This app sucks. You have to pay for everything, from sending messages to seeing who likes your profile to being able to set preferences about who you would like to match with. The distance filter doesn't work, and I was shown profiles from people two and three hours away, and even in other states.
When you get the daily email notices and click on someone of interest the app opens to some random person that you can open swipe left or right. The person in the email is no where to be found making the emails worthless. More a majority of the people in the emails haven't logged in for months or no longer active. Terrible "improvements " to the app.
Paid $119 for 6 months, just to swipe left & right, click on like button, but that’s just the start. The app constantly pushes for more payments — $214 to see who's viewed you, extra to boost your profile view or message/connect to profiles in highlights. Even filtering by serious daters costs more. Matches feel absolutely generic, and ghosting is common. It’s designed to drain your wallet, not help you find a match. Avoid unless you're ready to spend hundreds more just for basic features.
Unfortunately I have come to despise this app. Every time I touch something it sends off a like or super like or swipes it to a like that I never intended and there's no way to retract it. Very user UNfriendly. No longer can you make phone contact to talk to a real person. And the help center is useless. Not at all what used to be in the old days where you could at least talk to someone and try to figure out how to use the app appropriately. Too many add ons and very confusing now.
Scam City! No problems with the match app, but it is chock-full of fake profiles. Red flags: There will be only one or two pictures and the person in the photo looks younger than their stated age, there's almost no information in the profile, they're very complimentary, and they ask for your phone number in the first few messages. I've actually seen a couple of times where the same deep dive answer is on different profiles, verbatim. If you have the slightest doubt about a profile, report them!
The app is glitchy as hell, it takes a long time to load anything past like the first 2 or 3 profiles, then it spazs out on what it loads next. Like it tries to load a profile and blinks away, sometimes you get a glance, sometimes it might load enough to let you begin looking through a profile's photos, then the profile is ripped away from you.
It's just another social manipulation app with its own bias system that lies to you to get you to spend money on a product that doesn't want you to find love. I know notifications can be turned off, but this app sent me 40 emails in a 24-hour period, absolutely ridiculous, also every single email was an advertisement to waste your money on the app.
I paid for a month long subscription thinking this app would be more serious than the others out there and I regretted it shortly after. The algorithm ignores your deal breakers and the profiles on here are terrible. I'm convinced the algorithm got worse once I paid. There should be more info required on a profile before allowing it to be shown to save people time. An age and 1 photo is not sufficient. This has been the worst app and now I feel stuck using it to try to get my money's worth.
Edit: July 2025: Worse than ever, dont bother. full of bots and a complete money scam. you can message people. and be messaged, but to view its behind a 30-something dollar pay wall. I have paid for dating apps in the past. They all work the same way, this is just the most expensive and disappointing. They claim to have the largest database of singles. But Im not dumb enough to shell out 30 bucks to find out.
Lots of fake profiles and not quality people. I expected Match to have some standard. Super bummed I paid for it! Should be free because there is nothing extra you get with it that you wouldn't get from the free apps. Anyways, total let down but then you're stuck because you paid. I will not be renewing my subscription or get on here again. I tried!
