I haven't used the app for some time, so I don't remember the password I used. Naturally, I made multiple attempts and eventually engaged customer service for assistance as i was unable to reset the password. Their response was that "they're uncomfortable with my activities." Therefore, my access has been revoked for good . No further explanation, no opportunity for password reset . . .

updated my review from 1 star to 5 stars. Reason being, is that, I tried logging on to the app, through my computer and it gave me the customer service number to call. So when I did, they just wanted to make sure I was who I claimed to be. I'm verified, now I'm good.■ Especially at a time where you can't leave your home, not only did they increase their prices but now, I can't even log in. Keeps saying errors on their end. I always use them, so I will uninstall reinstall and see what happens.

It didn't used to be this way but now every time I send money it always tells me 'the exchange rate has changed'. It never changes and goes higher. Without fail it always changes and goes lower. I'm adding on to my post and raising the rating to 2. The same problem is still occurring. MoneyGram itself is a pretty solid app but when I log straight into it to see the right exchange rate even after that it lowers when I go to send it. I can log out and then back in it will stay the same.

I have used moneygram for years. all of a sudden, each time I send money, it will process it and generate a reference number. However, an hour later, my transaction is canceled. I get an email with no reason why. Customer service can never give a reason why its happening of late .Worst of all, there's possibly up to a 10 day wait to receive a refund of your money. I deleted the app and moved on to Western Union.

Update 7/24/24 - App hasn't worked in over a week, and I haven't heard from MoneyGram as to why it's down. I'm guessing Crowdstrike issues, but a heads up would be appreciated. I've been trying to send money and haven't been able to. I sent an email to support so hopefully this gets fixed asap. My previous rating was 5 stars but now after lack of communication and resolve about the issue, I have changed to 1. Way easier, cheaper, and better than waiting in line at a store. It's a great app.

Very unreliable. It often takes multiple tries to log in. Tells me that I don't have an account when I do. Currently says MoneyGram System down "It's not you its us" Even happens on the website. It takes days or hours of trying to get it to go through. Plus I had to pay for it. Much quicker to just go to the store to send money. Definitely would not recommend.

Works great but be prepared. I really like the convenience of this app. But be prepared. The 1st transaction goes smooth. Very smooth. The 2nd transaction is when they do their due diligence in verifying your ID. So be prepared to give it up. It takes a few minutes longer while the verify your ID. After that it gets easier. The 3rd transaction they send a verification code to your email that you must confirm. Have realistic expectations about your privacy versus convenience.

Don't use the app or send money using this company , the app keeps logging me out in the process of a transaction, and then lock me out. Every time I log back in, I have to reset my password even though I input the correct password the first time. Customer service is the worst. In the middle of chatting with them, if they dn't want to answer your questions, they just block you out, so you can't send them messages and the hat times out and logs you out. You can never get anything resolved.

Firstly I try to sign up with the app, then it going to say I can't because of the phone number that I'm using. Days I've searched the net for their customers service number to contact them. When I finally decided to change it to another number enter all the info required; say the last step their going to say that after evaluating my profile they can't send through the transaction. I definitely don't recommend this app. It keep asking to re-enter password. This app needs a whole lot of work.

Take heed!!! Either go to the store to do your transaction or use another outlet. The 1st transaction went smoothly. However, the 2nd transaction came with a personal questionnaire. On top of the questionnaire, I had to call customer service and was asked the same questionnaire questions repeatedly. I was highly annoyed and became even more annoyed when my receiver was given the runaround. It's a pain in the ssa!! I will not use again!!!

Bad bad bad bad experience!!!! I just create an account, then when I tried to sign in it says incorrect password, until it ended up that my account has been locked. So I call the costumer service number hoping to solve the problem but it didn't. They're saying I'm no longer able to do online transaction and find the location branch near me if I want to. Seriously!!!! Is this your way to solve the problem?

???? moneygram, after I made one just one transaction through the app they closed my damn account and I just signed up about a week ago. Now they have my credit card info so if anything is missing out of my bank account I know who to report. Do not use this app for any kind of transactions and very poor customer service. Note: When you call customer service they will NOT tell you why they closed your account "for security reasons" is all they say.

As for the new update, beware when sending money internationally like to Central America where all 4 receiver's names are required to withdraw the money. As a registered user I logged in and started a new transaction, since all my previous receivers vanished I assume because of the fresh App, no biggie! I typed in all 4 names of my receiver as I've had this hiccup in the past with name not as is on ID, the problem is when I got the transaction receipt with the reference number, there's only 2 names...first and last! Needless to say it was disappointing, so I thought no worries I will call and have it fix. Called the customer service number and some lady argued with me saying I only typed 2 names and the only solution was to cancel the transaction, but here's the best part...it takes 3-10 business days to get your money back.

Worst customer service ever. As much as I loved how easy it was to send money, I have not been able to send anything for a month because I keep getting an error message that my last name on my profile and rewards account doesn't match. 4 phone calls later ( 2 on 5th of April, 1 on the 7th, and 1 on 12th), emailing them on the website, live chat on the app, emailing mgoescalations and it still hasn't been fixed.

This app usually works fine. My only problem is that the app will let a payment go through which is over the # of payments per period of time. Then Moneygram keeps your money, and won't initiate a refund until you call and ask for it. If this payment is one to many for the week, month, day, etc., then don't take my money in the first place, and certainly don't wait for me to initiate a refund for a payment that you will never process to the buyer.

Closed my account when trying use. I used it once with success. On the second attempt, it stated they needed my ID in which I provided. It then said after review, my account had been closed and and transaction canceled and I would have to go into the store. Whats the purpose of the app if I can't use it! Highly disappointed. There is no customer service either to get more information.

Hi I enjoy what your product does but it is very glitchy. I went to make a new account and I would never be able to finish making my account because it said there was "an issue with server on our own". I had to go your website on my PC to find out the reason was because I was trying to use a password that was over 20 characters. There was no warning telling me I couldn't, only on the browser version. Also why limit it to 20; there can't be a reason to try and save data in place of security.

Update: I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it once again, and the same thing keeps happening. It only works the 1st time. The app does not work, it just freezes when you add the amount you want to send. I have uninstalled it and installed it and it works only once. I have also cleared the cache to get it to work sometimes. I recommend just going to the website.

Do not email customer service. I had a problem with a transfer. I couldn't find a way to call moneygram so I sent an email. The response said it would take several days so I used the chat. It was resolved quickly with chat. I responded to the email saying it was resolved. Moneygram kept emailing me about it until the bank blocked the money in the recipient's account. At the same time moneygram emailed me saying they couldn't do anything. Just make sure you don't make any mistakes or need help.

When sending money from U.S. the middle name and second last name aren't visible in other countries' systems. My sister was rejected 4 times in the same transaction, each time the line was 3+hrs (to pick up the money). Solution: Cram as many names as possible using only first and last name spaces in their system. The least that Moneygram should do is give us 4 free transactions, since it's your system's fault.
