Reviews for Moon+ Reader Pro

This is by far the best epub reader I've used, and I've tried everything I could get my hands on. It can open every common ebook format, use custom fonts, and override the css in any book. The interface is easy to learn, and the paging controls are both easy to use and customize. The one thing it does once in a while is forget how long a page is. This happens after some type of resolution change or screen resize, from what I can tell. If you switch between landscape and portrait then back, it returns to normal.

Awesome app! I have used it for quite a while now. Just love it. Very customizable. The only thing I am having trouble with is the text to speach timer. I accidentally checked the box that says, "Don't show this again" and now I can't turn it back on. I use the timer feature a LOT. Even as an alarm so I won't want to listen to just a little more before... 😁 You can set any time on it which is great! Developers please make it an easy option to get to. Found fix. Thanks for help!

Probably the best ereader app I have found. Fast, very customizable, and I love the ability to sync across devices. I'm leaving 4 stars because there is a very strange behavior: I have my library stored in a folder structure on my device and all the books imported into the Moon+ Reader app. When I open a book from within the app, everything works fine, but when I open a book from the android file manager, Moon+ Reader creates a copy of the file in a new 'Moonreader/attachments' folder, and opens it from there. Not only does this create duplicate files on my device, it also creates duplicates in the Moon+ Reader shelf. I don't want Moon+ Reader to manage my files for me. There should be an option to turn this off. It would also be nice to have the option to turn off the animations when bringing up the menu bar or opening a footnote for e-ink devices.

Pretty great. Love the customization of this app and supports all the formats I throw at it. Really, the best PDF reader in the playstore. Unfortunately, for dictionaries, it doesn't work well. I try using the Dictionary App, but keeps telling me to download it, even though it is already on my device. Edit: So, I tried the suggestion for it to work and it kinda works...kinda because when you tap the "Dict," nothing happens. If you go back, it will launch the search for the word 3-5 times.

This is a great app, and I'd give it 5 stars, but it has a few problems that I can't seem to find a fix for. 1.) I use this app on my kindle, and when looking at my library with the all filter on, nearly every single book cover is blurry, yet when I look at my library with the reading or finished filter on, none are blurry. Can't figure this one out. 2.) I can't find a way to display book names or author names while in library mode. Not a big deal, but the ui definitely isn't perfect.

The "blue light reduction" doesn't actually reduce blue light. If it did the screen color would shift more to the red. Instead it just makes things more opaque, so that part is pretty useless on a phone or tablet, if that's what you're looking for. The rest is extremely customizable, though. I have it installed on my Likebook Mars, and it works great. It's way better for organizing and reading my ebooks than the stock reader.

I still enjoy this app after seven years. But. When changing devices, or using multiple devices, I wish this app had more integration. It would be really cool if my progress reading through books was synchronized across devices so I could maybe read some on my phone, and, as long as it has a connection to update the cloud status, continue reading from where I left off on my tablet. Even just the ability for book progresses to be transferred across devices when I am setting up a new phone.

Edit: I contacted the developer and worked out, so this is great! No issues anymore. While this is probably the best reader out there, and I love the customixation features that no others have, one little thing bothers me much more than it should: if you use custom fonts that arent included with the app, it renders them woth fake bold and fake italics, even if you have the bold and italics in the same folder. It really makes the book seem a lot less professional.

The app is the best reader I have seen, has all the features that I want and probably more than I don't know of. In active development with updates all the time. Only glitch I've seen is with the dictionary, I bought Oxford dictionary to use together with this app, but after an update either there or here it is no longer seeing that the app is installed. The solution is to select it from "other apps" but that results in having to pick which dictionary I want to use every time I look up a word.

The coolest reader app I've found! It was exactly what I was looking for to replace the read out loud feature from my Kindle. I even tried a PDF of some poor hand printing, and it did its best to read it! Not a robotic reader, this app sounds almost natural. You can speed the voice up pretty fast, as you get used to listening to it, and you can read faster by listening than by using your eyes. That was something my Kindle could not do.

I have used this app for over 8 years. While it is great for the most part, it's gotten a glitch I can't solve. The TTS sound quits broadcasting over bluetooth while it remains "reading" without sound in the car. Forcing the connection again fixes it, but since the latest update, it's frequency has increased. 3 times in 10 minutes. Old solutions don't apply, and I've removed background limits on things. It's about to drive me crazy.

Super customizable viewing, controls, and highlighting that you can set to work just how you want them. Excellent text to speech (turns any book into an audiobook!). I've used this everyday for many years. I haven't found a better ebook reader for Android. I wish it were available for my computer too! I just upgraded phones and I was so happy that I could migrate my whole library, bookmarks, highlights, notes, and preferences in a flash. The popular ReadEra Premium has way fewer features.

I've always updated this program. But now the font size is set at 10 and the letters are 1/2 inch tall. I've changed fonts to no avail rendering this reader mostly useless. I can use it in text to speech only but audio is NOT always wanted. I can load files into other readers and the text size is fine. Perhaps I can sideload an older version, hopefully avoiding a virus. This was my only reader necessary for years and years. Not now.

I paid for this app years ago and have never regretted it. I don't know why it took me so long to leave a review. Tonight I noticed the "name replacement" feature for the first time and omg what a game changer! If the book I'm reading has a love interest who shares his name with an ex, (or worse, my own son!) I can just change it throughout the whole book with a couple of clicks! It's AMAZING! Love the app so much that I have a Kindle Paperwhite that just collects dust, the poor thing. 5 stars!

This is an excellent reading app. I would like to make a suggestion, but i have no idea how difficult it would be to implement. I have always wanted to be anlento annotate more organically with a stylus. Basically, I'd like to draw over the text to underline, highlight, or even write in the margins. I saw this is a feature of the Kobo Libre color, but I'm not ready to buy a new device for reading yet. It would be cool if Moon+ Reader could do this.

Best e-book reader app in my opinion for Android. There is only one thing lacking and that is the inability to create an entire new shelf like for the show all books. By that I mean I would love the ability to import all my sci-fi and fantasy books to their own shelf. Then create another entirely new shelf to easily import all my nonfiction history books.

I upgraded from the free version to pro because I liked the free version but wanted some of the pro features. Unlike the free version, the pro version does not let me read a book when I'm not connected to the internet. It shows an error page saying "You're offline" from the Google Play store. I can't find any information on how to fix this. I'm going back to the free version. Very disappointing. Update 9/5: Tried clearing storage, it still says "You're offline" when started.

The app performs its core functions well, but the settings menu UX is convoluted and would benefit from a major overhaul. The settings are scattered everywhere. Some seem to only be available through search(?). A centralized settings menu from which all settings in the app could be accessed would make a huge difference in usability.

Love this app! It's my favorite epub reader. Now that my book collection is growing, its becoming cramped because the novels I read have multiple volumes in a series. one thing I haven't seen is a way to sort the books in the library by series. More specifically, each series is put in mini-folders like the way the "Groups" feature works and displayed that way in the "All Books" section. I could do it manually by using the groups feature but it would be nice as an automatic sort option.

Excellent e-pub & PDF reader which provides for underlining in any color, highlighting in any color, notes, copy & paste, categorizing books, easy navigation, etc., etc., etc. Can be customized to suit your needs. Highly recommend it. For my purposes, the only way it could be better is if two books could be open at the same time with the ability to navigate back and forth between them. UPDATE: Pro Crashes every time when completing editable PDF. Uninstalling.
