I’ve been using Mountain-Forecast.com for a couple months now. It’s basically a website and app that offers super detailed weather forecasts for mountain regions all over the world. Pretty solid if you’re into hiking, climbing, skiing, or any other outdoor activities in the mountains.

Here’s what you can do: there’s free 6-day forecasts with info on things like temperature, wind, precipitation, and cloud cover at multiple elevations. They also have optional paid features like 12-day forecasts and offline maps. Plus you can import your hiking routes and get custom forecasts along your planned trail.

Look, if you spend a lot of time in the mountains, you’ll probably find this really useful. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does a great job of giving you the weather info you need to plan your adventures. Worth checking out for sure.

I've tested a bunch of weather apps over the years, and Mountain-Forecast.com is one of the best I've found for mountain-specific forecasting. The level of detail they provide, from hourly predictions to specific elevations, is really impressive. In my experience, their forecasts have also been pretty accurate, which is obviously crucial for planning hikes, climbs, and ski trips. The only real downsides are the so-so interface and the need to pay for some of the more advanced features. But overall, if you spend a lot of time in the mountains, this is a super useful app to have in your arsenal.
