I really like this app, I gave a 3 because I'd like to see more info. When your number is yellow or red, what is the range supposed to be? Sorry, I'm new to all of this. Going through the stages of acceptance, and would like info to support the why behind. Something is coded to flag yellow if ...... So what's the ...... Otherwise, fantastic, and a relief to not have to keep a notebook handy. You can export and go, simply amazing and puts me a little at ease. Thank you for listening, happy days
Reviews for mySugr - Diabetes Tracker Log
← Back to mySugr - Diabetes Tracker LogI have been using this app for quite a while. All of a sudden it stopped recognizing my data on my meter. I cannot enter my meter pin. I have the relion platinum meter and it will recognize the meter but the area to enter the pin number is grayed out. It references for me to check my notifications, but what am I checking for? I don't know what caused it to stop recognizing the meter. Help please! So far I have not been able to get a response from the support team.
I like the graphs, the instant response to the test, the ability to track when tested (pre food, after, fasting), and i like that numbers outside the range are differently colored and have an audible alert. So far I've had no glitches. I do wish there was a rolling average and a continuing HgA1c # as I've been working hard to lower the HgA1c.
I've used this app for 2 years now. I've used the free option the whole time. You earn points for logging. The more detailed and more often your log, the more points you earn. I log my blood sugar once daily, so it doesn't give me an estimated A1C, but it does give me a 7 day average, a 14 day average, 30 day average, and 90 day average. You have the option to upgrade to the paid options as well. It's very convenient to have all my blood sugar logs in one place!
The basic app is really good. I give it a five-star. However, when I uped to pro I did not get a single solitary extra service. You can't customize the cells and there is no instructions on the net anywhere on how to do it. You're supposed to be able to download the logbook app but that is not possible either. It says to go to the Play store and download it. When you try to do that the PlayStore readily says that you should get it but there is no download button to do so. The pro gets zero stars
The app is a really nice way to keep a good and glucose number readings. I don't really need all the extras that come with the pro version, I only use the free version. However, if there was an extended version, that just gave you the extra access in the app (grayed out portions), for maybe a couple of dollars per month, I would consider upgrading to that. But, as it is, it works well, and I will even share it with my doctor, next visit. I imagine she has other peeps who could find it helpful.
It seems that is still nothing more than a big data collector, and it still will only allow you to connect one device. Most people have more than one meter, I have one at home, one at the office, and one in each car. But only one device can connect to this app. I have recently found some other apps that I am currently testing that seem to be better thought out with less data gathering.
Updated: Now, I'm getting notifications every other day about me being a pro. I don't know what this has to do with anything and I can't take off that specific notification. Good App, but could be great if they let you customize more in settings, get rid of the diabetes monster icon if you don't want to see it, let you scan food barcodes and have better icons. A snack icon shouldn't look like a slice of pizza. Even better would be to let the user choose the icon they want their meals to be.
Failed at first but suddenly it worked. The instructions weren't very clear but magic happened to guide me to the right spot. UPDATE: there are no clear instructions about 'beating the monster' so all my readings are in the green but i lose to the monster which is quite discouraging. I'm sure i can pay extra to find out. My glucometer does more than this app.
This app is truly amazing. It makes me want to log more: the little "diabetes monster" gimmick really works! There are no ads in the app. I have a paid subscription, but I discovered that there are challenges that let you earn it that way. Smart! It would be great if the "notes" field expanded vertically, instead of scrolling. Pretty that's my only real complaint. 😀
Set up of device (Accu-Chek meter) is super easy and uncomplicated. The good folks behind the manufacturing make set up a walk in the park! As well as the monitoring! Just follow the prompts as laid out by the meter and you'll coast right on through. They're good people! Update: Accu-Chek meter worked fine for a few months, then suddenly began failing at transfering data. Failing at pairing with my phone. If this happens to you, simply re-enter new code under settings.
I love this app! However, there could be more integration with other apps such as Samsung Health, MyFitnessPal, etc... or other apps that track such things. It takes quite a bit of time to manually enter info other than weight and BG readings (when one has the necessary items that auto connect). It would also be nice if there was a more diverse amount of brands that do integrate. The way I see it, if other companies can make their apps do those things, you should be able to as well.
Really love the app. Very convenient to have readings uploaded from the machine to my phone. My only issue is that it worked fine for a few days, and then stopped uploading readings. Machine gave an error msg about needing to be closer to the phone, even though it was close. I had to pair it again. It worked a couple of days and stopped, again. I've given up trying to pair it and am now manually entering the readings. Please add "fasting" and "bedtime" icons or give option to create my own.
It's not a bad app overall. But It would be so much more useful if the Android app could integrate with your PC, which they don't even have software for. I have been in contact with them about this, so I guess we'll see what happens. Anyone else who would like to see this should contact their customer support and let them know. I believe if they hear this from enough customers that they might actually do something about it!
You can now connect to multiple devices (PRO version only), but only to different models, and only from 3 manufacturers. Connects reliably, and unlike some DM apps you can edit/delete entries (essential for any personal healthcare app). Minuses - it says connected to the Google Fit app and data is imported but it doesn't appear to be imported TO anywhere. And only 6 meters listed (from 3 manufacturers) out of dozens, that will connect. If you don't have one of these the app is useless to you.
This app has helped me a lot, by tracking my blood sugar levels over weeks. I helps me stay within my target range. Seeing my estimated A1c, (even though they call it something else, now) is helpful to me. I love the sugar monster, too. Update: Used to be good. The update sucks, directs me to log in through an app that no longer exists.
It's helpful for keeping track of some symptoms and the test results BUT it regularly won't get the results from my Relion Platinum. it says it's connected and waiting for results during use but I usually have to disconnect the device and re-pair it to make the results come through afterwards. It's annoying. Other than that, it's helpful.
app constantly deletes values. Doesn't matter if you use Bluetooth or enter manually. Doesn't matter if you use automatically saved values or manually saved values. After around 8 or more emails to customer service, who actually had no solutions except to try doing what I'd already done before contacting customer service. There was no actual support, and I knew more about how the app functions and its features than the representive. I'm going to install a different app that actually works.
The app has potential, but in my opinion the best features are only available to iOS users. Being an Android user I think it is very poorly executed to have CGM data only available to iOS users. I will not be using the meal log and other useful features because of that. It's pointless for me to add that data in this app and also have to add it in an app that does import my CGM data. Missed opportunity and a huge disservice to your customers.
There is no desktop app to go with this app. Generating reports would be much easier if there was a desktop app. Also, they make you create an account with your email address. If you enter uppercase characters, it will tell you your email is invalid but will not tell you why. It took a while for me to figure this out. BTW: The Internet standard for this 100% supports uppercase letters. The app requires notifications to export a reports, this is totally unnecessary.
