Reviews for My Recipe Box: My Cookbook

Elizabeth Malmrose

Love this app. They thought of everything needed to find, file, and use recipes. I'm now in process of getting all my recipes from books, binders, filing cabinets, kitchen drawers, folders, etc., into My Recipe Box. No more hunting for them. I especially like the feature that allows for changing quantities of ingredients. Love this app!

Excellent app for storing and syncing recipes. While cooking, it's ok, like having a printed recipe card. It would be nice to be able to check off ingredients as they are used or steps as they are performed. Ads have recently gotten more obtrusive, no longer just a small bar at the bottom of the screen at the bottom. Now they can fill the screen and you have to scroll past them to see your recipe.

I love how easy this app makes it to import recipes and then categorize and sort them. And it it uses Dropbox or GDrive to sync across devices, but you can make manual backups too. This app is everything I've needed in a virtual cookbook. I've been using it for years now. It's probably the only app I've ever used consistently. LOVE. IT. (Original review was from 2018)

Great app. You can save your own recipes or import them from the internet. You can go back and edit your recipe, even add photos. If for some reason the app won't let you import a recipe you can copy and paste it and save it. It even let's you convert to pdf. Since installing it I've spent countless hours looking up recipes for my favorite dishes. Very useful.

So far, so good. I've mainly been adding recipes from the internet. It allows me to categorize and sort as well as add items to a shopping list with ease. I recently lost my recipes when another app I had been using for YEARS shutdown 😒. This has been the best option I've found since. It has been working well so far, I'll post an update if anything changes.

Been using this app through 3 phones now (haha - using transition of phones to measure time). I absolutely love how easy and simple it is to cut thru all the chatter in recipe articles, download just what I need, including pictures. The only complaint I have is that with every new phone, I've lost my beloved recipes! It's my fault, but I wish there was a easy way to backup the files.

I love this app! Does what I need it to and easy to use. I have it on my phone, and use it at the grocery store when shopping for ingredients for my recipes! Good interface with cooking sites, will grab recipes from almost anywhere thru the Share button. From some sites, after download, you may have to edit the recipe, though that's probably not this apps fault. I would highly recommend it.

EXACTLY what I needed! In downsizing some years ago, I gave my 40-year old collection of recipe books to the library... big mistake. Since then, I have been collecting recipes online using my phone, tablet, and laptop. Consequently, I could never find any of them! This app makes keeping all my recipes in one place a godsend. I can also customize them and can build a grocery list directly. Also, it syncs on all my devices! I love it!

The app didn't meet my expectations, particularly when I had to changes my phone. None of my recipes that were saved to my phone were transferred to my new phone. I really didn't and still don't understand why. Suggestion: add a nutrition calculator for recipes that are entered manually. It would be nice. Otherwise, it's a better app than most of it's kind. One reason I downloaded it was because of the grocery list option. I use it constantly.

Edir: thanks to a reply, i discover i can add a category while saving. Duh! Thanks for the lesson! Updated to 5 stars! So far, I'm pretty impressed. It would be really nice to be able to categorize at the same time you're saving, though. Right now, I have to save the recipe, then go select it from my list and then categorize it. As my list of recipes grows, I can see this becoming more cumbersome.
