Description
Been testing Minichat for about two weeks now. It’s basically a video chat app where you can hop on and talk to random people from all over. Pretty straightforward stuff – you open it up, hit the start button, and boom – you’re chatting with someone new. No complicated setup or anything, which is nice.
The main thing here is the random matching. You can skip to the next person if you’re not feeling the conversation (trust me, you’ll use this a lot). There’s also this filter thing where you can try to match with people who speak your language, but it’s kinda hit or miss. The video quality’s decent enough – not amazing, but gets the job done for quick chats.
Look, if you’re into meeting random people online and don’t mind some awkward conversations, this might be your thing. It’s got that chatroulette vibe but with better moderation (still not perfect though). Been seeing more and more of these apps pop up lately, and this one’s not bad. Just know what you’re getting into – it’s definitely a mixed bag of experiences.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take after using Minichat pretty regularly. I've tried a bunch of these random chat apps, and honestly, this one's somewhere in the middle of the pack. The good stuff? It's super easy to use and there's usually plenty of people online. But real talk - you're gonna run into the usual problems these apps have. Lots of people just looking for dates (even though it's not really a dating app), some weird encounters, and yeah, occasional creepy folks despite the moderation.
What bugs me is how basic it feels sometimes. Like, they could add some better filters or maybe some interesting ice-breaker features. But I guess that's what keeps it simple. Not gonna lie, it can be fun if you're bored and want to chat with random people, but don't expect anything life-changing.

- Language filters don't work great
