Reviews for Moon+ Reader

Literally the best ebook reader I've ever used. I've used this one for a year now. Most ebook readers I've tried don't have the scroll option, which this one has. One suggestion, when you remove a book from your recently read shelf, can you make it so that it also disappears from the bookmark shelf? I want to do that sometimes but in order to do that, I would have to delete my bookmarks themselves as well, and I just want to keep my annotations, while temporarily removing it from my shelf

It doesn't display covers correctly, and shows the 2nd or 3rd page of like half the books or comics. Also, a lot of the time only 1 or 2 books/comics from a series will be shown despite all of them being in the same folder and working in other apps. Plus, instead of giving each book or comic series their own section on the book shelf, it just throws every volume of every series together. Lastly, it doesn't sort by title correctly, despite my filenames and metadata being correct.

Great reader, I've been using it for about a year, and it pretty much does everything I'm looking for in an e-book reader. However: * The UI can be a bit cumbersome, but I imagine it must be difficult to cram so many features, into an app, and get the UI "polished" on the first iterations * The way/place books are stored is extra clunky to me (IT Consultant for over 25 years). As others have also pointed out, I don't believe that you can store the e-books on a memory card and have MReader access them. Rather the books are copied back to the internal storage on the phone/tablet, using precious space, instead of very little space on the inserted SD card (mine is 64GB). * With recent updates (I hadn't read in a few months, and just cranked up my tablet, noticing that the MReader is now at 5.0) the ads seem like they're popping up a LOT more .... annoyingly so ... I'm considering spending the $5 and getting the Pro version, but am going to check out some of the alternatives before I do ... All in all, 4 stars

Great reader, good customizations, supports endless scrolling within a chapter. Can leave the device navigation buttons on the bottom so getting out to do something else or reply is easy. Only issue is that adding files is always difficult. The file structure the device has isn't the same as I can see with a different file browser app. I have no idea where to put files to add and it's a struggle every time I want to add books.

Admittedly, if I could, I'd give this four and a half ⭐. That's only because of the fact of the ads. Despite that this is the fabulous ebook reader. It handles so many different types of books, and so many ways to customize it. Different color backgrounds, different image backgrounds, and different color themes. Plus the ability to customize the toolbar is very very handy. Get it to try it out, and I think you'll love it. Then upgrade to Pro to if you hate ads.

Very good once the Blue Light issue is handled. If the app is appearing yellow/beige no matter what you do, the One UI/Android is automatically applying a Blue Light filter to the reader even though you have it turned off. Go to "Blue Light Filter" and select "Turn on now". Set the Opacity slider all the way to the left. That got rid of the yellowing or beige look for the app.

I've only used the app for a few hours, but so far i enjoy it, both because of the large number of settings and the free books sites. But my larger than normal phone (galaxy s8+) causes some books to display wrong in potrait mode, every two lines theres a paragraph, it goes away in landscape, but sorta weird feeling reading like that. This problem isn't limited to this app, i just happen to be leaving a review because i like everything else about this one, and i'm hoping the devs will fix this.

This E-reader is awesome! It took me a while, but I finally figured out how to word-wrap. I like how the font-size can be adjusted, and I do not have to scroll left and right, to read the enlarged text. The main thing is comfortable reading. You even included decimal fractions, for the font. One improvement suggestion is, to put the word-wrap option, as a part of the demo, for when the program is first installed. Say that you cater, for the hard to see. But, what do I know, lol. ExcellentReader!

The app is wonderful. So many customization options, dark mode, blue light filter! The ONLY problem is I cannot get rid of the progress bar! When I open the options (by tapping the middle of the screen) a bar pops up and it is the progress bar that is the bane of my existence. I'm reading a webnovel that is the equivalent of four books (roughly 30000 pages), and I have, more than once, hit the progress bar thinking it was the brightness level and completely lost my spot in my book!

