Not only is the app difficult to navigate and use, the company placed free stocks to prevent me from closing my account. I had already withdrawn all my own funds, but when I tried to close my account, the company started bouncing emails back and forth asking me to withdraw a small sum (about $2) that the company itself put in my account, saying it couldn't fulfill my request due to funds in account. Terrible experience with this app.
Reviews for moomoo: Investing & Trading
← Back to moomoo: Investing & Tradingit's ok my biggest issue is it's very sluggish when filling orders and checking p/l depending on what indicators you use it might not be there way better than robinhood but webull is far better which is crazy cause i think they're under the same company update 10/2/25 i have to change this to a 1 star i tried to sell a position when i was up 80% and would let me sell no matter what the buy and sell were greyed out but the moment it was almost break even i was able to sell what a horrible app
Not good for beginners apparently doesn't represent real time prices? and doesn't tell you about it so you'll try to sell at the reported price (after market open) and it just won't go through because the price listed isn't even accurate. this on top of no instant deposit unless you go thru boa or 1 other. go use robinhood I'll probably transfer to kraken and try that I'd put 0 stars if i could they cost me about 200- 400% profit based on their false advertising.
No dashboard to speak of and incredibly hard to navigate. Even simple trades is like a choose your own adventure. Not to mention the ghastly lay out, looks like the Temu of trading apps. Ads and pop ups for points which I have NFI what they do?? Thought I'd give it a try as they are CHESS sponsored and you can trade options (still yet to execute an options trade, because well, see above) Fix you UX please. It's awful!
Only signed up for a promotional offer and they won't honor the promotional offer code I received. There is always some "System Error" when entering a promo code. Edit: Since this review, I finally got the promotional credit. Except it doesn't work. Even tried depositing more money into the account to trigger the credit so it would work like it's supposed to. It doesn't. Moomoo is a scam plain and simple. I'll keep using USA based financial institutions for investing instead of Chinese scammers.
The charts rock! Click on a candle to see that day; scroll back several years; can see unadjusted prices. Moomoo also gives prompt SEC filing notifications for watchlist stocks. The only thing I've found lacking is Realized P/L for sold equities. Gotta figure it out manually or wait for your statement. 🧐 And it seems limit orders turn into market orders once limit price is hit (a Limit Buy was filled higher than my limit price 🤨). But mostly, it's a fantastic trading app.
Not for beginners.. I hope experienced people have better luck. It doesn't feel very honest to me finding the info I'm seeking is hard, such as how to deposit funds back to my bank account. Super easy to get your money on their site, just fishy. Im closing because I'm not comfortable with the interface, it's not organized for average people to understand.
Very good app overall. I have a few brokers I use and find myself using this one the most. Lots of info available and easy to find. At first you will find it a bit hard to navigate. But as time goes on you will start to see how much this app has to offer. The only thing that really sucks with this app is the money transfers. I can transfer my money over to Robinhood instantly with no fees. Moo moo on the other hand will take days! If this will change I will use moomoo as my main broker.
There always seems to be an issue withdrawing funds and it takes a long time before you find out there's an issue. Update, I've been following their directions and they still have thousands of mine. Tomorrow will be 1 month since I deposited money in there and I have not gotten it back despite being in contact often with customer service. Very frustrating. Update - almost 1 1/2 months, been in contact with customer service, many times. Still have not got my money back.
I have been using Moomoo for multiple months, but there came a point where I removed all but $100 of my capital from the app. Reason being: numerous times my profit-taker order price limit was reached, but the order didn't fill, while simultaneously canceling my stop-loss order. So essentially you're left with no downside protection AND your limit order didn't fill. Aside from order execution issues it is an excellent resource for research, market updates, and learning. Plus free L2 NYSE data.
Great app to do stocks. My only concern is that this app needs more support in having a variety of banks listed. Not enough banks to choose from. Wire transfer is the only way to do if bank is not listed. Only problem is this app wants to charge you $1,000 for a wire transfer. In my opinion, that is too much money to wire transfer. I would prefer to use my bank account, but my bank is not listed within their criteria.
The latest versions of their app has *removed* the last price purchase option, rather than just include it with other options. Unless you manually enter the price, the app correctly warns you that your price is higher than the last price for a security. Every time I selected "mid", the entered price was higher than the last price, especially after regular trading hours. I previously gave 5 stars and now I am moving my account to another platform, which has "last price" among other options.
Just wanted to download the app to see the layout and feel off it. Personally not for me, but the only reason I give it the stars us because they don't have an option to delete your account on the app. Have to email them and wait. I've also tried out Public, Webull, and sofi, along with a few others. This is the only one that doesn't give you the option to deactivate your account on the app. Not sure why.
This app is great, a worthy alternative to the others (especially "that one"- you know what one I'm talking about)... It has social functions built right in, price tracking, analysis, options, almost anything you could want from a trading app. A few minor issues- crashes every so often (usually when I open a comment with a picture), doesn't have cryptos, and the price charts are a little complicated
I don't even know where to begin.. Don't. Just don't. If you're looking for easy trades, quick deposits and quick withdrawals after the sell, this is not the app for you! Takes DAYS after you sell for the funds to be available for withdrawal. And I never received any of the 'free' things offered for signing up or linking my bank either. Not a user friendly app or up to date platform.
Being new to trading and investing, this app has been a great help for the most part. Being able to learn the basics of trading and investing through the provided lessons is a good touch. But maybe dumbing it down a little and explaining all the abbreviations and lingo so the average person can catch on a little better. All the different references and how they interact or differ is mind blowing. Maybe some more cash or stock rewards would be nice. Otherwise it's been a good app. Thanks guys!
2 stars for the educational information alone. I had 5-6 calls, multiple texts, and emails bugging me. Even AFTER turning off all notifications, alerts, and blocking several phone numbers. If I wanted help getting started I would ask for it. If a person says they want to get a feel for things on the app before taking the plunge that doesnt mean KEEP PESTERING THEM. Uninstalled, good riddance.
No covered call options trading. If I own 100 shares of a stock, sell a call, and it gets exercised, Moomoo will use MARGIN instead of the stocks I own. Covered calls and cash covered puts are the reason I came here. It really sucks because this app has so much potential, much better interface than Fidelity. Edit: There might be covered calls now... Not certain. Also, the data and research ability is better than any platform I've seen yet. From 2 up to 4 stars, mainly due to research potential.
I honestly don't know how the people whom have bad experiences are having them. It's a great app for me, love the layout, all of the technical and fundamental info provided, and the ability to watch time and sales with multiple charts at once. Yeah, it takes some getting used to and definitely isn't for beginners, but I think the tools available are worth any strife. Been my go to since January and never had an issue. Even customer service replies promptly.
Unusable I keep verifying my bank, it goes thru just fine. But when I try to transfer money into moomoo it doesn't work at all. App has too many problems to use! No reply from moomoo on this issue, my bank verifies then after transferring money, I get an email saying bank couldn't verify??? Which is it? Not dealing with a brokerage that can't even be bothered to reply to reviews.
