Description
Been using MICHAEL JAMES SMITH TV for a couple months now. It’s basically a painting tutorial app where you can learn how to create photo-realistic artwork from a professional artist. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do – you get access to hundreds of video lessons where Michael walks you through the entire painting process step-by-step. And there’s also downloadable reference photos and sketches to work from. And you can pause and rewind the videos anytime, which is super useful.
Look, if you’re into painting and want to improve your skills, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – some of the lessons can get a bit repetitive after a while – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re looking to take your art to the next level.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on MICHAEL JAMES SMITH TV. I've tested a bunch of art tutorial apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The video quality is great, Michael explains things really clearly, and the sheer number of lessons is impressive. Compared to other apps, the production value is a lot higher. But it's not all perfect - the ads can get annoying if you don't pay, and some of the projects feel a bit same-y after a while. Overall though, I'd say it's a pretty solid investment if you're serious about improving your painting skills.

The app is a great resource. Micheal explains each step clearly. Although it is annoying the huge void between his talent and mine, oh well more practice.
Love to paint and always looking for new technics and ways to improve and Michael Smith is by far the best realistic painter I have ever followed a must for...
I have had good results from the lessons I have tried, but more importantly, I have had fun painting while following the tutorial.