I've been using Moon+ for a very long time and I currently have it installed on three devices. Unfortunately they all are Android 4.04 and have recently been updated to version 4.5.2 and all of them are experiencing the same problem. The problem is that when I select the Miscellaneous settings option, instead of displaying that options page, the reader returns to to the local files page where my Epub files reside and I must re-select the file in order to continue reading. This is very annoying because there are changes to the miscellaneous options I would like to make, but it's been impossible. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The best ereader I've come across. My favorite part is where it tells you how fast you read but I can't seem to find it on my own. Pages transition smoothly. Keeps your place. Filters keep your eyes from straining. Time limits on reading if you wish to use them. Reads multiple file types. One of my first downloads on any new devices. Great job devs.

I've always used Moon + Reader and I did pay for it at one point in time on another account and I highly recommend this app if your using pdf, epub, mobi, etc. It's a great app, and of course there's a couple ads after closing the story but it's the basic app not the pro, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'm hoping that there's a sale soon so I can buy it.

I can live with an ad when I close a book. What I find annoying is that the text of any buttons in the ad is in Czech! Also, I tried to download cover art. Again, the instructions and button text is all in Czech. I tried using Google to translate some text and thought I found a 'Save' button, but I didn't get the cover art. Is there any way to get the text in English? UPDATE: I have been hunting for a 'Languge' option for weeks. Perhaps it should be higher up in the menus.

Honestly love this app. You can change the cover, text to speech, read offline with your own things, favorite, no adds (for me at least. I didn't pay btw), manage the font, color, style, highlight, and more. The best app in my opinion to read from. Few minor things is that you can't have like separate collections besides favorite them, change the names, and it's a little tricky to understand how the functions work (easy once you figure it out took me like 5 min?) besides that it's wonderful!

Wow. Decided to try after seeing so many "best reader ever" reviews. In & out of the settings trying to get it to import & after about 10 mins I thought something was wrong. It finally saw them after about 15 mins. I was only testing with 13 books, so I'm concerned if it would recognize/import everything in my extensive library. Says it can read CBR files. Tried to import additional files & it never saw them at all this time. Says it "supports multiple online book sites" but none of them are common sites (like Hoopla, Overdrive, local library). Changed the theme to night, lost all my covers & can't seem to get them back. It turned them into wallpapers with the same tiny font, so I can't see at a glance what the books are. Doesn't support drm-protected books. If there's a way to "go to", see chapters or search a book I can't find it. Supposedly has all these customization features, but can't find any of them. If they're not available in the free version then they should be listed in the Pro benefits. Finally, I get free has ads, but DAMN every single time you go out of a book? I don't have to deal with such aggressive ads in other apps. Don’t get how people think this is so great.

Beats Google Books!!! Sometimes with a new epub file, Google Books would upload it to the cloud and get stuck in processing (maybe to fail an half hour later) Not with MoonReader since it accesses my files locally. it also has a more customizable interface (which seems difficult at first) which is quite easy to set up and use. bye bye Google Books 📚

Just wow! I've been using PocketBook e-reader for the many years now, and it's still a great app but I wanted a reader that supported folding phones so I could do a 2 page book layout, and this has all the features I loved from PB and more. I love that you can edit the book data and covers, and the customization for the actual reading is just perfect. Love this so much I had to leave a review!! I'll be getting the pro version soon, but even the ads are nice, 1 ad for 48 hours unlock is so fair

I'm extremely disappointed, I've been using moon+ reader for years and I've always loved the text to speech feature. Recently it's started telling me it's only available with the pro app. I went to download it because I'd looked at it before but hadn't felt the need to purchase since the free version had all my books already on the shelves. I went to buy it today so I could use the voice feature and they DOUBLED the price over this last week. Feels like a grab for money.

I really prefer this app to Play Books or whatever but it's really hard to categorize and tag books (like the UI is just not very intuitive or easy to find these features in). and the ads are getting to be a bit much. I don't think I've had an ad come up while I'm reading, but trying to sort and organize my books is a nightmare, I get an ad after basically each action I take. it has all the other features I'm looking for, and for free that's cool, so I still think it deserves 4* but I may switch

A masterclass in terrible software design. This is really more of a toolbox to create your own e-reader via a dizzying array of configuration options, which are initially set to defaults that maximize user confusion. It's also unfortunate that upgrading to the pro version simply to avoid ads requires reconfiguring everything and re-importing all of one's books. Still, once you've configured everything, it's a decent enough experience.
