I downloaded and was enjoying adding ingredients until I saw most recipes were locked. I looked into Premium but it's $12/year. I really dislike subscription apps, especially for one I'll only use a handful of times a year. If it was a reasonable one time payment I'd recommend purchasing and using this app. As of now My Cocktail Bar seems to have equivalent functionality with all recipes free ($2 to remove adds).

The only cocktail recipe guide you need! Thousands of recipes from the best cocktail books around the world and an ingredient tracker so you know what you can make, and many ways of filtering and sorting recipes. There's also the "maximizer" which calculates what new ingredients will allow you to make the most new cocktails. This is absolutely my favorite app ever.

Excellent app that I use frequently. The cocktail recipes are vetted and are from reliable and quality sources. The build-a-bar feature is great, and allows you to see what ingredients you could add to expand your recipe options. The app itself is very pretty and easy to use. The ability to add notes, pictures, and track the drinks you've tried is great; I find myself adjusting the recipes to my preference over time.

By far the best cocktail app! I enjoy the pixel art but the app really shines in its vast list of cocktails and all the ways you can interact with them. Being able to sort by the different packs, flavors and see which you have ingredients for is amazing. The add-in packs are a must have if you want plenty of recipes to try out!

I LOVE this app-GREAT FOR BARTENDERS, and the most recent update fixed the one problem I previously experienced: the inability to switch bottles locations on your bar (you could only move up or down, not left-right). Now you can customize your bar easily while finding awesome recipes about virtually anything. I paid for the full set of recipes, and it has been worth it. It tells you what you can make with the ingredients you have on hand. So user friendly and super useful behind the bar. 10/10.

Fantastic app idea for bartenders, but needs work. The fact that you have to pay a subscription fee to get the (very necessary) premium features is the reason why i am uninstalling and using a different app. It's nice to have my favorite recipe books pre-loaded onto the app, but I would much rather pay a flat fee to unlock them. The menus are also a little janky and hard to navigate.

Painless to navigate (there's even a tutorial!), and curated/sourced recipes are very appreciated. I've added a few recipes from other books, but very often the IBA suggestion is right there waiting. Got the app for ingredient matching recipes, but the tips for substitutions, flavor, and category are what really impressed me. I feel like I can navigate my own cabinet in a whole new way. And since cocktails should be fun, not homework, the all-in pixel art is delightful.

This is a useful, and beautiful tool, but it's not worth the annual fee of $11, or $2/month, that they are charging. I would be very happy paying a one time fee of ~$10. The free version only has a limited selection of simple cocktail, ones I can keep in my head without needing an app. It's pretty impotent, honestly. Useless for someone already somewhat experienced as a home bartender.

After being served several nice drinks, I asked my friend where he got his recipes. He told me this app and I downloaded it. I think the virtual bar is clever and I like being able to add and backup my own creations. I've never been a fan of the retro 8bit craze but overlook it because the app works. I finally chose to pay for all of the recipes but found they moved to a subscription model. Unfortunately this is not an app I use enough to justify paying a monthly/annual fee. Lost opportunity.

I love this app! The ability to set up your actual bar, fridge, and pantry in a digital format is an absolutely amazing feature for new and experienced mixers. The fact that the app then yes what you've told it you have on hand to tell you what you can make AND how to make it is simply amazing. I'd i could complain about anything, it's be that if things are to close on the shelf, they can't be clicked. To end on a high, even if the app doesn't have the cocktail, it can manually be entered!

I've only purchased a few apps, and never written a review for one, but this is one of the best apps I've ever used. It only draws recipes from reliable sources, is extremely organized, has a wonderful style, and plenty of options. Mixel let's you stock your virtual bar and lets you know what recipes you can make; what's even better is it tells you how close you are to being able to make a recipe and recommends substitutes for a pinch. You can add notes to recipes. It's truly great.

Probably the best cocktail/bar app I've used. Really clean interface that doesn't feel like you're just using a desktop website from 2010 in mobile form. It has a huge library and I like that it basically collects cocktails from a variety of established sources so you don't have to. The pixel art may not be for everyone but I really like it, especially for creating cocktails. To me it provides a look of consistency throughout the app.

I tried a handful of cocktail apps before stumbling on to this one. And I was happy to pay for the complete edition. If you bartend at home and or work this app is a must and it's worth every penny. It's like buying ten $10 bar books for $10 . Definitely turn off the pixel font though my only complaint so far. I really didn't want to spend money on a cocktail app, but if felt let down by every free app on the store, and this one is actually worth every penny. It actually has cocktails like the Revolver which I simply couldn't find on any other app. I actually do wish there was a social aspect, being able to add friends through email just to share or view favorites and bookmarks would take this application to the next level. Screenshotting works well enough but I feel like there's some missed opportunity in not being able to share cocktails recipes in the app with other people that have the app. Not to create new ones, just to share the ones that are already there. But that's it. The pixel font is annoying to me (easy fix built into the app) and I can't add people as friends. Still a 5/5 though 9/10 if I could.

Great app. Best of its kind and worth the subscription price. You are paying a buck a month for access to thousands of great recipes that the developers pulled from several highly regarded sources. I'd love it if they would show your rating and others ratings right on the search results screen. It would encourage people to bookmark and rate drinks and help users identify interesting drinks more quickly. One other minor quibble. Filtering/sorting by rating, source, etc. is cumbersome.

I got this to reference drinks from specific books. The books are there, and so are some of the recipes, but Mixel specifically states that not all recipes are there, and they may have modified the recipes to suit their own needs or whatever. That defeats the purpose of the reference material I wanted and I'm not going to "fact check" all the recipes I need. I'll just cancel my sub and uninstall.

The Mixel app is my favorite tool behind the bar. I've used it to plan almost a hundred cocktail hours with friends. You can enter your own recipes, edit existing ones that are built into the app (from the best books like Death&Co., Cocktail Codex, and PDT), and filter down to just what you are looking for. It is a powerful database of cocktail recipes and ingredients. I highly recommend Mixel because it tells you what you can do with what you have and what you should get next.

I really like this app for a lot of reasons but I am not a fan of the subscription style when the main reason I'd pay is to unlock the additional recipes. This feels like it should be a separate purchase option but everything is behind a subscription wall. Please consider allowing one time purchase options for features that do not require additional support or maintenance. You could even release additional packages for purchase.

Would like a one time fee for more recipes. Also, it is kinda difficult to add ingredients. For one there, is no category for non-alcoholic ingredients and it is very easy to exit out of that mode by accident. Other than that, the app is very good. The drinks you get for free are enough to get you started. Would give it 5 stars if adding ingredients can be easier.

Great app, I am not sure about the value of the premium but it's reasonably intuitive and easy to use, and so good for storing details of my own created drinks and variations on standards. I don't like subscription model for something like this that is a static library, but paid for one year to throw them some $ and will evaluate in a year whether or not I am using the library of drink recipes more or just using it more for my own stuff.

I think this app is wonderful and my co-workers would agree. I would give this app 5 stars but it lacks the option to export data like bars stock and user entered cocktails and import them into other users mixel apps. Also the ability to back up the entered data would help. Other than that it's an extremely powerful tool for a bartender and cocktail enthusiast.
