The amount of choices are very large. I've been using Medibang for almost 3 years now, and it's still the drawing app I depend on. However, I have a few problem with it. Sometimes, the canvas crashes and it would exit by itself, making me hope that the nearest save got all my work down. It's very frustrating to deal with it, since it happened on most of my drawings. Overall, I'd give the app itself a solid 5/5, if it didn't crash everytime I'd use it

I've been using this app for years, I don't even know how long. it's a great drawing app. however, over the years, the ads have gotten more obtrusive. i understand developers need to make money. I was willing to tolerate ads when I loaded or saved my works. but as of this last update, I am receiving popup ads WHILE DRAWING, interrupting me, that I can't seem to back out of without entirely backing out of the file. this is RIDICULOUS. I am looking for a new app.

Ads have changed to be very intrusive, full screen and full volume, and trying to trick me into clicking. There's timers and the close buttons are so small you accidentally click the ad first. I went to create a small thing and was hit with 2 unskippable, loud video ads. sorry but I'm absolutely not paying $3 a month to get rid of these ads because If they weren't so intrusive they wouldn't be a problem. At this point it's the principle of the matter. So...I'm just uninstalling. Do better.

I've had this app for years, and I use it for my on-and-off drawing phases. It has WAY too many ads since I last used it. You can't save without an ad, you can't leave the app and resume your drawing without an ad, you can't even switch between projects without an ad. Additionally, if you switch between apps, progress on your art gets lost.

I've been using this app for a long time, but I just can't tolerate it anymore. These days, Medibang is INFESTED with ads. It's unavoidable and insidious. App crashes are also more frequent. Brushes that I downloaded years ago — and used freely — are now unavailable unless I watch a video. Any positive reviews are likely about older versions. Artists, especially new/young artists, do not use this. It's not worth it.

really really really good app if you do not have your Internet on. I love drawing with this... I used to before you had to pay for every single brush but still. this IS THE BEST.... it was the best app for art on the play store... I tried using it recently and I couldn't even get to a usable canvas size before I got totally cut off. I tried to open up a picture via my gallery but before I even touched the button to do so I got cut off.. useless without internet and still costly.

There's now a new update where a good majority of the brushes are behind an ad wall. So that means you cannot use them unless you watch an ad even if you do have a mediabang account. This is completely inaccessible for users who cannot access the Internet and have to draw offline! It's already bad enough that the app crashes and lags because of the constant ads. Makes the feature of having an account and the app being "free" just becoming utterly useless. Get rid of this ad feature.

been using this for years and it was actually okay in the beginning. However, now there is so many ads, it makes it almost unusable! I do not have money to pay for "premium" there wasn't even a premium when I first starting using this app. I'm about to switch to a new program because now it's just peeved me with how many pop up ads show up randomly.

it's a nice app, but the recent inundation of ads is ridiculous. it used to be just on saving or exporting. now it's when you open the app, open a project, SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT APP, save, export. an ad randomly popped up saying "watch this ad for free premium brushes for a short while" and I accidentally clicked yes. 2 minute unskipable ad. I closed the app and lost 10 minutes of progress. this app is getting unusable. I'd rather use a pencil and paper at this point.

I've used this app for years now, but it has become unusable recently. I'm not sure what happened, but since the new update (6/24), when I open a local save file, I'm only able to draw for a certain amount of time before my screen goes completely gray or white and I cannot interact with or even see my work anymore. I'm guessing this is a bug, but the ad pop-ups have made this even harder for me to combat. I still love this app but I'm moving to a different drawing app in the meantime.

My experience with this app has really gone downhill. I would be drawing and suddenly the canvas and tools disappear and all I see is a small ad at the top of the screen. I use the back button and it asks if I want to save or just discard. Please make the ads less intrusive because I'm beginning to feel like this app, free as it is, is not worth it when you can get a permanent ad-free experience with other illustration apps for maybe five dollars. And I really want to like this app.

i love it but the recent update made it impossible for me to use a specific pencil (yes, pencil, not a pen) that I've been using for years without watching ads so I can use it for three hours. it's still good tho. watching ads has made it possible for me to use pens that I haven't been able to try before so that's actually also an improvement and a plus point for the update compared to the previous version.

This has been my go-to drawing app for a decade now. It used to be one of the best out there, but unfortunately my experience has gone downhill. The app is very buggy. Crashing, excessive lagging, exporting files only for the app to exit and unsave many of my changes. I also cannot listen to music/videos while using this app, as either the music or the app itself will crash. Very disappointing - I've just realized how much I brace myself every time I prepare to draw with Medibang nowadays.

I recently updated this app after desperately holding onto a 2023 version. I wish I hadn't. This app's developers have only become MORE greedy. I didn't know it was even possible to have this level of greed. FREE brushes I have used for years are now locked behind a paywall/ ads. The constant ads that popup when you save, export, exit, try to use the app, or even when you leave the app for two seconds come off as desperate and needy.

it's the only app i use for art, and i consider it amazing, though recently the ads have gotten to their worst. a thirty second unskippable ad without ANY warning whatsoever can and will completely ruin the flow of my work. not to mention... some of the pop-up image ads can be VERY inappropriate, if you catch my drift. i'm very reluctant on recommending this app to anyone now, despite it being the one i'm most comfortable with and the only one i'm used to.

this used to be my favorite art program and my go-to recommendation for people searching for art programs to use. unfortunately they implemented ads and now it is basically unusable. there are ads that take up 1/4-1/3 or so of the screen. you can minimize them, but they reopen whenever you turn the screen, and they also refresh so every few minutes you have a new ad that you have to close. it's EXTREMELY disruptive and makes the program lag especially if you're on an older device. very sad :(

I've used this for nearly a decade. It's fallen off severely. Ads just about every save and every 20 brushstrokes. An update put most brushes (That I use in every piece) behind a paywall when they weren't for YEARS and are free on every other drawing program. (Fill tool for example.) You used to be able to watch an ad to unlock everything behind a paywall for 12 hours or so and it's now down to 3. I've moved to FireAlpaca and will be archiving my work then deleting this app from all my devices.

If you've used it for the past 5 years or so, you'll understand how the brushes that used to be free are now behind a pay/ad-wall. That made me lower my rating, but I didn't have too much of a problem with it. Now I do, there is a bug in the app that forces you to either try to trigger the "watch ad for brush" button that barely loads on its own, and another that does not register you watching the ad the first time, meaning you have to watch a 30s ad maybe twice for a 3hr use

Super great drawing app, almost the same as the desktop version! This is the only digital drawing app that treats me as well as a sheet of paper and I love it! Edit: I still love the app, but the ads make it near impossible to use. I usually just close the app and re-open after saving or exporting my current drawing. The ads and the blocked out "premium" brushes being mixed into the brushes make it very annoying. Especially when it isn't difficult to create your own brushes.

Updating my review after 4 years to a 3 star review. The app is still great to use, but I don't like how in order to transfer your project files to a Flash Drive off of your phone, you have to buy a higher premium membership. I'm fine paying for the cheap premium, but I wish I could just save my project files onto my PC through file transfer without paying.
