Abysmal A complete waste of time and money. Log in to the app and it tell me that there are devices in pairing mode. Asks me if I want to connect to the device waiting to be paired and then it can't find it. So how the heck did it find it to know it was in pairing mode. Got one bulb to work but the app doesn't work with Alexa. No matter what the developer says. Alexa just can't find devices that are paired to the app. And the app keeps logging me out. Totally useless.

Latest update completely broke the LED strip lights I had, and previous updates would repeatedly unpair them and forget settings. Worthless. Especially when there's no alternative and the device itself doesn't even come with a remote to control the lights on the off chance there's no connection possible. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money.

The app constantly freezes, and the notifications rarely work. If you turn your rules off, you will not start getting notifications when you turn them back on. Motion detection isn't very great either. There are plenty of instances where I know my pet or myself should have set off the motion sensor and it doesn't. Really a "get what you pay for" kind of thing as they are one of the cheapest cameras available. Live feed was the only thing that reliably worked and now it doesn't even work either.

The camera won't load live feed or recognize an SD card! I've un-installed the app more than once, nothing! I've cleared cache and data more than once, nothing! I've removed the device from my account and added it back, but still nothing! I've reset the camera via the reset button, but still nothing! And the restart from the app doesn't work!

first, it won't detect motion, no notification that there is motion, so completely useless. I bought a SD card to see if that fix the problem..but nope, it captured one photo, no video, and kept freezing when I tried to delete the one photo. Checked sd card is not defective. i believe they make it bad so you subscribe but I don't trust them now. Not buying a subscription to a camera that is bad quality. i have several other brands that work fantastic. returning to Walmart for refund tomorrow

I could write a book about all i hate about this app. I got more merkury cameras expecting to add them to my existing collection in the geeni app. I was disappointed to find that I need to download another app. But it gets worse that the merkury smart app doesn't seem to work. It won't recognize memory cards. I can't find any of the controls I'm familiar with, such as continuous recording. Zoom on live feed only has 2 settings. I emailed support for a useless response,implying they didn't read.

This company's devices keep disconnecting from my google home. These products are the only ones that do it. save youself a headache and spend a little more to get a product that dependable. Being I own several smart devices and these are the ones that constantly fail, I won't be using their products anymore and I'll start swapping them out for a product that works.

it takes anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes to even get motion detected. and for the past 3 days the cameras have been "updating" saying this should only take a minute. I've restarted them, unplugged them, tried to reboot but they dont, I hear them "clicking" ever so often as it is still updating as im typing this. I shouldn't have tried something new. canceled my plan and I'll be going back to who I had before.

Can't access my videos unless I'm subscribed, the camera cable stopped working I haven't even had it a full year. UPDATE:: bought the stupid plan like they wanted and now it's unable to connect to the WiFi. I've reset it, reinstalled the app and even left the device off for a few hours and it's still unable to connect to the WiFi. don't waste your money!!!

changing my review. it doesn't motion detect at all most of the time. it randomly decides when it wants to send notifications about motion. Just yesterday camera started updating... it never stopped. I've done a number of things to fix it. bottom line. don't buy merkury cameras the app also is terrible and outdated too. CUSTOMER SUPPORT ISNT ANY BETTER EITHER, DONT BUY !!!!

Use to be good. Current issues: 1 Really annoying to have to leave the live feed into settings to turn on or off the night mode. please add a button on the quick menu. 2. The night button in settings stopped working. Won't go on night mode anymore. 3. Even after I paid for a monthly service to keep all recorded activities, and setting the recordings properly in app it will recorded perfectly for days then just stop recording. I'll have 300 records on Mon but only 3 Tues. 300 wed 4 Thu 28 fri

last update on 4/16/25 completely ruined the very little the app had going for it. Panning in live view now rotates 10 degrees when it used to rotate 1 and could set up exactly where you'd like it to be, its now either way too high or way too low for my needs. The spotlight flashes every 10 seconds even with setting turned off. And often I find the camera facing directly at the ground straight down. What the heck did yall do??? I dont even like this product anymore. I'd have to relocate the cam

Let's first start off by saying I hate that I cannot respond to a rating 🌟. Notifications do not come in, in real time. The speaker is a joke 😑 And if you don't know how to use the app you won't get all the features. In turn, will have you buying a subscription when you don't need to. i paid for the lowest amount subscription just so I could get the important features. Every time I go in to change the settings it doesn't save them and goes right back to default 😟

You get what you pay for: Cameras are cheap in price and quality and it shows. The camera only appears to capture 30% of the actual movement around it even on the highest sensitivity setting. Not to mention the glitchy app that always crashes and takes 8 minutes to load 1 clip. If you want a camera that is reliable and will actually capture activity on your property, spend more $ and keep away from this geeni company

they will charge you whenever they like, they charged me a week earlier than they should have. I don't like that feature so I canceled. it takes 20 minutes to get a notification that my camera went off. it's not real time I'm very dissatisfied because of this, I use another free security camera app as well and get immediate notifications when my camera detects something. the night vision is great though, but not good if there is an emergency you need to call in, it will be too late.

I have 3 vehicles and over 3 ppl at my house, and the camera didn't record any of it. When it does capture video it's always me because you have to dance in feont of it for a few to set it off. and it takes 15 mins later to send notification. If you just want a camera to live stream, these are decent, but the motion sensor rarely works, and when it does, the recording is so short, like 15 seconds, that it's useless. I am canceling subscription and taking cameras back to Walmart.

Very frustrating app. Very extremely difficult to set up. Been trying for days but still it doesn't detect motion, no notification and no recording of a video. Been trying all the advice available. Gave it a pass and do yourself a favor. Mine is up to date and connected to WiFi.. no one available to help. Everyone says you have to switch motion detection on but it is on. People don't understand the frustration.

With the sensitivity set to max and to detect any and all movement, it detects about 20% of the motion that goes past it. You need to get within 2-3 feet of the camera and hover around it for about 30 seconds or it will not detect anything. I have 1 setup at a door where it sees the door opening and anyone walking in, but since the motion of all that takes less than 30 seconds it does not acknowledge it. Even when it does detect and record motion, notifications do not work at all.

when I bought 2 merkury cameras, nowhere did it say the only way you can track a human or animal is if you upgrade and buy a plan. Nowhere did it say that you can't take the memory card out and watch the videos on a home computer . camera constantly goes offline at least 3 to 4 times a day . it won't, and I can't watch recordings either . some of the app is easy to use, and some of it is very confusing. do your homework on these cameras before you purchase them .

I am very disappointed with this camera. when I purchased the camera, it said nowhere on the box that I had to purchase a plan. I've had it for over 3 months and I've been using it daily. Now, it says I have to purchase a plan in order to view the video captured. Let's talk about quality HA!!! None of the videos ever played all the way through, EVER! I my notifications come in 20 minutes after they occur. 20 MINUTES!!! A waste of money and time. I gave 1 star, for the app equipment.
