Great app, but wish it gave a % break down when it comes to the tax part. Not sure how it calculates the data, that would be nice. Hopefully it's not to fare outdated.
Reviews for Military Retirement
← Back to Military RetirementVery buggy. Unable to switch between saved configurations... unable to open certain windows to affect changes. For a $6 app you would expect it to work.
Gives major insight for planning purposes.
Great app for anyone close to retirement. I've personally verified the SBP and Medical numbers, so it reflects accurate information for your planning purposes. The low cost is worth it to allow collated information that's accurate when weighing retirement dates and goals.
This app works great as long as you don't have a break in service. It's less than accurate if your Pay Entry Basic Date has ever been adjusted.
Love the ap and how easy it is to use and manipulate just about everything. However I'm not sure about the accuracy of some aspects, such as the retire pay block. An E8 with 28 years should be more than $30 a month more than an E7 with same amount of years.
Great app! This has really helped me plan ahead and gave me a very good snapshot of where I will land after retirement. I love how you can manipulate the dates. It's one of the best calculators out there!
I love the app and the information that is gathered. App really helps me make better retirement decisions. I wish the app also had VA SMC calculations included.
App is pricey but has a lot of info to show you preparing for retirement & accurate info with up to date options. Wish it was in $2-$3 range. Great app btw. Very accurate!
This app is good for someone who has a very traditional situation and is completely unfamiliar with the benefits and costs of retirement, and how to look them up. The only part that I found beneficial was the disability rating options. It didn't help with calculatuons for former spouse receiving a portion of retirement or SBP in a more custom amount. I'm glad it didn't cost more, and definitely feel like it wasn't worth the price for my situation.
Fantastic and straightforward app to use. It would be nice to have options to add SMC-K, etc, into the final equation so you can see the total. I'm sure it would be an easy addition to make.
how come you can't select a retirement year before 2012... I retired in 2003. I will refund if I can't select correct year.
Good app for those already retired and about to retire out the military. If you are wondering if it's worth buying I would say yes. 5.99 is what you pay for a beer if you are lucky. Give yourself peace of mind and always have goals and plans to reach them. This app is just 1 of many tools to use. They need to update the taxes to reflect that you don't get taxed on your VA disability at least from Texas
So, awesome app. Really the best tool available for forecasting between scenarios. Absolutely worth the few bucks!!! Only feedback for the dev, I think the Tricare option could be updated I think it's underselling the retired costs across select/prime when I look at the 2024 Tricare costs+fees. Could be wrong though.
I think this app is great and has an amazing suite of options - my only main critique is that the retirement calculations start at 20 years. It would be nice (although I'm sure difficult) to add a form of support to allow members that may be facing either an early/medical retirement, or retirement under TERA (if it becomes active again) an option to calculate their retirement!
Just what I'd want from a "tool" app. No account needed, nothing to sign up for, no providing your email address to get emails you will never read. You just put in some numbers and it outputs expected pay. Simple, fast, and looks accurate.
Works great. East to set up, view, compare, and edit multiple profiles. I set it up to show what I should expect to receive if I retire at 20 years at my current rank, 23 years (high three) at the rank I'll likely be promoted to a couple months before the 20 year mark, and the next rank with both 26 and 30 years to compare. Never had any issues. I'd rather PAY for an app without adds and potetial privacy compromising permission any day! Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Been using this for years. Helpful in making career choices and deciding when to hop off of this train haha! Continuous updates have made it more accurate by including additional information. Ask any old timer at your unit or in your company... they all know the "umbrella app"... there's a reason.
It really only tells you things you can find quickly on your own. It doesn't help you with things to do before retirement. There's no checklist... just pay, Tricare, and disability info.
Tons of options for different scenarios. The best available.
