Decent card, and unlike others here I have been fortunate enough to get a credit increase. Having said that, for the last 2 months I have not been able to log into the app to pay my bill, of course they have bankers hours (on the East Coast) which are very inconvenient for a "left coaster" such as myself. Tried the fix they outlined in their Help section, to no avail. VERY ANNOYING not being able to pay your bill because of something out of my control.....
Reviews for Mission Lane
not a good card to have amongst other credit cards. card payments don't show money is in the account until 7 days later and if you're only paying the minimum amount, you get hit with an interest charge before the money deposit. It makes it difficult to try and use the card when the payment transaction takes longer than expected. getting help from customer service is poor as well because they'll reply if you send an email, but it'll take you to a useless FAQ page instead of getting a solid reply.
I don't believe all the good ratings. For one your payment down not post when it says it will even though they took the money out of your account and the availability of credit is non-existent for over 5 days. Capital one on the other hand has it available when you make the payment online you can see your available balance go up instantly. Payments post on time and credit is available far faster. This card should not be a primary care as you will suffer in the long run.
My teenager could create a better app. This is the most no frills app ever, and that wouldn't be a horrible thing if I could figure out the most basic functions. All I care about is seeing what my balance is, my available credit, my due date and what's due, and whats posted or pending on my card. Half of the time my available amount doesn't add up to my balance, it's off all the time.
I'm reviewing the Mission Lane CC app, not the company itself. So far I'm happy with the app interface. No real issues to report. Very happy they added support for Bio login (Face ID). The only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to lack of notifications. I would love to see notifications for upcoming payments being due, as well as optional notifications for when my card is used. Otherwise it works as expected.
Their technology is antiquated. It takes a week for your payment to credit to your account. I paid with the app and the payment was withdrawn from my bank account the following day. Maybe they use the Pony Express to move the money. It's ridiculous in this electronic age for it to take seven days to credit my account and reflect the payment in my available credit. I have a number of other credit cards and none of them take more than two to three days.
If your app automatically pops up a request to rate it despite how it's effectively a paid app given the reason I use it, I will rate it 1 star. It doesn't help that the login with biometrics takes forever. Otherwise, the app is perfectly serviceable. Not jaw-droppingly good, not bad. For a credit card management app, that's just fine with me.
Takes from Friday to Wednesday to go from your bank to the card. They pull it out at some point at random (not instant), then for a few days it's Schrodinger's money, then you see it and can use it again Wednesday. They report your balance every month, an once you find that date, you can pay it off early to help credit score. I got one automatic credit limit increase of $100 after a few months. I'd go with a secure cc if I could do it over again. It's an ok starter card.
I didn't experience any of the negative items others spoke about. I was able to install the app, login and review all of the information, example-due date, balance, credit limit, and how much I will be paying if I go over my limit. As of today, it's a great experience especially the videos. Very good information on your credit scoring and maintaining it.
I got this card in effort to get my credit score into repair mode. yeah the annual fee is not good but pay your balance by the end of the month and it's like a debit card in a way. My score is firing up and it's been close to a year now but it's also because I paid off large debts in collections. When I got this card, my limit was 300 but it's up to 800 now I think. I upgraded to other card companies with 0 annual fees and they jumped my credit limits up way high. Use Responsibly!!
