I've tested a bunch of language learning apps and I'd say Mango is one of the better ones. The lessons are engaging and the speech recognition is a nice touch. It's not as comprehensive as some of the more expensive apps, but for a free download it packs a lot of value. The main downside is the ads, which can get old after a while. But if you don't mind that, it's a great way to start picking up a new language on your own time.

Description

I’ve been using Mango Languages Learning for a couple months now. It’s basically a language learning app that makes it pretty easy to pick up new languages. The app covers tons of languages – everything from Spanish and French to Mandarin and Arabic.

Here’s what you do: there are interactive lessons where you learn vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and cultural stuff all at the same time. It’s got little games and activities to keep you engaged. And the speech recognition feature is actually pretty cool – it listens to you and gives feedback on your pronunciation. Takes some getting used to but it’s helpful.

Look, if you’re into learning languages, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does a solid job of making language learning more fun and accessible. Worth checking out for sure.

I've been using Mango for nearly 10 years through my library. I could not recommend it more. I compare it to Pimsleur, which I also enjoy, but with the addition...

Not only teaches you the language, but also gives you cultural insights as well. Also, takes time to explain why you say the phrases the way they are! I did...

The app is very simple. I'd say it's lacking in features. It'd be nice to at least have an option to type the answers. That being said, the app teaches...
