Reviews for Money Lover - Money Manager

I switched from the iPhone and was looking for a good, easy to use budget phone app. I downloaded about ten, and I liked this one the most so I bought premium, and while at first there were a few bugs, I worked past that and have found the app is extremely useful in tracking my finances. Update: still using it as of 8/6/19 and still loving it! I recommend it to everyone. Every week I do my budget and put it in here.

I've been using this app for years. But suddenly their transition to paid subscription only is a joke. Because the features they consider are free to use are a joke and I can do that on any note taking app. Sadly I'll be moving to the other options on the play store app catalog that will at least offer me so basic features for tracking finances.

The constant popups to buy the app were annoying. But now with downgrading the free version by moving some basic features to the paid version instead of improving the app (like seeing previous month transactions) it's too much. Also, the payment options are not clear. You got too greedy and now it's time to move to another budget app and leave this one.

I wish I didn't pay for this. The app design is fantastic, but then you get to the functioning portion of it and damn...why in the world is everything based per account? Categories are per account...budgets are per account (meaning if you send $20 on one card and $20 on another you won't hit a $40 budget)... it's so annoying and makes this a nightmare to configure.

I have been using the app for years and it is a great app for tracking all your expenses. There have been a few fumbles along the way due to updates, but right now it is solid. I really like the combined categories. Originally I was not a fan but over time I got to like them. Their support is good but a little on the slower side, so youmight have to wait a few days to get a response. Overall a great app and I like the 1 time payment option they have instead of a subscription.

I am a premium user and have used the app since 7 years ago. After the last large update I lost all my data. It was so frustrating! Prior to that large update, I used money lover religiously to keep track of my expenses and income. The multiple wallet function was great in that I was able to easily keep track of multiple accounts. If only they gave the option to revert it back to the last update so I could keep my data or give a way to successfully port the old data to the new update.

Previously had issues with wallet sharing but it looks fixed now. Also the introduction of tags addresses the need I had to include Events in the exports, so that's a nice change as well. Sync is still spotty at times though, specifically on shared wallets e.g. some transactions added on one phone nevwr syncs to other phone, even after telling the app to sync. Bumping up to 3/5 stars.

Tried so many expense tracking, budgeting apps but this one surpasses! I've been using the this for over 2 years now. Sync's across my phone and computer. From customizing categories and sub categories to adding who, what, where, when to each transaction. Go brief, go detailed your choice. Plus, download to your own Excel worksheet for added enjoyment for those of us who love working with our numbers. I upgraded to the premium, lifetime, for one low cost. Extremely worth it!!

I have enjoyed using this app to track my money for years, but recently I switched to a new phone. When trying to restore my recurring transactions, I found that I now can only have 1 recurring transaction without paying $35 for a premium account. That's pretty scummy for a feature that was once free and is standard in most money tracker apps. I will be switching to a new app to track my expenditures.

A good looking app compared to most but they want a up front payment of 16$ and a month subscription to do what the others do for free. they also advertise like hell. their website has articles about saving money. on mobile half the screen is covered with an ad telling you to get their app and pressing the X to remove it just makes it shift slightly. doesn't remove it. In the middle of the article writen into it they advertise a icon package that you can buy on their app for 5$ sorry (4900 coins)

Good app but I has been felling behind to other apps, I have use it for a few years and I feel like it is not evolving. In my opinion a game changer would be the option to import information on a file, it is very difficult to catch up when you miss a few days and just adjusting is not the best option because you lose track of where the money went, I hope this can be added.

Update: back to more issues and support takes ages with no useful response (i don't get why recurring transactions and bills are bot synced across device, ot shouldn't be that hard, also if you add any of them then reinstall the app you're screwed because you can't access them but they still show up, no way to edit or delete at that point). 10 days and my ticket is still pending, all i got is that this is a rare bug ( i have been a customer for years, very disappointed with this )

My favorite finance tracker app! Well laid out, good customization options, and a one-time paid upgrade option at a reasonable price. Only issue: first, there's no easy way to make the spending categories the same for all accts, so you either have to do this manually, or you have to deal with a confusing spending overview. I also wish there was a "location" or "store" field in the details, and some way to split transactions.

I originally used the desktop version for work to manage larger budgets for the year. (I got sick of Excel.) I liked it enough to get the Android version for my home use. The icons are pretty, the charts are simple and easy to read, and I like that you can have subcategories. I'm just beginning to explore the bills and budget section. I log transactions manually (personal preference), so I can't speak to what it's like to connect a bank acct. So far, the app has been very pleasant to use. 😊

For $4.99, I get as many "wallets" as I want, category customization, a built-in calculator to enter costs, and budget guides, target wallets, loan and repayment lists, AND credit wallets to track all purchases. And did I mention that this is a one-time payment for 100 years? There are icon collections to purchase, or you can stick with just the basic version with just a limited wallet. I will give five stars when Android gets dark mode though, otherwise, perfect!

Easy to use and convenient! Not bombarded with ads either! After years of using it keeps crashing and won't open... i uninstalled and reinstalled (lost all my finance info as it didn't sync not a big deal). Started from scratch without any extra icons and it worked for about a week and is crashing again... Disappointed I'm going to have to find a new app... It could just be my phone, but don't know. Update; money lover doesn't sync any recurring transactions or bills...

6/7/20 After an update today now I can't enter spending. Also, once you entered and saved. You can't not changed the wallet. Previously I was able to made changes. Bring that back. After this update I lost about 4 years of data. Thanks a lot. Please have ways to separate each year spending or combine year option. Once this feature been added then I'll give it 4 star plus. Also it really hard to use at first with category.

Was 4-5 stars until recently. Having multiple problems including: expenditure description opening random parts of app when trying to type in description, upgrade options not loading, "contact us" not working, and potentially not syncing? Keeps saying "tap here to sync" at the top but the button doesn't work and it won't go away. Disappointed as this was a great app and I was considering purchasing the upgraded version. Update: That glitch fixed. However, I have one scheduled monthly bill that comes out on the same day each month. I have only added it once. For the last few months it has been showing it as an expense x5 from my account. I have to go through and delete all of the duplicates each time. Also, I keep having to choose "wallet" with each transaction. It used to default to one of them and now it will not.

Suddenly, the in-app notifications of new entries from another person in your family don't work anymore. I receive an app notification if a new entry gets created, but then, when I click on the list of notifications in the app, i can't see no new entry. This made our app useless, since we can't see what other people enter. EDIT problem still exists Also, dates between iOS app and Android app are different by 24h, breaking all the monthly budgets. Cust Service and devs can't solve these issues

I accidentally bought the premium version as an in-app purchase because Google offered me $1 off and I was just trying to get more info (fingerprint purchase). Tried to refund within minutes (you have two hours if the purchase is through the store) but couldn't because it was an IAP. E-mailed the developer immediately and was told they can't refund me because it's "too difficult". I paid $7 for an app that I used for all of 5 minutes before uninstalling.
