My favorite features are the audible row counting and being able to see all your notes, the timer, and row counts on the pattern without it being intrusive. I could do without the progress keeper, though. Maybe make that optional? I also haven't been able to change the picture. Otherwise, five stars, great app.
Reviews for My Row Counter: Knit & Crochet
← Back to My Row Counter: Knit & CrochetThis is the pattern-integrated row counter+ I never knew I needed! I've only just started exploring all the features, but the highlighters are perfect for keeping my spot in the pattern. No searching for where I set my pen, losing or ripping the printed pattern, or needing to print it again when I have to make multiple pieces of the same part. Well worth the minimal cost for access to all the features.
Incredible! The most useful app on my phone right now, extremely intuitive interface and each day I use it I find cool new features that make it even better. The latest thing I discovered in it was the increase/decrease function. You enter the starting number of stitches and then the final number you want to get to after your increases/decreases and it will calculate how many times you should do it to make it look neat. Absolute gamechanger!
Excellent for tracking your work! I've been using the app for something like 2 years now and I use it nearly every day. Fantastic for working on the go, tracking rows (especially when you need to increase/decrease on a repeating interval!), and getting an idea of how long you spend on each project. Haven't really delved into the new social piece, but I can say for sure the tracking features are solid and I would struggle without them.
Worth the small annual fee honestly. I'm new to knitting and I'd be much more lost without the ability to have multiple counters and organize them in parts. Updates seamlessly between my samsung galaxy and my iPad. I do wish there was an option to lock the highlight bar in place so that I could scroll through the pattern without having to reset my highlight.
Overall it's a great app. I paid for premium because I wanted the highlighting option. I wish the highlighter would stay where you put it in coordination to your pattern rather than in coordination with your screen. I have 5 kids and my phone gets bumped often. I wish the timer would stay going even if the app isnt open, or at least be able to edit the timer because I've lost out on hours of knitting I would have liked to keep track of.
I was just expecting a basic row counter, and I've been pleasantly surprised as I discover more and more things I can do with this app! Patterns can be imported either from a download or straight from Ravelry. Multiple row counters can be used within the same pattern for those that have multiple pieces. I'm sure there's more that I can do, I just haven't discovered it yet.
Searching for an app that allows you to count your stitches, rows, etc? Trying to find an app that create your own patterns, download others patterns, keep a digital tally of your yarn and needles, AND has helpful tutorials? Look no further! Row counter does all of that and more. I'm in love with this app and use it all the time. Thank you so much for creating it!
I've been using My Row Counter for a couple of years now, and I can't recommend it enough. I also happily pay for the extra features. My favorite part about the app is that you can add row keepers for the horizontal and vertical row that you're on which is great for knitting from charts. When you use a row keeper, it darkens all of the other rows so you don't get confused! You can also change the color and size of the row keeper, which makes it extremely accessible and adaptable per pattern.
A lovely and useful tool, and so much more than a row counter. I have the app installed on my phone and tablet, which let's we take my work anywhere. I love that I can import my pattern PDF and use one app instead of having to switch between RC and a reader app. I decided to subscribe to the paid version so I can annotate my pattern. I'm very happy to pay for this great tool!
This app is my absolute favorite knitting tool. I love everything about it, and the paid subscription isn't too much and it's absolutely worth it. Easily one of the best designed apps I've ever used across the board. I love being able to put patterns in my row counter so I don't have to print them! You can import patterns from your phone, ravelry, and other websites, and it's SO easy to link your ravelry. I can't say enough good things about Row Counter! ❤️
I've been using this app for YEARS and it is by far the best knit/crochet companion I have come across, when the subscription started I was more than happy to pay it to contribute. Able to count rows, add row counters to keep track of more complicated patterns, highlight, annotate, import patterns, and a ton else I'm sure I'm blanking on or haven't played with yet. I tell all of my yarn craft friends about it, thank you so much for your diligence and passion for this project. It absolutely shows
This is a great app!!! Best of all its free! Yes u can buy the primo version but the free one is amazing! I like to work on a few things at once so I don't get bored and this keeps track of EVERYTHING I'm working on! Even imports the patterns... Now how cool is that??? It's awesome to not spend 2 days looking for that pattern u know u have somewhere and can never find when u want it! My 3 ring binder is so full it's falling apart, now I have a place to store everything. Great!👍 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟
good for counting rows, but they just made the timer (tracks how much time you've spent on each project) a paid feature when previously it was free. borderline useless for me personally now. not too many ads, and they're usually quick and silent at least. if you need JUST a row counter? cool good app. if you want anything more than that? don't bother.
Freaking LOVE this app!!! I have the paid version, no ads, but the ads where not bad or obnoxious before I went paid. All my patterns are in one place and easy to keep track of how far I am along. I can make notes where I make changes. Keeps track of what yarn I have on hand. Really it's my crochet brain. Well worth people giving it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Happy Hooking!!!
I've been using this app for years since I picked crocheting back up, and it's still my favorite counter. While I don't have the subscription, I think it's worth the cost for all the features you get with it. I do wish that changing the timer was a free feature because I'll forget to start my timer but have an idea of how long I've been working. I'd also think a gauge calculator would be beneficial; I thought that was what the swatch adapter did, but I guess not.
Update: The support team is very responsive and was able to fix the issue. Still giving only 4 stars because if I paid for a restore it should have worked without me spending extra time to fix it. The app overall is pretty good. I paid for the "restore backup version" because I changed my phone. The backup did not work. All my projects are empty, just the row numbers are imported. There is no way to import the patterns, the screen is white.
Best app ever, and I'm only on the free version! I've used it since I first started crocheting (and now knitting too) and it's easy for beginners (and a great learning tool) and detailed and customizable for advanced patterns with lots of parts and making your own patterns. Always available offline which is perfect when waiting for appointments or travel or camping. If I sold my crafts I would buy the premium version (free version keeps time and stitch count)
This is the best, easiest app to use. I had the free version for over a year and decided to try the paid version. I do not regret it at all. It's not expensive and you have so many more options. I have downloaded all of my projects and I'm able to keep track of everything in detail. It has a yarn ball converter, pattern creator, swatch adaptor, yarn stash organizer. I know there are a lot more features I haven't discovered yet, but I will.
Started great...unhappy since last year! I have loved using this app since I downloaded it. It allowed me to create projects from magazines & books that I could edit using the drawing tool to fit the color pattern of my choice. However, my drawing tool hasn't functioned properly in at least a year. It started by skipping while writing making the words/notes illegible. Now, the writing is perfect but saving the work is impossible due to an error stating "Exception in HostFunction"!
