Reviews for Nebula

I can't pause a video and pick up where I paused. I have to close it and reopen and navigate to where I was. I think playing videos is what most people use the app for so why can't you folks even get that core freature to work smoothly. I got an awesome deal for a year membership, $15 I think for Curiosity and Nebula. But even at that price I won't renew when the time comes unless the app is improved.

I don't know if it's just my phone or what, but this app runs really janky, far more often than I would like. Most of the time it's okay but sometimes it won't play without stopping for looooooong stretches and you can't download a single video in less than an hour when it is like that. The playback controls are also awkward (progress bar is frequently hidden in landscape, 10s rewind doesn't work when you hit it multiple times).

Just started using this app. It's mostly ok and I was surprised the score is as low as it is. But I can't stand how slow it is to add something to watch later. When you press the menu item, that should just be instantaneous, but instead you have to wait until it gets saved or something for the menu to go away. Probably is just the first indication of lack of polish so we will see, but it gets very frustrating

Unfortunately very frustrating. The app just inexplicably pauses videos playing in the background every ~10 minutes and requires you to re-open it and press play again. Sometimes it just crashes when you try to open it back up. If it weren't for the carrot of supporting the content creators, I definitely wouldn't use it. For reference, I have a Pixel 6 running Android 13.

First off, the content is great, but the app itself has a lot to be desired. No way to change video quality (which always seems to play in low for some reason), no playlists or or auto play, can't pause or play using the buttons on my bluetooth headset, and plenty more QOL issues. There's potential here, but it just needs to be presented in a better, more usable package.

Great content on a technically clunky app. Potential subscribers who watch on several devices should be particularly aware of how payment is collected. I subscribed on Google Play on Android expecting the price to cover every platform, the same as Prime or Netflix. But when I loaded it on Roku, I had to pay AGAIN, albeit a pound cheaper. I paid but then cancelled on Play. I'm not going to have a breakdown over £5.49, the price of lunch, but it did leave a sour taste.

Lifetime sub here. I paid because I believe in their mission of creators being free to be able to make what they want, but I think the app still needs a lot of work. None of the recommendations I get are interesting to me (I think this is because they'll only recommend one video per channel in a category); there's no queue/dynamic playlist; autoplay doesn't seem to work a lot of the time. I want you guys to succeed but right now it's easier to use youtube vanced to watch the same videos.

Great idea for an app. However downloading large videos is taking longer than 24 hours (and still going) at this point, and the buffering is so bad that it's taking me 2 hours to watch 45 minutes of footage. This isn't happening for me on other apps, so I don't think it is just due to my WiFi. I feel bad because I'd rather not go to YouTube, but I don't see any other way to finish the video I'm watching at this point.

I appreciate Nebula for what it is and enjoy that there is an app so I can listen to videos on my phone. However, the app is Extremely buggy, crashing and/or ceasing to respond routinely when I use it. I almost always wind up having to force close and reopen the app several times in a single session for one reason or another. There is also no playlist option, which is disappointing. For a paid service, I wish it worked a bit better.

Nebula is an AMAZING service! It has so much to offer and at a world-beating price! BUT... the app itself is garbage. Idk who is responsible for maintaining it but its effectively unusable. I've never used an app that gave me so much trouble. Sometimes it simply wont load. Even when i clear the cache, close down all my background apps, and have full wireless or wifi bars. Im done fighting. When my annual subscription for this year is done, if they havent fixed it, Im canceling my subscription.

Great idea, buggy execution. Love the idea of a subscription-based, rather than advertisement driven platform. But it's all but completely unusable. When I stop watching to do something else and then go back, it does not play. On top of that there is no bug reporting system built in. I do not normally have diagnostic sharing turned on, but I do for this in hopes that they can improve usability.

This app seems to run fine on my Samsung S22 Ultra, but it won't even load at all on my Galaxy Tab S7 FE. I've tried restarting my tablet after the app installs, un-installing and re-unstalling the app. Nothing seems to make it work. It's unfortunate as I rarely watch shows on my phone (I'm old Gen X-er and watching stuff on a phone screen is just too small for me). The content seems great- just wish the app worked on all platforms.

Unable to play item We are unable to connect to servers. Please check your connection. The internet connection is fine. I can get to Nebula in a browser on the phone and play it there. It's the app that's broken (it also crashed one of the times it showed this error). Promising service with a lot of good content, but a broken app...kind of makes that content hard to access. Separately, I really miss picture-in-picture viewing and consistently having captions from YouTube.

Fantastic service, though the app isn't the best I suppose One of Nebula's biggest draws in my opinion is the offline videos, so it's annoying that the page the app always wants to load wants to use data. A quick check to see if I'm online and not trying to load the page if I'm not would go a long way (as would an option to have it do that if you're on data) Cause that load is a bit of a time waster at the moment I'd also like the option to download videos as audio only for storage space

Content is fine, the service is pretty bad. It's structured strangely, constantly fails to connect to servers despite perfect internet, and is missing a lot of easy QOL features that i guess they couldn't be bothered to program. It's actually quite easy to make it so clicking the channel icon from a thumbnail takes you directly to the channel. Still can't do that, which might not bother me so much if the videos would load properly without dropping connection and crashing the app.

The service is great, a ton of awesome content with no ads, can download anything you want to watch offline, totally worth the money. My 2 stars are for the app itself, it needs work. It crashes and gives "unable to play" errors all the time. I don't have those kinds of problems with any other app on my phone or when I use Nebula on my PC. Also I wish videos had comments, but I assume they don't do that to avoid having to moderate them. I still miss that feature though

There's a bug where if you're browsing and the list of videos you're viewing us at the bottom of the screen. Whenever I try and scroll enough to read the titles of the videos, since all I can see are the thumbnail, the app jumps away from the bottom of the feed, up a row of videos or two. Forcing me to scroll back down to see what I've missed. It's an incredibly frustrating experience not being able to just scroll through a row videos without it launching somewhere else in the app.

I love the content and the creators and the whole model, I'm here for it, but the app has issues. Some videos get weird and stuck for me and refuse to play, it'll say it can't connect to the server, but other videos work and the specific broken ones stay broken. It often happens to one's I watched partway and didn't finish, they'll stop working when I try to come back and watch the rest. Please fix? I want to be able to tell my friends how great it is without reservation.

Like everyone else on here, love the content but for the last few months especially the app has been completely broken. Have to constantly back out and clear the cache to get videos to play, randomly hard closes itself when I'm trying to play it in the background, frequent issues casting to Chromecast, etc. It's a shame because the creators on this platform make some damn fine work. Come on Nebula team, fix this thing!

I love Nebula and I'm happy to support it! My only issue is that it tends to crash often — between videos, right when one ends, or when I try to minimize the app to check something else / put the video into popup mode. And I'd also love to see a queue function added. I often put videos or podcasts on when I'm cleaning or working, and it would make things a whole lot easier if I could just load a few up to play while I scrub floors.
