So here's my honest take on My Aurora Forecast Pro. I've tested a bunch of weather and astronomy apps, and this one's pretty solid. The design looks great, with a nice dark mode that's easy on the eyes. The features are pretty comprehensive - you get all the key info you need to plan your aurora viewing. The notifications work well and I like the map overlay. On the downside, the forecasts can be hit or miss, and it took me a while to figure out some of the more advanced settings. But for the most part, it's a really handy tool if you're into the Northern Lights.

Description

Been using My Aurora Forecast Pro for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that tells you when and where you can see the Northern Lights. Pretty solid if you’re into aurora watching or just want to catch the lights on your next trip up north.

Here’s what you can do – it shows the current KP index (that’s a measure of geomagnetic activity) and how likely you are to see the aurora. There’s also a map that shows where the lights are strongest at the moment, based on some space weather forecast thing. And you can get push notifications when they’re expecting high activity, which is pretty useful.

Look, if you’re into chasing the Northern Lights, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the forecasts can be a bit iffy sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to up your aurora hunting game.
