

Prevously rated as 4 stars because overall it's a very good navigation app. The irritation for me is the huge size of the map updates. My wifi is high speed but after waiting an hour for only half the update for England mapping to download I gave up and cancelled the download. Another gripe is that when you have dowloaded maps but don't need them, you can't delete the maps and you have to delete the app and reinstall with .aps that you need.

I would give this a 5-star rating, but unfortunately there are some features missing that would take it all the way to the top. I think it has Apple Carplay, but no Android Auto. That's a big one. Where I live, it doesn't show the exit to take, only that I should exit in 'x' miles. The UX/UI could use some cleaning up. Other than these three, it's an awesome GPS that can one day replace Waze.

Seems like a good application. But i noticed that there no way to report that a name of a specific location is wrong are that you can help to enhance the map by adding location names and type to the map. If you add this feature, you will enhance the map further more. And i noticed that for the Caribbean Netherlands map the map is not completely updated.

Thanks for the fully free, ad-free app but it's lacking very useful features so badly. For example, there is no way automatically dowoad all the medium location maps when you are starting building directions to the very remote place. It's very useful when you are in the plane, flying, and wanted to know where exactly are you now.

Fantastic app. Speed and speed limits showing up clearly on Android Auto, nice, customizable speeding alerts, not just when navigating, but also when cruising. Also showing upcoming pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, and nearby parking. Offline use/maps, and no subscriptions. In short, it has all the features that Google Maps, GO, Waze, Navigation and a whole bunch of other GPS apps I tested so badly lack.

So far so good and NO ADS! Yay! I need an offline Android Auto compatible nav app. A real user manual would be great. What's really missing is a non-workaround method to save, load and re-edit trips, ideally on a desktop. You can save and then import a GPX track, but the entire track becomes a single un-editable node. Unfortunately Support is non-responsive. Six weeks since I emailed them with no reply (despite an auto-response saying someone would get back to me).

Love this app and it's only gotten better with time. The heads up display is wonderful at night and the dash cam works as well as many stand alone products at any price, and this is free. Only minor quibbles are the overheating issue when trying to use driver assist ai, and difficulty in locating and managing recorded dashcam video (I've found it much easier to use a file explorer to manage vids than trying to do it in app).

Only just installed it and played around with it. So far so good. The elevation feature is awesome. Very important when driving an RV. An RV profile would be nice to avoid dead ends etc. Maybe even show alternate routes with lower elevations. The gas station feature would be better if you could specify fuel type. Showing only stations with diesel would be great.
