Update: Removed one more star. Wish I could go negative. Personal Vault no longer shows your files. Totally useless app as you'd expect from Microsoft. Not really a good experience with this app. Vault files are not updated in the app. On computer desktop or through browser, I can access the latest files in the vault, however in the app, the files are always a much older versions. Also cannot open password protected word files.
Reviews for Microsoft OneDrive
← Back to Microsoft OneDriveThe app states I've only used 20% of my storage, but when I try to add anything (files, documents, photos, etc.) I get an error for "Strorage use full". I tried to look everywhere for a solution. My trash is empty, and I'm not sharing anything, so I don't understand how the other 80% is being used. Super fustrating.
I spent 30 minutes trying to extract my photos onto my device and finally when I initiated it, the app crashed and I had to start all over. This isnt the first time. This has happened 4 separate occasions. I'm sick of it! Why does it make me manually select all the photos??? Theres no bulk method of extraction. And also the sub. is way too expensive.
I generally like this app for storing various files but the photos have issues; if I delete a photo from the gallery section, it won't delete the photo from albums. really frustrating when the app also won't let you delete photos through the album, you can only remove from album. would be great to have a "one and done" method. I use this to store reference photos so it's kinda hard to scroll through hundreds of photos twice to delete something once
I have had nothing but issues with this app, even after updating & uninstalling & reinstalling & doing everything I can to make it work. I wanted to upgrade to the free trial of extra storage but the app wanted to use a Google Play account for an email I don't have a Play account set up with, & no option to change the Play account used. Then, when I try to sync gallery, it won't let me and says I only have 5gb of storage, when everywhere else in my settings it says I have 100gb. Just a bad app
The search feature decided to stop working. It was working great, now whenever I enter the file name in the search box, nothing comes up. But if I manually search through the folders, file is sitting right there and opens up just fine. The extra hassle is unnecessary given a perfectly good search bar that is sitting there nice and pretty, refusing to do it's one job.
Terrible app. Unintuitive to use, deletes your files. AI tags files, but now my gallery has files sorted by wrong dates and out on sequence. You move stuff to an album, it says it did it, they appear to be there, delete them from your main gallery and they are gone from the album. Can only move like 30 files at once. Wanna use the recycle bin? File names only, no thumbnails. Get Google drive instead.
It's impossible to move files around with OneDrive. It always gives the error, file can't be moved, file is open. The file is not open. I'm the only one using my OneDrive. I'll be finding an alternative. If you want to stay organized...do not use OneDrive, you won't be able to organize your files, it will always tell you, files can't be moved/their open, when they aren't.
This app stresses me out so badly. I've spent hours trying to figure this out and keep my local files LOCAL. I keep being forced into syncing things I don't even want synced! I have old files being loaded onto my NEW computer. I keep trying to turn off the backup for certain folders, and it will still find a way to place them onto the cloud. Even my recent screenshots were going into an old folder they decided to add to my computer. I've never been more annoyed.
As far as backup goes, this has to be one of the worst systems out there, every thing is scattered, it's difficult to find whatever you're looking for, and because Samsung partnered with OneDrive, random photos will get backed up and deleted from my gallery app, whether I want it gone or not. It's frustrating and I wish I could completely divorce my files with this app, it's ridiculous. Would not recommend.
Newer files and folders don't show up in my company's shared folder. It's random what files appear and what folders show up. This app has had this problem for years. Never fixed. On my laptop the files are there so this app is messed up. Don't count on this app actually letting you get to what you need. This is par for the course for Microsoft.
I feel like I was tricked into using this app that I never even wanted. It is NOT user friendly. There is no way to delete multiple files at once on mobile, you have to be on a desktop. Of course you have to pay a monthly subscription or you lose access to all of your files that are saved in an app you didn't even want. If you run out of space, your monthly fee increases to "buy more space" for another thing you'll never own. I am SICK of apps and subscriptions like this.
there must be a glitch, today it stopped working on my phone and laptop. and I seem to have lost all of my files, or I just don't have access to them. it keeps saying unable to sync do to service issue. I've never had an issue. but today of all days was the worst timing to malfunction. I use this for school and lost access to all my files .
Basically, I haven't been able to use OneDrive for months now. I can't add, sync or backup any files. Although, it does an excellent job of deleting most of my files on its own without my permission. Do you think that Microsoft cares about helping to fix it. I spoke with their tech dept on May 15th and they promised to contact me back with a fix and I haven't heard from them them since. I guess paying customers don't matter.
I’ve been using this app for a few years and have uploaded a lot of videos and photos. Over time, streaming my videos has become frustrating due to lag, pauses, and audio issues. On top of that, I’m close to hitting the 1TB storage limit, and there’s no option to upgrade for more space. Because of this, I’ll be moving to Google Cloud, and I won’t be renewing my Microsoft services—including OneDrive, Office 365, and Xbox Live.
Used to work great, now it forces you with no choice to automatically upload every file you have in your documents, photos and downloads (+many more directories) to the cloud. In addition to the privacy issues, when it first updated with the new "features" it uploaded over 400 gb of my files and locked up my internet service for several days while it took my data. Now it refuses to sync the data to my other apps.
I've been a 1tb subscriber for 10+ years, but lately the app, and thus service, is almost unusable. Navigating folders is painfully slow, sometimes loading and then reloading again, taking very long times to do both. Additionally, if you have any amount of files in a directory, good luck. Files load very slowly and sporadically, if at all. As you scroll, scrolling away will cause them to essentially unload while nothing in view has loaded. this makes it easy to not know where you've scrolled.
The app is great when it works. It consistently closes. There are no updates available so that's not the issue. The sync is also inconsistent. Some things are backed up and synced from my phone , but not everything, resulting loss of photos and files when I clear files from my phone. When the sync is working, it takes several hours and in most cases days for files to sync from my phone and appear on my computer. Overall, the app is fine if it works, but most often it doesn't.
Works okay, unless you need to access files offline. That functionality is very buggy and fragile, especially if you have subdirectories, large files, or many files - the app always chokes. Once a file gets the red X, there doesn't seem to be a way to get the app to re-evaluate the status. I've tried restarting the phone, the app, clearing the cache. and even updating the file online to force a re-sync. Surprising the file does sync and contains the updated content, but still shows the red X.
It kind of sucks. The actual programming/technology. I consistently have issues logging in, using the vault and honestly even using Microsoft Outlook in conjuction with this service. I don't know much about alternative services in this category but I can be sure to find out because I'm tired of Microsoft dragging my user experience through the mud. The whole point of a Cloud Storage service is to be able to access things you don't have physical access to. When it counts, this service fails me.
