Kept giving me wrong information regarding part numbers for my vehicle. Unreliable same as many other ai helpers out there. Some necessary features such as diagrams locked behind monthly paywall. Not ready for prime time.
Reviews for MECH AI: Diagnostic & Repair
← Back to MECH AI: Diagnostic & RepairHas anyone had any luck with the VIN lookup portion? Entered 3 different VIN numbers (US) and kept getting "Provided VIN not found." Is this only available with a subscription service? Updated to 4 stars (for now): They reached out fairly quickly, which is always a plus, but when entering the VIN number, it said, "Provided VIN not found." I tried with 2 other VIN numbers (meticulously entered them), and the same result: Provided VIN not found. I don't know if it is a bug, but VIN doesn't work
you get 5 "messages" and the AI is obviously programed to ask 5 useless questions so you have to buy more messages.
for the most part very informative but some information is left out when actually using it to try and do a timing job. But maybe i didn't pay for the right subscription. Images or diagrams would be nice. Easy to use for basic repairs
what an awesome app! My sisters 92 Subaru had this qwerk where it would die randomly and wouldn't start again for an hour or more. but it would pull start every time. I stumbled upon this app and told it everything she had already done to it. mechAI took me step by step to figure out the issue. needless to say I am a happily paying subscriber. Well worth the monthly fee. good job guys!!
This app is INCREDIBLE! I've tried a couple of other A.I. apps, and this one is the only one I've found that has given me correct, detailed information on 2 separate issues I've had with 2 separate vehicles of mine. I'll spare you the details of the problems i was having. I will tell you I was able to solve both my issues tonight after work and before dinner time! if you ask my wife, she will tell you that is very rare 😏 and it's was thanks to this app!
my experience with this app has been the difference maker, with only having grade 3 or 4 experience in engine work i was able to rebuild my engine from engine coils and up .(4.7l V8) Ask detailed questions Questions about the name of a part AI never got it wrong After asking it a lot of questions resets are ok Explain what parts are installed and what parts need to be yet after reset 1.watch you tube videos on the step/part 2.AI mechanic conversation 3. refer to engine Manuel. 4.Proceed
only pitfall is only being able to choose one option. so for example I choose 'B' take note but want to compare to what option 'A' or 'C' has to offer. Being unequivocal does not breed scope to other possible solutions. must have a choice to choose all options. Not just the one.
This app is like nothing I've ever encountered. So detailed, diagnostics take you through all possible problems through step by step eliminations. Repairs are easily understandable, broken down into smaller steps that also list exact tools (and their sizes) or other items that will be needed. Each step you know where what you need to work on is located, what you need to fix it and how to get that done!! AWESOME!!
This app is amazing! you get a diagnosis on whats wrong with your car, along with much detailed info on how to do the repairs! I love it!
This is way more than generic AI garbage. it has so much to offer. If you like tech and turning wrenches, click download.
wish I could get the premium app but I was able to fix misfire in cylinder 1 and install spark plugs all on my own with this app, it saved my sanity and my hair from turning grey from the stress. thank you 🙏
I'd give this app 500 stars if I could. Extremely well laid out, helps you diag if you're stumped and finds the relevant repair information and lays it all out in one convenient place pretty much instantly. I've tried multiple domestic, Asian, and European vehicles and thus far have not had any issues.
This App is AMAZING!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE - MECHANIC OR NOT! Walks you through EVERY step...tells you what tools and parts you need, as well! LOVE THIS APP!! I will never be without it!!!
After trying out the free version, I said please take my money , I upgraded my subscription to the $8 membership, This is a must have App if you're new to Auto Repair
Ai needs work. I asked a parts question and then I asked a follow-up question and it had no idea I was on the same subject...within 45 seconds of the initial question! It likely has a ton of info, but getting to it may be improved.
I've been working on my vehicle for 6 months I've been using your app for about two I want my money back your AI has been blatantly lying to me the entire time and it cost me a severe amount of time and money. and I have the receipts to prove it. I look forward to your email so I can send you these pictures. I'm so flipping pissed off right now
No, it's not MechWarrior video game where you fight AI opponents ... it's hands down the best DIY Auto Mechanics phone app out there. It is my "go to" for diagnosing and doing repairs on my vehicles. Free version is awesome, Pro well worth the money is doing a project. For an independent car mechanic or DIY'er, nothing else competes. Mech AI is the best!
I've been dealing with a difficult to diagnose CEL, mechanics wouldn't listen to me, dealer service centers wouldn't listen to me. Nobody would help, I spent quite a bit of money trying to solve it. The CEL was intermittent and didn't stick around long. I lost hope until this AI and I bounced ideas back and forth. Helped me diagnose and confirm with utmost accuracy what was causing it. I believe this AI shows promise to anyone who wants to keep their car in good shape. Thank you Devs.
This is the future we need. I work as a mechanic for a reputable world wide company. Got the app to see the potential. It's been able to correctly diagnose the exact problem first. Also gives me other possible issues to fix that can cause the problem I had. If that wasn't enough, it gives me steps to narrow the solutions to the exact solution I needed. I hope this can become less expensive. Car parts aren't cheap and some fixes may be a waste of money if you don't know anything about cars.
