Reviews for Movies Anywhere

I didn't even know these types of apps existed until I received a promotion from an app that was discontinued (Filmstruck). WOW!!! This is a gamechanger!!! I downloaded The movies anywhere app on my roku, and within seconds every movie I own from different apps appeared!!! Nothing short of amazing! Those complaining that there are no free movies are obviously clueless as to what they're downloading.

For an app that's required to stream movies, this is woefully inadequate. I use this app to stream movies for bed, and every night i have to try to reload a movie several times before it starts. Some movies on my playlist I've never watched because they won't load, it starts like it will then kicks you back. For an app that's required to watch Marvel movies, that's disappointing.

Wish I could like this app, but when I log in, two of my movies (Shin Godzilla and Power Rangers), don't appear in my list, and when I link to other accounts, those films only appear in Vudu, and I can't seem to use that app either. waste of time in my opinion. if I could get all my films linked to my Prime account, like the app said it did, things would be different.

This app works part of the time. Sometimes refuses to play movies at random and holds them hostage. Will be looking for a new app that plays my purchased digital movies. edit: yes, I cleared cache, forced stop, uninstalled and reinstalled. This has been going on for months as shown by other reviews yet nothing is being done. You. Will. Lose. Business.

Movies Anywhere touts that you have the ability to connect all of your digital movie viewing accounts so you can watch your movies anywhere. What this app fails to follow through with is providing all of your movies. If MA does not have an agreement with the studio, your movie appears nowhere. Not quite so awesome. While you may have 50 movies you own, you will probably only be able to see half of them. Be warned. And in reply to the reply from MA: Obviously. Thus my review. Did you even read it?

I own over 350 movies on vudu and it's only showing 247.. Even when I try to search as if I were trying to buy the movies that are missing they don't even show up as an option to purchase. It's like they don't exist. For example, I own the new Sonic movie but when you search Sonic on the app there are 0 results, same with a bunch of other movies. Its almost as if the app isn't allowed to offer certain titles.... Not sure but it's definitely a bummer

do not download this app. you can load your movies but you will not be able to watch them and then you can't move them to watch them on any other app. Customer service never calls you back. And once they have your movies you can't move them to a different app. Try anything else Do NOT use movies anywhere ever. I'm currently missing 8 digital movies because of this app. F*** this.

very glitches. There have been many times when we've been out of town, and randomly EVERY video that we've downloaded is blocked, saying we don't have the digital certificate, or something. And the only solution is to re-download everything. great concept, terrible execution. And get your act together with the missing studios like lions gate, already. it's inexcusable.

I had no idea that I could combine all of my purchase movies into one app. Ever since I had to start accessing my Google Play movies in YouTube I really disliked it because it took like six more steps to get to my movies. Which when You have young children navigating through apps the less steps the better! Now I just get on Vudu, because I tend to buy most of my movies on there, but I can watch all of my movies from all of my apps on there. Very satisfied with this app!

Been using the service for almost 3 years now on on different devices. Love the new lists, just wish they would play consecutively non-stop, like a play list, hopefully that might happen later. Great service & app, especially like being able to watch my movies on any platform I want, no matter where it was purchased. Hopefully more studios will join in soon but that's not MA's fault. One other improvement I'd really like to see is pricing for all the movies, like how it's shown on the sales.

The app and website are pretty good, especially compared to others of its kind. However an excruciating pain point now for me is that it doesn't hide the movies I have already purchased when browsing the store. I have a big collection now and I spend more time searching for the movie I don't have so i can buy it instead of actually buying and watching it.

I love the idea of having better access to digital content that I have purchased. So much easier than hunting apps to find what I know I have bought. I think that movies anywhere has a great idea, with massive room for potential. A lot of times digital content can be more or just as expensive as buying a physical object for some reason. Even though a lot less goes into the production for digital and No compensation for unused content. Movies anywhere makes it a little bit easier.

Overall a great app, but I have one big complaint. I'm able to "resume watching" on YouTube or Movies and TV on my PC, yet this app doesn't do that at all. It seems like a bizarre feature to just leave out when nearly all modern streaming services have this. Video quality is otherwise excellent, and audio is highly immersive, especially with headphones.

So convenient. Having all your movies in one place. So many retailers to choose from to link accounts. I also appreciate the control settings. I don't have to worry about the kids possibly watching something we don't approve of. I did like the notifications that if one of your wishlist titles was on sale it would send a push notification. Did that go away or will it be back? Just a thought, push notifications for new releases and pre-oders? Overall, I'm happy.

This app is amazing, I absolutely love the idea of having all my movies (most of them) in one place to watch anywhere. I also like how they added my Microsoft account films to the mix. Certain studios I really wish were added (Paramount, lionsgate) so I can have my whole collection, which is why I give it 4 stars now. Well done overall! (This review has been updated)

Great app overall. Still think some of these companies are missing out ilonngreat opportunities by not agreeing to a contract. That said, there are a ton of movies. Old, new, take your pick because you will probably find it. THE SELECTION BETEWEEN CONSOLE AND PHONE APP WILL BE DIFFERENT (ref. the earlier mentioned contract)..There is a bug in the Xbox version. Small issue with being able to leave a star review. The selector is is set to auto bounce back. Even then you still can not select.

While I find the app useful I have discovered one small annoyance. After entering in the codes for several Disney movies to add them to my account, I then had to go to the Disney Rewards website and enter all the codes a second time to get my reward points. Highly annoying. Especially because if you enter the code on either website, it will prompt you with a link to redeem the code for the other site, so you can easily get both your digital movie & your reward points. Seriously Disney, this really needs to be fixed. I mean, I can order Blu-Ray movies and TV shows from Walmart and 30 minutes later I get an email saying that they already added the digital copy (when available) to my VUDU account. There really needs to be a way to link Movies Anywhere & Disney Movie Rewards, It's the same parent company.

Overall I like this service very much. I like having the ability to view my movies here plus the other retailers. If one site goes down, they're available on another. I like being able to shop between multiple retailers for the better deals. I do wish more retailers/studios would join. They'd get more business as I do tend to purchase more movies based in part on if they are available here. I'm a movie fan and love the capabilities of this service. Love the extras included with many titles.

Note: This app can only integrate movies and shows purchased from other services that Disney has in its database. So most of my Fandango content (formerly VUDU) is here, but a small handful don't show up. I really like the interface of Movies Anywhere better than other services. So if I can watch my purchases here, I do so. I also love how easy it is to save movies on my phone to watch while waiting for the doctor or dentist. Nice change of pace from reading sometimes.

It's a nice app and works well, but has one major flaw: No picture-in-picture ability. That means that you can play a movie and do anything else on your phone or pad. I sometimes like to look up information about a movie or scene while watching, but you can't do that with this app. That's VERY disappointing. I wish I could find an alternative app, but I've been unable to find one. I hope the apps creators add this ability in the near future.
