Reviews for Nextdoor: Neighborhood Network

I can't upload videos. First, the app won't access my videos at all. I tried moving them to different albums that it has access to, but no luck. I changed the videos to GIFs. The app shows the GIF uploading successfully, but once the post is made, it's not there at all. I tried force-stopping/clearing storage and cache; it still doesn't work for Android.

the updates this week stink. I cannot edit my comments. the icon dots are almost invisible. there is no ability to see updates to earlier posts. I can't navigate at all. 🤔🤬 In fact I just had a (red) 9 on my app icon, indicating updates to items I commented on, but I can't see them. there no listing of the items, that used to be in yellow, when I open the app. 😪

Not sure what's going on, but the app isn't loading. It just constantly does the swirl, showing it's trying to load. Has worked up until today. Edited 8/3/2025 - Logged in on a webpage worked fine so I decided app was having some issue. Uninstalled app and reinstalled. Working again. No Idea what hiccup was with not completely loading.

This app is very rough around the edges. Search results are often irrelevant. For some reason this app eats up storage space on my phone. The first time I noticed it the app size was over 10gb. I have to clear app data to bring it back to the the install size. This is a constant issue. I don't understand how a forum can eat so much disk space. The devs need to look in to this.

THIS REVIEW STILL STANDS. The app constantly notifies you of events that aren't evening happening near you. I'm part of the group in my neighborhood but it never notifies me of posts in my community no matter what options I've enabled in the notifications settings or what device I'm using. There are way to many settings in the app. I only keep it for the possibly one to two times a year I might actually find information relevant to my neighborhood.

A useful app for local stuff. The New version looks better and has better options. The long list of Notifications to manage is a hassle to turn off. Unless I'm missing the"Turn off ALL notifications" button, you have to turn off about 20 different types. While that makes the app notifications very customizable, it seems excessive.

Welcome to Next Door Advertisements! Way too many ads, and they are cleverly disguised to look like posts so you don't just scan over them. I just did a count and of the first 28 posts in my feed, 10 of them are ads. 35% of my feed is nothing but advertisements. Life is too short to waste looking at so many ads. I'm sure somebody somewhere is counting impressions to feed into sales metrics, you go get em sales guy.

Don't install if you hate getting email notifications by default. I kept getting notifications through email and when I went into the app to disable it, there wasn't a single 'disable all email notifications' setting and I had to go through every single category of alerts to turn off notifications. This app just seems more hassle than it's worth

I rarely use this app anymore. It used to be good but now between the ads and business accounts it's so cluttered with useless stuff that I no longer like it. There are literally more ads than posts. I understand you need to make money but c'mon!! Do better! EDIT: Now you have taken away the ability to sort the feed the way I want it. I can only see it in the order you decide. You just lost another star!!

NEW GRAPHICS CAN'T HIDE THE SAME TIRED BUGS — 1. There is ALWAYS an "unread message" in my Inbox. No matter how many times I open and close the message, it always gives me the red dot with the "1" in the center. The message is several months old. 2. The annoying pop-up notification, "Updates you may have missed" that appears THE MOMENT you close the program. C'mon, Nextdoor! Are we really supposed to believe your sub-par garbage coders can't fix these five-year-old bugs?? Get with the program!!
