Its basic....there are no thrills, bells, or whistles here. Functionality is easy. I've experienced about three separate glitches which simply caused me to log out, forget about the app for a couple of days, and then return when I was bored!
would have stayed and would have kept the app if they didn't charge you right out the gate to have a conversation. I would have considered it if I liked it but to block your users from even chatting and hiding it behind a subscription charge is ridiculous.
There seems to be quite a bit of fake profiles. I'm in the east coast USA but keep getting messages from the west coast and other countries. Even worse, the messages have increased since my premium membership expired. Although I have met members, the site seems to dramatically misrepresent their actual member count.
This app is not worth the hassle. I tried to pay 3 different times. It would go through, take it out of my account and about 10 minutes later.. psych! Nevermind, give the money back and say it was invalid. Also, you can put in any mileage radius and the app doesn't go by it. It still gives you anyone from anywhere. I've had this app for about 3 months. I'm done. Waste of time
If you match with someone, you still can't message each other. The membership fees are outrageously priced. $69.99/3mo. That's ridiculous. You don't even have the option to only buy communication privileges. Also, if you put other ways for people to contact you on yout profile, you'll get your account suspended for violating the terms of service. Their other sites are like this, too.
Took my profile down within a couple hours of me making it. I had only liked a couple other members' profiles & partially set up my own. I was tired as I had been up all night with my newborn son, so I didn't verify my email right away. I fell asleep, & when I woke up, my account had been terminated. When I contacted support, I got a message saying I had to send them photos of my photo ID and myself holding it for fraud prevention. Seems very fishy to me.
Poor app to use right now. When in the photo uploading screens, back button just refreshes screen instead of going back to home page or exiting. When on profile page submit button won't submit and save changes to profile. Hit back button and went to menu page. When I went back to profile only a few of my changes were actually saved. I couldn't even change my DOB.
Wish I had a better update they did unlock my account but told me I had to pay the membership dues all over again so they charged me twice for membership and said to expect a refund of the first payment but it never came. I have bank statements to prove the double dip without any refund like I was told I would receive. The membership isnt very cheap so to be charged twice is pretty upsetting
This is the worst app that anyone could ever download. Look at the one star reviews. Btw, they would not refund me even though my filters do not work. If you click local, forget about it. You're going to have floods of messages of people from other countries. I tried to explain all this to their technical support team, and they told me to change my filters to everything I don't want. It's an absolutely bad application with unprofessional and rude staff.
Not worth it!!! After you make your profile you realize it may be slim pickings but your hopeful. The app is detailed on preferences but once you get a match you can't even send a message unless you pay a monthly fee. So overall that was a huge waste of my time. I wish there were service members and vets using pof.
