Reviews for MapQuest: Get Directions

Interface isn't intuitive. Adding stops is a complicated process, especially when trying to add a destination between the starting point and the final destination. Searching for categories of businesses yields points on the map that must be manually clicked and cycled through, rather than a list that can easily be navigated. Recalculating when deviating from the route is slow. The app will often think the user has deviated from the route when he hasn't, resulting in erroneous recalculation.

Downloaded the app just now. After entering direction & starting a voice navigation, it sounded as a dying human in last min of her life, too slow speaking speed, scary deep voice, barely able to pronounce a single sound... Originally wanted a map to calculate gasoline consumption. This app was offering it but after spending @ least 40 min. to make it work, following given instraction, I couldn't find find that future. If this app can't make my life easier, why make it harder ? Uninstalling.

Good application! Really needed it to come through! First, as you drive it didn't keep up well and you can actually pass the street before it calibrates to keep up. Second, after you hit the stop it has no feature to check off the stop and move to the next! You just have to keep moving but then the address bar on top is stuck at the previous turn signal. It was disappointing and very frustrating I have to say. Not ready yet for civilian use in my opinion.

Using android, it is not self explanatory how to save your route, with multiple stops. I don't want to re-plug it in everytime I move out of your app. I also want to print my directions and have searched your help section but see only help for printing from a browser only, not from the app? This is just my frustrations having downloaded your app 20 minutes ago. I realized I needed to create an account through my laptop. Went to log in to my android phone and the app does NOT have a way.

This is an update. I originally gave it only one star due to installation issues. The app seems to work pretty well when Google maps fails. Still a little slow at times : It will tell me to turn at a street that I just passed, for example. Other than that, a pretty good app. Also, the "female" voice giving audible directions could be a bit more pleasant sounding.

This is definitely my preferred navigation app, especially now that my job requires me to go to different locations. There are a few addresses that the app doesn't seem to think exist, so I had to download a second app to get to them (but it's not as easy to use as MapQuest, so I won't be using it for anything else). And I do wish that when you rotate your phone, the screen would split vertically rather than horizontally between the directions and the map like it used to.

Not as good as the website. Does not offer to rearrange stops to maximize time. Says can't calculate route when attempting to manually alter stops to save time. Wish there was an option to save routes. We are planning a cross country road trip to hit the national parks, I tried the website and really thought we had found our trip planner. Guess we will have to keep looking for a better app.

Constant problems with this app. Am always afraid I'm going to see "Route failed" when I've no idea where I am. Managing favorite places, on which I rely heavily, is impossible. Can't figure out to edit them, can't sort their order at all, and half the time it takes me 5 minutes just to find how to add a new one. This could be a lot better.

First time using the app and it's good. Got me where I needed to be with no issues. I like the themes that represent me on the map, I used the sneaker. I also like the filters of restaurants, gas stations, etc that are handy. Would love see an android auto app. That's probably the one thing keeping me from using full time. Also the theme of the app is kind of dry, could use some refreshing. Other than it's already a solid replacement of google maps. Try it out.

I used to love this ap as I found it easier to navigate with and simple to set up. Now sometimes it is blocked over by ads, etc. Making it impossible to use. Could another map ap be doing that such as google maps? I am back to using and it is much easier. We moved to a different state and once it found out "home", I love it. Addendum: Sometimes we overshoot our destination and lose map directions. Have to look up address and re-enter to find the place (in the country).
