It's sick and wrong that a self help app for tinnitus is commercialized for profit and to such a point that the free app is basically a chatbot, and the premium version includes the actual most worthwhile self help exercises. How disappointing. You should decide if you want to help people, or earn money, but doing both is very wrong
Reviews for MindEar | Tinnitus Relief
The sounds are great, and I can use them in the night to help mitigate the tinnitus. I wish I didn't have to re-log in each time, that can mean I go to another app that is quicker to access.
Love it!! It's very informative and a great and interactive way. You learn a lot about this condition without getting overwhelmed. On the contrary, it guides you properly in the path of making this condition more tolerable. The main target is to reduce the negative impact of tinnitus in your life. I'm enjoying it, and I know I will get there eventually. Very helpful app. Thank you so much for it.
Connectivity issues, Android 14, four bars. Most information is via video, I prefer to read. Hearing test would not load. I uninstalled this and I'm trying another, similar app, which seems to function better.
The app doesn't allow you to progress after reading the podcast. I got to the end of level 1. Didn't learn anything useful and wasted a half hour. Definitely, written by people who have never suffered from tinnitus
Poor performance and glitchy. Once I paid for the subscription it constantly needed me to log in. App Bot feels repetitive. Some of the sound loops repeat to quickly and i had to turn some off as they sounded like a hammer. Shame I had high hopes for the soundscapes.
Fine for people who need to relax, have positive thoughts, sleep better, calming music, lower stress. However I do these things and it doesn't lessen my tinnitus. I had hoped for something that would reduce the constant ringing. More of a medical breakthrough.
Ringing in the ears can happen for many reasons, even if you've worn hearing protection. Apps like this with ambient nature noise helps me a lot. I have multiple different devices, they all help in their own way.
All the usual stuff including cognitive masking, presented by a chatbot and podcasts. The screen layout is a bit daunting for a while. By the end of journey 2 you get the offer in a talk to buy some hi tech "hearing aids" for approx $au2k!. It used to be a "special" cassette player 30 years ago. To proceed to level 3 you must take some "free offers" before you can move past the TOLL Gate... I could see no exciting/major breakthrough presented, apart from the tinnybot collecting your info.
I have been on this journey for a while but have found the breathing and relaxation exercises the most helpful on this app. Important to implement the routine of doing these every day. Definitely helps reduced the severity of the tinnitus ring.
