Description
Been playing My EMDR for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps with EMDR therapy, which is a treatment for things like PTSD. The idea is it displays a moving object and plays sounds to stimulate your brain in a way that helps the desensitization process.
There’s all kinds of settings you can play with – you can choose the movement pattern, color and size of the ball, background color, and sound effects. And you can even set it to random or surprise effects. The simple interface makes it pretty user-friendly, so it works well for kids too.
Look, if you’re into mental health apps or EMDR therapy, you’ll probably get a lot out of this. It’s not perfect – the settings can be a bit confusing at first – but overall it does a solid job of supporting the EMDR process. Worth checking out for sure.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on My EMDR. I've tried a bunch of mental health and therapy apps, and this one's pretty good. The core functionality works really well - the moving object and sounds seem to have a noticeable calming effect. And the customization options are a nice touch. But the learning curve on the settings is a bit steeper than I'd like. Overall though, if you're looking for an EMDR app, this is one of the better ones I've used.
