Reviews for mysms – Remote Text Messages

Great app all around. Will hold off on 5 Star because of one annoying thing. When I type in a phone number it does not break it out with the area code parenthese and spaces. It remains a string of 10 digits with no spacing. I have to move the cursor down to the message body and squint / triple check the number. Never encountered this with any other app. Would think it is a very simple fix since every other program does it.

Very good app. I chose mysms because I can view text from my PC or Chromebook browser easily. The app has been reliable and had very little problem. It also is subjected to the limitation of SMS. As an SMS and MMS only app that is prob pretty typical. One feature I would like to see and would make this app do much better if that is it can break up a longer message into chunks that fits the SMS message size limitation automatically. That would definitely earlier it a 5 Star rating.

** update Recentlt since the past two updates my texts no longer sync to the compiter for some reason, at least not nearly close to real time . *** previous post I've been using this app for years. It really is a fantastic way to text from your computer or tablet using your phone number. I like it better then the new Android built in function as I can use any default texting app and mysms will still work.

It's ok. It worked pretty well with Windows 8, but the Windows 10 APP definitely needs development. Update : the website version of mysms works great. I no longer run the desktop app, just use the website. Unfortunately, with a recent Android update, the phone version now sucks. Group and media messages don't come through. Instead they come as a link you gave to click to download. Imagine a group chat where you have to manually download every single message individually.

Free and Affordable option for texting from your desktop. Have the paid version now. Only thing keeping it from 5 star is there is a glitch when I'm sending text on my computer where I have to add a 2nd number to get it to send. Somewhere along the way this started. It wasn't always like this. Also, will you could send a mass individual email to small groups.

Completely useless on a OnePlus 7 Pro. I have followed the guides and knowledge base articles on the support site. Despite this, messages almost never sync. The interface design is archaic and for the cost, I feel pretty burned. Maybe it works better on other phones, but if you have a OnePlus device, I would recommend steering clear and just use Messages from Google in a web browser. It is free and much more reliable.

I've been a paying ($10/yr) customer for at least a couple of years, but am now dumping it and have uninstalled it. 1) More and more it's taking longer to send a text- up to 5 min but usually at least 2 min. Troubleshooting and re-installing no help. Sending from phone alone when I'm away from home network, same thing. 2) But this is the big thing- every time I log into the app from the phone, it forces me to sign- in with my Google account, which gives them access to ALL the MySMS info. You'd think for a paying app, they would allow me some privacy from the giant vacuum. The 50 million folks who were just hacked on Facebook AGAIN in YESTERDAY'S (Sept 2018) announcement allowed the hackers to follow the data through to the individual's other app accounts where the Facebook user had signed in using their account. That's why all these data miners want you to sign in with their accounts- it gives everyone access to all your info. It is a big deal. MySMS was convenient, but with the new Windows 10 update (due Oct 2018), I'll be able to text directly from my desktop for free. I expect that when word gets out, this app will slowly go away. I think I'd rather have Microsoft have my info.

This app has been so helpful to me. I find that writing on my phone is terribly slow, so I love this option of using my computer (where I'm working all day) to easily send/receive messages. The app has a few quirks, like putting long messages out of order, requiring manual sync now and then, and not displaying some emojis, but overall I appreciate it so much!!

I use it all the time. It does have two annoying bugs, one they acknowledge but they dont fix it and the other they dont even acknowledge. They are 1-Messages are duplicated on the desktop program 2-It does not handle group messages properly. Update 6/11/19. The program often is missing texts that appear on the phone. Not good. There is zero support unless you are a premium user. Going to switch.

Update. I uninstalled this a year or so ago due to conflict. Today I went to install again, and something was screwy in the setup process/web page and app responses. But they got me charged for Premium $10.99 although I wasn't trying for that. Called provider, got that refunded. From 5 star to 1 star. For accessing Text msgs on any of my devices AND on PC. I went to a competing app (M..T...) for a while. For it, I had to have the app open on the phone before I could maker or read new messages somewhere else. With this app, I just need to have the phone turned on to do the same. I really appreciate the utility. Works just fine.
