So here's my take on the Newark Advocate app. I've tested a bunch of local news apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The variety of content is great - you get everything from community stories to sports coverage. And the app itself is well-designed and easy to navigate, which I appreciate. On the downside, the free version has more ads than I'd like, and I found the push notifications to be a little overwhelming at times. But those are fairly minor issues.
