Reviews for MyMazda

Periodically useful, but so unnecessary. Instead of being able to push a button on my remote like 99% of car companies, Mazda forces us to use a paid app. It would be less frustrating if it worked more than 50% of the time. I get failures and try again messages half the time which is not helpful during winter in New England. Update & fix it, or make it free for us to start our cars without paying you for an app that frequently doesn't work. Turning on heat / defroster would also be good.

The app is fine. Slow, but it works. 1 star for Mazda attempting to charge a monthly fee for the app, so no more remote start. The app provides bare-bones diagnostics; nothing special. The only reason anyone would pay for it is remote start. If you're going to charge for the app, build the remote start into the key fob like everyone else. Pretty classless move from a company I otherwise like.

When it works it's great. Unfortunately, it is unreliable. While it is stable (ie the app doesn't crash), the Mazda app will often fail to perform a task (like starting a remote charging session, locking a door, or starting climate control). It has also frequently prevented users from logging into the app (error E900500). Separately, the app doesn't support multiple users. If you share a car with anyone else in the household, only one person can be logged in at a time.

For a long time this app worked pretty well, specifically through my trial period. Now that it's over, and when I need it most during freezing weather, it fails. They're basically just charging $10 per month for remote start (because the other features are basically worthless), and at that price point I'd expect additional features such as being able to turn my defrosters on or bare minimum adjust the temperature. Honestly their whole response to all this turns me off of buying another Mazda.

A lot of wasted space in this app, resulting in a lot of needless swiping and scrolling. The Remote and Status tabs, for example, could have been combined since they have overlapping purposes. It also just feels slow, especially opening the app, which runs you through the log in every time (automatically at least). Remote start, by design, shuts off when you open the door, seems like there could be a better way to implement security. I won't be paying for it after my trial period ends.

it would be great if you could adjust the climate control and not have to turn off the car after it has been ignited. This makes no sense besides being a safety feature. Also, why not allow you to have created your atmosphere such as with music or audible before you enter ... There's so much more we can get for paying $10 ... Come on Mazda, you talk about making a car designed for the person!

Edit(OG below) I'd love to see a WearOS app. The features aren't enough to want to pay for it. If I could mess with the climate controls, or turn on the heated seats. I might consider it. As of now, the only true feature you have is remote start behind a pay wall. This will just force people to purchase 3rd party remote start hardware.

This app is useless unless it's used for the remote start, which is almost useless. It's not all the app, but the interactive features of the vehicle that make this app so bad. It's difficult to locate the information in the menus. The app is slow as clumsy to navigate. It frequently just doesn't work for a day or so. The important vehicle data isn't updated in real time, the remote features take up to 30 seconds to work. Just buy an aftermarket remote start system.

$10 a month for a weak app. App is unintuitive and needs: 1. Show if engine is RUNNING, on or off. I DON'T know if engine is running or not to know if I am shutting off the engine or starting another 15min run. INFURIATING. 2. Show a Timer while engine is running. 3. 5 min auto-shutoff instead of 15min. 15 min is Too long. Other features like fuel, mileage, and service status is good.

The app's only good function is telling me how much gas I have. However, it doesn't really update when I scroll down to refresh it. The remote start and unlock function barely works. I get that it has to send a signal. But I have successfully started my car twice since getting the app. It's not really worth it to have. Thankfully, I am still in the trial period but I will not be buying a subscription for it.

Promising with a lot of room for improvement. For example in the car status, shows i-stop status, fuel efficiency, and car notifications. The map feature is so useful but since the car uses Here maps, why does the app use Google maps? Be consistent. Additionally, it would be nice to be able to manually select locations from the map by tapping them.

This app is terrible. Notifications (like stating the car is unlocked or door is ajar) take a ridiculous amount of time, like 15 minutes or so, so you can't trust them. Service notifications are not accurate. But the worst aspect is that you cannot turn on the heat or defrost from the app. Seriously? How was that rolled out as acceptable functionality?

Be aware that many of the positive reviews are from people still in a free trial. but in fact this is $10 a month so they can take away features like remote start from your key fob like cars in the past had as standard. imagine buying a $50k car and being nickel and dimed as soon at 36 months. The app is ridiculously limited. there's no ability to turn on heated seats or cooled seats. there's no ability to adjust the vehicle temperature. if I worked for Mazda I would be embarrassed by this app.

I've never been able to connect with it for one. So, can't use it so far. Also, I bought my Mazda this year where one of the features I was seeking was a remote starter. No one explained during the sales or test drive that it was a $10/month feature. I feel very ripped off by this. I've had remote starters in my last two vehicles and never paid a subscription. I hate this.

This app is HIGHLY unreliable. It's extremely disappointing that you have to pay monthly and the remote start isn't reliable. I can't ever get a current "status" on the vehicle. It always gives you the last time it was on, which is pointless. We own a Ford also and their remote start is free and way more reliable and functional than the Mazda connect app. I love my Mazda but definitely feel less in love because of this app.

Update: 2 years later and the platform is still trash. No wonder they don't charge for it - few would pay for it. Orig Review: Terrible experience with the platform. 1. Won't lock unlocked doors when the car is in the drive and I'm in the house either on or off the wifi. Seems to start remotely each time just fine. 2. The app won't keep my Mazda as the default. It always starts on my wife's. 3. When you try to clear the vehicle status alert by tapping the X in the UI, it opens the alert anyway.

This app isn't useful. The remote start capability doesn't work (it's a manual transmission), and other than that feature, there's not much there. I'll probably never use the remote lock and unlock. It informs me that the trunk or a door is open, but that's usually because it's open while I'm unloading the car, and the notification arrives long after I've closed the offending trunk or door. The app is OK, but only OK. It's free for now, but when that's over, I sure won't pay to keep it.

This app has potential. Here are a few problems: - the app ignores do not disturb. I get notifications that the car is charged at 4 am, even though do not disturb is on - the notification categories are not sufficient. You can't decide what status updates you want other than a few broad categories, and half of them don't really make any sense - remote charge always fails. I have never seen it not fail. Fix these issues and it will be a pretty useful app!

Like so many other reviews, if I'm paying for the app for basic functions for my car, the app should work. Every time. Remote start is basic on every other comparable vehicle these days, but other companies don't charge an additional fee for it. And maybe there was some fine print I didn't read, but when buying my car 4 years ago and asked about remote start, nobody told me that the app they told me to download would one day no longer be free. And it DOESN'T EVEN OPEN!

When it was free, it was perfectly acceptable, but now that it's paid, it leaves things to be desired. App is slow to open and connect, some days taking over minute just to be able to send a command. Also the notifications for doors left open or unlocked come way late, sometimes a half hour after I've already closed or locked it. I've had better experiences with other makes connect features. That said, I'll be keeping this in the winter, it's cheaper than getting a remote start aonther way.
