This app is horrible to use. At least once a week, it shows no wifi connectivity. I have to go through the reconnection process multiple times before it finally connects again. And then a day or two later, I'm doing it again! I have an eero extender about 5 feet away from the unit. This is the only "device" in my house that can not maintain connectivity. Piece of junk!

Easy to install. But I don't know what this app does for me. Edit 9-13-2021. Was OK until the last update. Now won't stay connected. Uninstalled. Re installed after maintenance. It's working again on my phone. (note: suggesting I use my computer instead is not a solution). The app still crashes regularly and really doesn't provide that much information in the free version - pretty much tells you when it's running and how much it has run. I can't imagine paying $100 a year for "pro-version." 🤣

This app is pathetic. My generator was installed a few months ago and it was setup with this app by the technician. The operation of this app is spotty at best. It works for awhile, then for no apparent reason, it loses connectivity. Then if I go to the generator and press the button for the Wi-Fi menu, it searches and voila, it magically finds the network. My signal strength is 30%; more than enough to work reliably. There must a problem with software, hardware, or firmware. Fix it!

Boo! Just spent over an hour outside in the cold trying to set this up. Beware, your mobile device must be on the same wifi as the generator. My phone switched to our slower but stronger signal when I stepped outside. Not mentioned in set up. I was so happy when I figured it out and it finally connected. Only to find out later that the app requires a paid service. Seriously? After shelling out thousands for a Generac now they want more $? No way. I feel duped.

Update** The app is ok if you need only basic info about your generator. It's lacking in functionality, but there's some useful info there about my generator. My latest issue is that I can no longer sign in to my account. The website won't even allow me to reset my password. I used to be able to follow the link in the monthly email and see more info, but now can't sign in. And yes, my email and password are correct and have never changed. I ask for a reset email, and it never arrives.

I attempted several times to connect my generator to WiFi, using the instructions found after clicking the help link. Those instructions are WRONG and in no way resemble how you really do it, which I discovered by accident. I got it connected, but the app did not recognize this fact until I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I could easily go on about how bad the setup process is, but there is a limit to review length, so I must stop. I am not an idiot; I am a retired computer programmer.

Two different apps for setup and operations. this is the operatiosn one that gives very little info unless you pay for a subscription. I already paid more for the generator to have wifi and mobile link. no mention of the subscription fee until you buy, install and set up. THEN you're informed of additional fees. This app doesn't really matter because the set up app is garbage, constantly saying the password is incorrect for the wifi network, no help online either. Don't waste time or money on mobile link garbage, buy a generator that doesn't have it, no point in paying the extra for something that doesn't add value.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MOBILE LINK. You have to log back into app every day. Only text & e-mail alerts work, never receive in-app notifications. Alerts are delayed about 15 mins, which tech support thinks is normal. What's even worse is in a major storm it can take several days before you're notified. Completely unacceptable for the amount of money they charge.

This app is disappointing! It could be so much more. I don't really see any reason why you would pay for this. The most important feature that needs to be added is the ability to start and stop the generator! I would pay for that feature. Simple things like telling you how long the generator run time was, not just generator is running, generator has stopped. Not just a notification like maintenance needed, but an actual countdown of run hours left till maintenance is needed. Things like that.

App was difficult to set up. Basically they just want you to pay. Set up app, didn't use it for a couple weeks. When I needed it all it does is stick on connecting to mobile link and the words twitch like app is having a seizure. For the cost of this product you would think they might invest in better tech. App still is not connecting. Very poor quality product.

It is a huge pain to set up the connection, and after a few days it disconnects and you have to go through the entire setup process again. I've called several times and they keep blaming it on my wifi network, even though a quick Google search shows many others have the exact same issue. I have an access point close by and it's on my 2.4 Ghz guest network. None of my other devices have this issue, including much cheaper electronic devices. Ridiculous for a 10k piece of equipment.

I give it 2 stars because it worked for almost a year. The generator has wifi, but no matter how many times I reset, reconnect, or reboot, it won't communicate with the app. The generator IS connected to wifi, but it WON'T connect to the app. Officially useless now, except that the app reminds me every day that it can't connect to the generator. The sad part is that the developers don't seem to respond to issues or low ratings on the app.

3/2024 Does not stay connected to the generator. No notices for app updates.... no indication anything was wrong and when I tried to open the app it just spins.... it's still spinning. Not sure what the app is supposed to do beyond report mechanical issues.... but it failed to do that. The generator exercised recently and failed to inform us that the oil cap was lose or off and we ended having a catastrophic failure last night while the power was out. Update 5/26/25 the app is still spinning.

New user very disappointed. It crashes constantly. I have to uninstall and reinstall each time it crashes. Useless pos app. Update. Still a POS. Everytime the power goes out, the connection is lost with the router and it will not reconnect. I have been trying for 3 weeks with no success. I did reinstall the app.

it used to work fine. The past year plus it's worthless. using latest version it sits and spins. has no history. gives a good status. which is right sometimes. all notifications are on but changing anything is a waste of time. At least I'm getting email notifications when it exercises but those come from the web application link that pops when it's "ready to run" on the web it shows what it should, history etc. This app is worthless as is.

Only fails when needed. I've had to logout, restart, and reinstall several times to see status. Biggest issue is greedy money grab by Generac to only offer text notifications (absolutely no cost for them) with monthly subscription fee. I guess the $15,000 i paid for the unit and the $500/year i pay in maintenance isnt enough - they need that additional $3.99/month to do nothing. Don't avoid this app, avoid the company.

When I was first installing it the instructions were flat out wrong for the wifi connection (which was confirmed by customer support who gave me working instructions on the phone.) Probably that is already fixed, and once it was correctly connected it has completely met my needs. I put my cable modem and WiFi/LAN router on a small UPS, so they never have a surge or a brief unplanned outage even from loss of line power and the generator starting.

App very limited without premium subscription. No app for pc. For what these cost, the app should be fully functional. Note for those having difficulty with the app. I had downloaded & installed it before the genset was installed. Couldn't get it to work once the genset was installed. I finally got my brain working, uninstalled and reinstalled it, and after that it worked as it should.

I have had this generator several years, and now, for several days, I haven't been able to log into the app. it freezes at please wait while we process your information. I've un-installed the app multiple times, changed my password, and reconnected the generator to the WiFi. Nothing! very disappointed. The help links are not useful for this issue. I finally found a way on this page to ask for help. We will see.

So far, so good with the app info. I like that you can get email and/or text message notifications. But I DO think the price is quite high. **DOWNGRADED 6/1/25 from 4 stars to 2 stars. I haven't been able to open this app for months now. It just sits there spinning, saying This will only take a few Moments. 10 minutes later, it still says This will only take a few Moments.
