Reviews for Navigation Pro: Maps on Watch

I'd like to give 5 stars, but feel it needs a little more refinement, but for what it costs, it is MORE than worth it. I'd recommend it 100%. So handy alot of times. I have not experienced most of the glitches I've read about. More customization would be nice, voices etc. Once in a while it won't speak directions and a simple 1min reboot of the active2 fixes. Could be a phone/car Bluetooth issue.

Great app. I did have an issue with my phone (Note8+Gear S3) GPS not working properly if auto run was NOT turned on. It would route, lose GPS connection and i would have to back out of the route and start again and then it works without dropping. This is while having NavigationPro installed, but not set to autolaunch with maps. Once I turned on the autorun on NavigationPro app gps signal wasnt dropped when the watch app loaded.

The watch app keeps telling me to enable notifications, which I have already done. It also keeps disconnecting from the phone. I would love to be able to use this app but so far I have not had much luck. I was also not refunded the amount that I paid for the app even though it's been stated several times that there is an automatic refund for this purchase at the moment. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Excellent app, does what it's suppose to. Love the rotation of the app. Two Isssues. 1) The voice could sound better..maybe add different voice options, and speech speed?...It also makes a poping noise when initiating the voice. 2) Every 12 seconds the Navigation screen flashes on/off . Dim settings don't work either, stays on bright. Watch won't go to sleep either. I'd like to be able to flip wrist and the Navigation screen come back on, but go back off when not looking. "Galaxy S3 Frontier".

Overall this is a very handy app, though I think my biggest issue is the fact that it keeps the screen on; I think it should light up for notifications or when you turn your wrist, like the normal watch face. Also if only it could show you a display of the map, but obviously that's a limitation of the watch itself. But in any case, this app is probably the best you're going to get on a Galaxy Watch.

Easy to use minimalistic navigation app. Easy to read and fairly accurate distance measurements. The only reason its not 5 stars is, I have trouble playing music when its open. Everytime my phone reads out the next turn when i have music playing the watch app turns off and my music stops. Doesnt happen when I don't use the watch app.

Indispensable app. But you must change settings related to this app and Google Maps going to sleep in the background. Crucially on Samsung phones, go into the power saving menu and do not select a power saving mode. Also turn off 'Adaptive Power Saving'. (You can always turn it back on when not using Navigation Pro). It then works flawlessly. I especially recommend having music through BT buds and G Maps voice guidance for the turns for an awesome experience. 5 Stars. Thank you.

Downloaded this app today and was delighted at how it gives me the information I really need to navigate in super large display. Installation was a snap. I guess if there was anything I could ask for it's the speed limit in the small font, rather than current time.

Since day number 1 it's still rocking! ai have suggested this to friends and family and all are satisfied

Pathetic. Had been using navigation wear free version which was decent. Thought navigation pro will be better, they don't have trial/free version you have to buy and I did that. Now repenting. The app just failed to connect with mobile. And it made my galaxy s21 ultra crash, the first app to make this power machine crash. Kudos to the developer. Update: Reinstalled, power saving mode off, battery was not optimized but it still didn't work. But thanks to the developer to initiate the refund.

It actually works. I know that's a low bar but, lots of apps for the watch charge you and don't, there's no refund. (From the watch app store) This is great didn't need to pay for the watch app, then tried the phone app, it worked so I kept it. If it didn't then before 15 minutes I could in install and get a refund. So no loss. Galaxy Watch + Note 8 👍 Love the app, I've used maps a lot more because my watch gives me directions discreetly. Much easier to glance at my watch while driving or keep my phone in my back pack while cycling.

So you first install the "free" app, only then you are told it needs a partner app on your phone, which turns out is not free. Not very elegant. Either make the watch app paid, or notify me up front about the costs. In use: when I'm using it concurrently with the biking app, the latter will occasionally take the screen to show average speed etc. The navigation does not come back after that, not even when it's time for a new direction. Does not stop when arrived, draining battery.

this used to work great, now it keeps timing out on watch. I love in CT and when I'm using it it's twisty roads, narrow shoulders, tight traffic with bad drivers. I need the watch face to always stay on no matter what, and some update has stopped this. I've tried a bunch of recommendations on line, which the fact that there are a bunch of recommendations to fix this should tell you that someone messed up. please fix this

Exactly what I was looking for with my smartwatch. I wanted something so I didn't have to have my phone on for long trips and could get real time directions on my watch and it does that. It even vibrates on your wrist when you get close to your turn/exit. I was a little hesitant to pay for an app (I generally don't buy any apps), but this one was a fantastic purchase that helps me our every time I need it.

This is worth paying for! I usually drive and even though sometimes there is another person with me on the car telling me directions, it's so confusing and I missed turns because the other person told me to turn early or later, this app helps me immensely whenever I travel. I can drive safely while also know where and when I need to turn. I don't know if it's possible but a suggestion to make the app even better is perhaps allow us to use S voice on Gear to set destination or add route?

The app works but has a few flaws that make it unreliable. The watch vibration signaling an upcoming turn happens way to late to be useful. If you navigate to any other application or home screen on your watch the app will no longer alert you at all. When I finish with a different app, it should revert back to GPS automatically if the GPS is still in use on my phone. It should also have the option to turn the screen off in between notifications. There's no reason for my screen to be on my entire trip. It kills the battery way to fast. Please allow me to turn my screen off, not just dim it. Not worth the 2 dollars.

This app is a complete let down. Takes forever (up to 10 minutes) to connect to the phone and constantly freezes. This is in turn destroys the battery life of your watch. Occasionally it just compleatly freezes your watch and you have to restart just to operate. Additionally it is basically useless, as the navigation is only accurate while the GPS App is open and on the main screen of the phone. Unable to use while driving or even just walking around the city with any kind of accuracy.

Much more useful and convenient than I originally thought it would be. The only thing I'm not crazy about is how the navigation starts automatically on my watch when navigating with my phone in a vehicle (but I'm also not sure I can't change that). Otherwise, this is one of the few apps I added to the family library after purchasing to share with my immediate family. Definitely worth purchasing, no question. Edit: In the Advanced settings, watch navigation is easily disabled in vehicles!

The App is outstanding. For those of you thinking that the app doesn't work on your new Active 2, it's because you didn't go through and set all the settings correctly. If you can't figure things out from the instructions on this page or the app itself, then a simple Google Search will show you what you need to do, and there are a ton of settings not enabled that need to be to work properly, but once setup, it is amazing. I suggest having the always on top feature enabled by default in the installer, because why would you start directions and not want it to be the top thing you see on your phone without having to dig through to the NP app and start it manually?

Works great. I started using it a couple years ago, and it was a little unreliable when put into background mode. Either through improvements in the app and/or Android, it's rock solid now (mid 2023). Setup can potentially be a pain, but my experience was straightforward and only took a few minutes of making sure the proper permissions were granted on the phone and watch.
