So here's my take on Markup R-XP. I've tested a bunch of markup apps and this one's pretty solid. The automatic grid/symbol detection works really well, which is a huge time-saver. And the markup tools are intuitive once you get used to them. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some other apps, but it covers the basics really well. Probably not the best choice if you need advanced features, but if you just want a simple way to annotate patterns, this is a pretty good option.

Cons

  • UI can be a little clunky and not the most visually appealing
  • Doesn't have super advanced features like some other markup apps
  • Occasional bugs or crashes, especially with larger chart files

Description

Been using Markup R-XP for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you mark up and annotate any kind of stitch chart or pattern. Pretty solid app if you’re into needlework and crafts.

Here’s what you do: you can load in a PDF or image of a chart, and Markup R-XP will automatically detect the grid, symbols, and colors. And then you can use the markup tools to highlight, circle, and make notes right on the chart. There’s also a photo feature – you can take a pic of a physical chart and it’ll work the same way. Took me a while to figure out all the tools but they’re pretty useful once you get the hang of it.

Look, if you’re into cross-stitch, knitting, or any kind of needlework, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a simple way to mark up your patterns.

I love this app. It allows me to import any grid/graph/pattern and be able to mark it off. I tried others but they only supported certain designers. Markup R-XP lets...

Takes forever to load. The zoom is very touchy. Shuts off for no reason. Worst thing is when you select a symbol - it does not highlight all of that...
