Reviews for Moovit: Your Transit Tracker

This app is a lifesaver! I'm thankful this app exists and works so well. But the ads... the pop-up ads.... the video ads that take 10 seconds to skip... they're unacceptable. If I need to show my screen/ticket to the bus driver, I'm wasting everyone's time trying to get out of the ad!! I've had my finger off the screen and multiple times now the ad has clicked itself and opened a webpage! I've been out of the app and it's opened the same ad's web page! Definitely looking for alternatives.

I hate leaving reviews, but it needs to be said. The level of ads I get are ridiculous, even for a free app. Some ads have a tendency to force install THEIR OWN app, which is super annoying an even shady. It does what it says, so install it if you need it for that...just expect ads! Lots and lots of ads (and some that force install)!

Unusable! With everything you have to agree to in order to even use the app it's clearly for harvesting your data and selling ad space. The map doesn't fully show, it's slow to load, it doesn't recognise complete/correct addresses. I hardly ever go out of my way to leave a bad review, but this is really just a useless app. Don't bother!

I keep getting the error message that planning a journey between regions is not supported. I'm selecting 2 locations in a major American city that are about a mile apart. How close to locations have to be to be supported by this app???? It's not very useful if it only supports locations less than a mile apart! (And it's not user error. I tried entering address, tried id-ing on the map, checked and rechecked the addresses.... same error message.) Useless.

The app is alright but needs work. When people want to catch a bus or a train they want fast access to a schedule for at least the next 3 busses or train leaving. I had trouble finding fast access. The UI also needs work. Please, remember that there are a lot of "Baby boomers" without the tech know how. I'm sure your app is helping lots of people all over the world because it's a good app but fast access to where you want to go and easy maneuvering would make this app even better. Thank you guys

Unreliable information. Shows non existing rout Of bus lines. Cost me more than once an entire day's schedule. Poor information quality. They don't cross reference or verify information. Wouldn't trust them with my credit Information. *edit As it happens to be, I did have to give them my credit info since I was looking for a carpool. Of course it didn't go through (unreliable) and no payment was made. Now they make it a hassle to remove my credit card. Only use it for lack of better choice

I get that this app is ad-supported, but the ads make the app unusable. Ads take up half the screen and if you go anywhere near them, a webpage opens up. And when you need to use the app quickly, Fullscreen ads for video games open up and you can't skip them for a long time. I just missed my bus because I couldn't wade through the ads quickly enough. There is a paid version, but until I see the app actually succeed at something, I'm not signing up for a subscription.

Difficult-to-use app with lots of very invasive ads. I downloaded it because a Google search for a bus route in Costa Rica came up with a page on their website which wouldn't show me enough information without installing the app. But when I installed the app, none of the links from the website worked, and it took me a long time (and lots of ads) to figure out where the information was in the app. In fact I still can't find what I really wanted.

I've been using this app for literal years and I still think it's amazing, but the amount of ads now is insane. I'm fine with banner ads, and maybe a full screen ad after you've gotten to where you need to go, but full screen ads whenever you do anything?? That's just too much. I was even hoping there was a fee I could pay to get rid of the ads like in most apps, but that doesn't even exist. This is the best public transportation app I've used, please let me use it.

Great app. Terrible SUBSCRIPTION plan options! I would gladly pay a reasonable set price for this. I don't know why everyone is getting on the subscription model! It must be a great way to guarantee a steady flow of income... I'm not into that. Edit 3/15/23: Again, issue is not with app remain free, issue is with METHOD of payment. If you provide a set reasonable price to purchase the app, I would gladly buy it. I just don't like that a lot of apps are forcing people into another subscription.

full of bugs. sometimes I enter a location and it shows just a blank screen with no routes. even for my favorites and saved locations. the ads are nonstop and make the app impossible to deal with. especially right at payment for the ride, when there are people behind me waiting. also, I need to keep the notification settings on, so I can get notified when to get off at my stop, but then throughout the day I keep getting random notifications, about updates for routes, that I never take.

This used to be a great app but now there's so many ads that it's unuseable. Every search you get an ad. If you go back to see alternative routes you get an ad. If you close your phone and reopen you get an ad. I've missed buses before because, when I open the app to confirm the right bus number, an ad pops up so I can't see if it's the right bus. Some of the ads even have fake 'x's that rather than closing the ad, take you to the Playstore to download some other app. Use Google maps instead.

It's an incredibly useful app, but recently I'm getting a lot of ads. I understand that an app needs to make money, but the ads are way too frequent, popping in random steps, covering the entire screen, and each ad has a different closing button, some very small. This is an app you use outside, on the way, in the sun or in the rain and ads make it extremely difficult to operate sometimes. Edit - changed from 3 to 2 stars. There are increasingly many ads and there are better alternative apps.

I've had to come on here to update my review. In 2022 I gave this app a 5 star review. But now, in 2025 I'm forced to give it ONE STAR! I wish I could give it much less than that. It used to be excellent until it went to accepting advertisements which are the most intrusive, ANNOYING ADS EVER! And then if you don't want the ADS, you're going to have to pay through your nose monthly to get rid of them. This reflects that NASTY, PARASITIC, CAPITALISTIC CULTURE OF LIVING IN THE U.S.!

Amazing app, but for one.. I for some reason can't set my "starting point" any longer? It clicks and does nothing. I can do a screen record session if you'd like me to show you? Another is that you guys should really make a Widget so you can open your Monthly Bus Pass easily! It would make it SO much easier when trying to load the app in time(sometimes). It would be a great feature for sure! 😁. When you do, then please mention Blaine for my idea! 😉😊. Thank you!

deleted almost immediately. was sent to dl the app to track local bus line and purchase tokens. after installing set up account for another app that is free. once logged in before can even see what the app is about given option for 7 day free trial $2.50 a month 50% off if pay by the year. once bypass the trial link greeted to ton of ads. I'm fine with adware, I'm fine with paying for combining multiple apps in one, but when the free apps don't run adware and the paid subscription app does 🤔

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. An example where it doesn't is today where I was waiting exactly where the bus stop supposedly was, and neither of the buses ever came for over half an hour. These are buses 195 and 195i in Medellin. They apparently have a lot of outdated route maps and you can't really depend on this app to get somewhere when it's really important. Needs a lot of improvement. Their business model seems to be "irritate and annoy the users with countless ads"

TOO MANY ADS! Used to be a good app, used it in a number of cities. Sometimes offers live time when Google Maps can't. But now there are annoying ads you have to wait through before you can do *anything*. Even paying bus or train fare with a line of angry people behind you. This goes beyond annoying, it's criminal to force an entire country to use such a bad app (or go back to using a RavKav) and then make you wait through ads to get to essential features.

Awful. Route suggestions now omit valid and better routes on the London Overground line, which used to show up fine. Alternative suggestions are longer and more expensive. Also the ads are WAY more intrusive than before. Citymapper currently is far superior. Update: Ads are now so intrusive as to make this app unusable. And provide a "reject all" button for cookies and ad tracking. I'm not going to waste my time turning them off. I'm just going to uninstall it. Utter idiots.

Bait & switch... I subscribed for the live tracking, then, immediately discovered that's not available for the transit system I use. I immediately canceled & went to request a refund for the less than 5 minutes of subscription. They refused to refund my $ even though the only feature of interest to me isn't available & there wasn't any way to know that without subscribing. I'd call that a "junkie move" if I've ever seen one. Pettiest of the petty!
