Awesome bartender program. You can add your own recipes which is a must. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5, is because it only lists a few of the glasses possible that are specific to drink types. Now, I know that is a small item. However finding, buying, and being able to pour into the correct glaas type is part of the fun of this hobby.
Reviews for My Cocktail Bar
← Back to My Cocktail BarMy wife and I are enjoying this app. We are still learning about cocktails and the app helps us greatly. One thing I think is lacking is a more comprehensive rating system. The current ability to favorite drinks does not allow us to tell the difference between drinks we have tried and don't like and those we have not tried at all. A five star rating system or something similar would greatly enhance an already good product. Keep up the good work!
Best way of keeping track of my bar that I've seen, and has inspired me to try many new recipes. There are many basics missing (champagne, ouzo, spiced rum (that's not the same as gold or dark rum), or mead) and a "unit" option for measuring whole small fruit like raspberries is also missing with plums, lemon/lime juices and more. However, adding ingredients and new cocktails is easy and fun, I'm hoping I am contributing to the already massive list of possible drinks!
I have only had it for a week, but I already see ots value. I listed the alcohol and items I already have and it gave me a list of drinks that I could make using that. Awesome. From the drink suggestions to the shopping lists, this is a handy aid to my home bar. Very happy. I dont know if there is a pay version, but it would be worth the price for a pro version.
Great service from the Developer! I was having a problem with it and was not sure if it was my phone, the app or my use of the app. U recieved a prompt reply and with a couple of back and forth emails it was apparent the it was me! I was unable to Save after creating a cocktail. I just failed to add a new ingredient brfore doing the cocktail. Simple solution from quick response.
I like this app. Which says a lot! I'm a bartender and while this app needs more liquors and recipes added, the UI is clean, effective, cloud saves my bar and favs, and the devs are still working. Lots of potential here to be the go-to bar app. Everything else has been a severe disappointment. Keep adding content, and I may one day say, "There is only one choice." Mixology Free had many more drinks and wasn't terrible, but it's not been updated since old Android and is no longer available.
Very handy app. Excellent for when you have guests and they don't have a specific cocktail in mind. They can say something like "light and fruity" and you can find something they'll like with the ingredients you have. The only suggestion I have is to add more recipes! Bartenders and hobbyists alike are always coming up with new, innovated cocktails with increasing unique and unorthodox ingredients. I'd love to see some sort of crowd-sourced recipe feature that could add a social aspect.
Been using the site for a bit. Love it so far and have been enjoying the apps UI once you figure it out. Otherwise, I love optimizing what I do have. I'd say one function thats great is the listing of specific drinks you can make and what ingredient(s) your missing to make it. I'd say the only thing to help that out would be to list drinks in order of which drinks you are closest to being able to make by alphabetical remaining ingredients to know when you're close to a whole new drink.
Solid app! Super user-friendly and easy to navigate. Allows you to add things to a shopping list, switch between ml and oz, customize/edit recipes, "favorite" recipes, and sometimes even recommends common substitutions if you're missing an ingredient. You can add your own recipes and ingredients, too. Comes pre-loaded with many common ingredients and recipes, but lacks some more niche liquors/cocktails that you'll have to add yourself if you're a connoisseur. Great, simple, useful app.
While the variety in preloaded ingredients isn't the most comprehensive I've known, it is quite inclusive, and I love that the app suggests drinks you could make by picking up one or two more ingredients. I also very much like that it'll give substitution options for some cocktails. I know a (very) little bit about the alcohols and ingredients, but I'm new to cocktails, and this app is tremendously helpful.
Just started using it. Seems to be fairly good so far. One thing I would change is that when adding a new cocktail the ingredients list will not allow you to add half, or fractions to the ingredients amount. Also not a whole lot of drinks in the existing cocktails list. Adding a new cocktail to the list is cumbersome, and very time consuming.
I am by all means not a bartender so I can't say for sure how thorough the ingredients list and cocktails list are but, for my own personal use, this is a very good app. Purchased the pro because I hate ads and I have been very pleased. Plenty of cocktails and ingredients for the average user, I think. I also like that you can mark your favorite cocktails and create a shopping list on what you need for each cocktail. Well laid out in my opinion, too. Great app!
What a great app!! Exactly what I was looking for to catalog my bar and have cocktails suggested for me based on what I had on hand! I love that I can add my own ingredients as well as my own cocktails. My only wish is that I could list my multiple bottles of a spirit, bourbon for instance. I have 5 different varieties. I'd love to see them all together. My other suggestion is more bitters and syrups. But the way you've set it up makes it easy enough to add them yourself.
Not a bad app. Some directions for cocktails are a bit ambiguous or missing steps completely. The biggest missing feature is the ability to share your bar. It does no good for guests to not be able to see your bar. And giving them your login would be silly. More accurately describing cocktails and variants plus adding a share function would rate this an easy 5 stars. For the time being, it's a decent grocery list app for liquor...
Great in theory, but without the effort of adding more ingredients, it's pretty useless out of the box. I started at one end of my bar and 5 of the first 8 liquors were missing from the app (not even a broad category, like "raspberry liquor". Yes, I can add them, but that won't show me any new cocktails since the ingredients didn't exist in the app previously. Good idea, just not useful until the ingredient and cocktail databases are GREATLY expanded.
Great, simple app for managing my bar. I like that it's not bloated with copies of variations of the same recipes and that I can edit any recipe to suit my tastes. It would be nice if it came with or updated with more ingredients and recipes, while still keeping the bloat down. It's also a little unclear which recipes I created vs which recipes came with the app. Also I'd love to be able to organize recipes into lists within the app. But overall I love this app and I use it all the time! Thanks!
This is a fantastic app with a ton of great recipes. You can add your own recipes easily and add your own ingredients easily. I love that you can select an ingredient and see everything that it goes into. Feeling like a brandy drink? Just click Brandy. Do you have a bunch of lime juice you want to make cocktails with? Just click limes. I'm not sure yet if you could export your added recipes and ingredients to move to a new phone but if you can, this would be even better.
It has been super handy and fun to try new cocktails! I also love that it lists cocktails that you would only need one or two more ingredients for, so you know what to buy. I just wish they had a more extensive library or would add more cocktails, there are a few well known ones missing, as well as the more rare ones. Otherwise, I love it immensely! **EDIT** I'm sorry, I JUST discovered you can add your own cocktails and even edit existing ingredients. Amazing app, hands down love it.
Update, similar to favorites, I would to like mark cocktails I didn't like to avoid them in the future. Maybe thumbs up or down. App is easy to use, the interface is simple and intuitive, it is very easy to add ingredients, and it has the basic classic cocktails. I appreciate that it doesn't require you to add the generic and branded versions of ingredients, for example: Irish Creme and Bailey's. The ads are small and unobtrusive. I would like to see more drinks added.
Best bartending app out there in my opinion. Giving it four stars only because the number of drinks available seems much smaller than it could/should be. But the app does allow you to add your own recipes as well. I feel it could be improved with some sort of a database where additional drinks could be downloaded or something similar. Best part of this app though, and what truly makes it stand out, is the ability to list ingredients that you have and view cocktails which can be made with those ingredients.
