Reviews for Natural Cycles - Birth Control

I haven't been using this long since I got married, but the app is clean, easy to use, and the customer service is excellent! The app didn't work on my old phone's operating system, so they gave me a refund for the entire subscription, and let me use the app for 6 months for free on the desktop version. When I got a new phone 2 months later, it started working in app so I told them they could start charging me again, but they let me keep the extra 4 months for free! Very impressive service!

Great app. I find it annoying the thermometer not only beeps really loudly (with no way to turn it off- it wakes my partner), and that it does not automatically sync up with the app. You have to type in your temp. The thermometer also does not have a screen that lights so if it's dark, you need a phone or flashlight to light up your screen. When you pay $80.00 for something, I expect it to be a little more seamless.

My only quelm is the thermometer doesn't sync with the app and it's so easy to miss the temp reading - you can't retrieve the record, it's just gone. Daisy has a bad app, but I use their thermometer (which uses Bluetooth to sync temps to their app). This app is fantastic! Super easy to use and historical data available at a glance. I like that it warns me when I'm going to be PMSing (based on my prev. input). And all of the factual notices are really relevant/ informative/ simple to review.

I love it and haven't had issues, it does take effort to track and take your temps and follow what the app says. But I agree with other negative reviews that the thermometer kind of sucks. 1. It should have a longer re-call...one second isn't long enough. 2. It should have a light because most of the time when taking temps the sun is down. 3. Bluetooth would be incredible!! So much easier, just take your temp and go back to sleep and it will record the temp it's self. That would be awesome.

Absolutely nothing about this app is free. It's $14.99/mo or $100+/year. You can't see any of the app or its functions to decide if it's for you. You can trial for a month, but after that you're getting billed for the whole year. You can't trial and then do monthly. You also apparently have to use their brand thermometer ($39 if u dont want to pay for a year subscription) or the ring ($259).

I've been using the App for a month now. I love the look of the app. It's look and design makes it a very "easy to use" app. But, I absolutely hate that the thermometer doesn't link with the app itself. It's so difficult to read in the dark without a light up screen, and it takes forever to measure temperature. It does store the latest reading but it disappears fast when attempting to retrieve it. Overall, I'll continue to use NC because the information and the tracking is spot on.

I've only been using the app for about a month but so far I love the look of the app, all the features, navigation, and the educational material. I'm in my 30's & didn't know half of the information they teach you about! Con: the only one so far, is the thermometer. When I wake up in a darkish room, the thermometer is hard to read. It doesn't light up or automatically update the app with your temp. If they could update this, it would change I would have zero negative feedback!

This has so much potential, perhaps second or third generations will be good but this one is not. My main issue is that the thermometer does not sync with the app (the whole point I previously thought) the thermometer doesn't even light up and is so difficult to use in the dark (the moment you wake up, groggy and fumbling no less). The app is also not designed well, I've had free period tracker apps that were easier to use.

The app itself is fine, but don't expect anything at all in the way of customer service. My subscription cancelled itself, and so far I've spent 3 days trying to reach Natural Cycles trying to get their help. The customer service chat is useless, and when it forwarded my problem to an email assistant, guess what? Still absolutely zero help! And it did the same thing last year, too. So go ahead if you're interested in spending money on an app that only sometimes works.

Love the app! It gives you lots of great information. It's setup well and even gives you reminders to set your thermometer out for testing in the morning. The thermometer on the other hand is the absolute worst! It takes a long time to check your temp. There is no back light to read the numbers. It says it saves the last reading but when you turn it back on to record your numbers it only stays on screen for a few seconds. I've missed multiple reading because the temp timed out.

I was really excited about this app and really stood behind the scientific backing and reliability of it. It felt great to have a natural option rather than hormonal birth control. However, after using for about three months in a very conservative way the app failed me on preventing pregnancy. I have a regular cycle and tracked my temperature more than average. So just be warned, either I'm extremely unlucky or the statistics might not be as accurate as they seem.

I've really been enjoying Natural Cycles. Finding out more about my cycle has been very eye-opening, and living life without the side effects of birth control is great! The app interface has some glitchiness on my Samsung Galaxy S8, still usable but a bit frustrating. And I'm in a committed relationship and would not be devastated by a pregnancy so I'm the best possible candidate for this system. Couldn't recommend if that's not the case for you. However, in >1 year we've had no surprises.

The app continually resets all of my reminder alarms. I have 3 different times over a 5 day period. (Don't worry they are all within 2 hours of one another). Pretty much every day the app will add check marks on every single day for all 3 alarms and that is NOT how I have it set. For example, Mondays and Fridays have the reminder set for the same time, but time and time again the app will just go ahead and check mark the rest of the days of the week for that reminder time.

The app design is beautiful and the tracking experience has been good as well. The whole first year was great, and then the other shoe dropped. A price increase to $150/yr to use an APP? Insane, and honestly it made me feel betrayed. This was my trusted "girl app" and now they're holding my data and fertility for ransom? I'm finding another app.

I have used this app for a year now and can honestly say I've never felt so in tune with my own body. Ive tried 3 types of hormonal birth control (pill, shot, and ring) and they did not work well for my body! The Natural Cycles app helps you keep track of everything that's going on in your cycle. (it's not just a period tracker!!) Plus, they have SO MUCH educational reading material!! I HIGHLY recommend this for people who are looking for a natural birth control option without the hormones!!

*Not helping after months of use* I used this app religiously for about 2-3 months in spite the effort it took to take my temperature immediately after I wake up and before even rolling around the bed. In this time, the app kept telling me I could get pregnant for 3 weeks of the month (and this didn't change with time). This is no rocket science! I could tell you that without an app, thermometer, or $80 price tag. Went back to Flo (free) although my subscription is paid for through May.

Been using this apparently since 2017. It hasn't changed much. Based on my age and cycle data, it should be providing information on menopause. Instead, I receive "tips" about getting sleep with young children. I used to think it was a good app. I don't anymore. UPDATE: In response to your comment, I had previously tried that. But your AI bot chat window is terrible, and there is no other way to send in feedback. As a shortcut, I will be the only person with my name who is a customer of yours.

I love this app. It's a great tool to help you when trying to prevent pregnancy. They also have trying to conceive, pregnancy, and postpartum modes but I haven't had the chance to try those yet. Sometimes the app is a bit overly cautious with the red days but that's how they ensure they keep their high percentage of effectiveness. I've been tracking my cycle and ovulation for a while so I use it more to supplement what I already know and it does a great job. I love that it links to my Oura too.

As a recent update, I have had issues with payment every single year that I have tried to start or update my subscription. This has happened with multiple banks. This is not an issue on my bank's end, but rather on the Natural Cycles side. I will be cancelling my subscription due. It's been nearly impossible to connect my thermometer and have the temperature recorded in the app. It feels like the app is essentially requiring me to pay for the expensive oura ring or get an apple watch.

Overall, I find this app lackluster. My partner sent me this to help track her cycle and when we should be using protection. It's certainly not worth the extortionate amount she pays for it. Are the widgets supposed to do anything? When I added an NC widget to my home screen, it just constantly says "open app" and doesn't display any actual information on the widget. I don't think you all know how widgets are supposed to work. You all seem to be using them as a "reminder" to open the app.
