So here's my honest take on Naming Therapy. I've tested a bunch of speech therapy apps and this one's pretty solid. The features are great - the cueing system is super helpful and I like that you can customize it. The scoring and progress tracking is useful too. But it does get a little repetitive after a while, and the ads can be intrusive if you don't pay. Compared to some other options, I'd say it's one of the better language apps out there. If you need to work on word-finding, it's definitely worth trying.

Description

Been using Naming Therapy for a couple months now. It’s basically an app designed by a speech therapist to help people with aphasia practice important word-finding and description skills. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do: there are 400+ pictures of common objects and you have to name them. It’s got this evidence-based cueing system where it gives you hints if you get stuck. And you can even add your own photos and cues – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful. The app tracks your progress and gives you a report, which is pretty cool.

Look, if you or someone you know is working on their speech and language, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can be annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

An absolutely wonderful program. I purchased it for supplemental speech therapy for my wife who had a severe stroke, which seriously effected her ability to speak and recognize written words....
