I've used the Michaels app for the last 5 or so years (very convenient when you're working all the time and need something for a project or the kids) The last couple months it's been a disaster. It won't open up, and when it does, it keeps asking me to sign in and then shows me signed in but when I try to go to anything on the app, it takes me to the sign in page. NOW it's asking for a zip code (won't even let me go to the sign in page) and it keeps saying no store in my area! Frustrating!

Terrible. The app only works a quarter of the time. It seems incapable of finding the store you are standing in and will not let you past that page. If you do manage to get past the store locater, you can't get logged in because it does not recognize the ID created thru the website. you try to use forget password and it does not recognize the email address you used and if you try to create a new account due to sheer frustration you get a network error.

App filters do not work. I select "in store" and I'm still being shown items for shipping only. I select "Michael's" as the only retailer, I'm still shown items from other vendors. I want to see the items that are in my local store so I can know that I can go purchase them in person or that I can order for pickup. Stop wasting my time showing stuff I'm not interested in.

SUPPORT HELP PLEASE. The app would open, but wouldn't let me sign in. I kept getting a network error and message to allow location sharing. My location is shared. Tried to reinstall. Can't get past location sharing error to see anything else in the app. I used my phone number at checkout, but the website does not recognize that I have a rewards account, so I don't know if my purchases are being applied and I have no way to use them, if they are.

Love Michael's. Favorite go-to store. However, the app is no longer working (1 star is for app, not store). Since the update, I can no longer access app. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but it keeps kicking me out. I tried installing on my tablet, same thing. Please fix the update as it worked perfectly before the update a few days ago. Update: 8/23/25: for the last few days, I'm experiencing exactly the same thing as in January. Accessing my account thru website now.

Since the most recent update on August 13, 2025, the app no longer works. it fails to find a store and can't navigate past that screen. Un-installed, reinstalled, allowed location in app permissions and still a no go. As a fellow software developer I understand there might be a few glitches when updates are deployed but thought the basic functionality would have been restored by now after a couple weeks of the app not working at all.

I keep having issues with this app. Truly frustrated that Michael's stopped giving coupons on their stores. It's truly been frustrating trying to get my app to open up. Keeps loading. The search engine on the app rarely gets me the product I'm looking for. The local store put locks on their bathrooms and now tell me they don't have bathrooms even though I know they do. Not helpful when you have kids. I don't like the new set up for one cashier and the workers aren't knowledgeable of the product.

I had no issues with the app until the latest update. It kept telling me it couldn't connect due to a server issue, so I uninstalled/reinstalled. Now I can't even get past the choose a store screen because no matter what option I use or what zip code I type in, it says it cannot find any stores near me. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, but it gets stuck in the same place. I guess Michael's wants me to buy my thousands of dollars of yearly craft supplies elsewhere.

So I recently got the app to shop on since Joanns is gone, but the app doesn't work very well sadly. When I try to look at my cart it completely crashes and it also randomly pops up that it's processing my request (no idea what request) and freezes on that and the only way to get rid of it is to uninstall and reinstall or manually close it. So basically all I can do with it right now is just window shop on it and check my tracking on orders I got from the actual website.

This app is frustrating. For awhile I would select in store to see what's in the store only but it showed everything. Updated a few days ago, it worked like it should. Now I'm getting messages to select location. I've always had locations to "allow while using app". I've even "allowed all the time".Still not working. So now the app is not working, has "network error". Never had so many issues with this app but lately it's being issue after issue. I've loved this app but not so much lately.

I've reinstalled the app 3 times in the last 24 hours, and cleared the data in between. The app won't let me sign in, let alone choose a home store. I haven't used the app in probably a year or two, but was unpleasantly surprised to find out it's buggy beyond functionality. Will pull or update this review when the app is functional again. Until then, I'll have to use the browser.

The app was useful just for accessing the account bar code that's no longer available on the website. However, the app has been broken for weeks now. Everything errors out. Can't log in, can't look up stores, can't search. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it's still broken. Can't believe they left it so bugged for so long.

This app is seriously the most frustrating app to use. It glitches terribly and I have missed out on so many coupons and discounts because I can't get it to work while I'm in the store. Now, it is having an issue with finding my location/locating a store near me as well as troubleshooting with signing in to my rewards account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, refreshed, updated, turned on my location services, all of it! Beyond frustrating.

I love Michael's and am a frequent customer, however, this app is terrible. It is constantly having issues. I currently can not even log in to my account no matter what I do. I have tried everything. It constantly logs me out at whim. It also constantly struggles to connect even when service is as full of bars as it can be. Please fix this app. I cannot access my coupons or reward cash and it is very frustrating.

The app has become increasingly unusable over the last several months, constantly crashing and saying things "aren't available right now, please try again later." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but now I can't even get past the "Find a store" screen because it keeps insisting it can't find one near me—even while I'm standing in one!

unfortunately it's logging me out of my account like every 5 minutes. I can't scroll or even add to cart without it logging me out. I don't notice sometimes and it's becoming a large problem. Also, something that really bothers me. I go to "orders" and it's just showing me the items and delivery dates. No totals, no order numbers, nothing. That's just stupid design to not have my entire order together with order numbers. You did it in an email and website, you can do it on the app.

The previous update was already bad enough (I hate shuffling through 3rd party items), but this latest one (as of early April 2023) just constantly crashes. Goes right along with your lack of good coupons nowadays and mediocre sales. This used to be my favorite art store to buy supplies for my business. Now, the competition gets 90%+ of my business. I miss the old Michael's. 10/2024-Still always something. Trying to make a purchase, yet app won't save my information for me to even checkout...

If I could give zero stars I would. I have used this app on and off for years. I don't always keep it on my phone for storage reasons. But never had a problem with it when I've downloaded it. Tried to download it tonight and as soon as I choose a home store it keeps experiencing a run time error and won't let me do anything. The only options are to restart or close and whenever I try to restart it just happens again. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my phone. Nothing.

Glitchy, buggy app. If I add a 2nd or 3rd of one item, every other selection in my cart increases as well. Can't get my credit card to work (only PayPal payments go through), and search is hit or miss at best. Absolute trash most of the time, which stinks because my local stores are out of stock all the time, so I'm stuck trying to order from an abysmal, frustrating app.

Normally, the Michael's app is fine. A little slow here and there, normal app stuff, but for the past 2 days, the app has been completely unusable. Every search brings up an error message, no information on promotions or anything else will load, just error after error. Even after reinstalling the app 3 times, no improvement and it "can't locate any stores" within 200 miles anywhere I put in.
