I paid the $10 and spent two hours getting everything set up on the app through my Android phone, only to discover it won't work on my kids' Chromebooks or through a browser. The app looks like it would work great for our family, but it needs to be compatible on more devices.
Reviews for Nipto: Split Household Chores
← Back to Nipto: Split Household ChoresGreat app which helps my husband having a clue of what needs to be done without me having to order him around, and helps us dividing tasks better. It also visualises how much you actually get done on a day where you thought you did 'nothing'. Minus one star for the lack of support, sent an email with questions 2 months ago and still no answer.
I will forever recommend this app to everyone I know. Not only is it amazing for couples and families looking to split chores evenly (or to first prove that chores are not split evenly, lol), it's also amazing for individuals that struggle with productivity. Buy the premium version! Now I can set tasks to be done every day, 3 days, 7 days, etc. It's incredibly helpful to keep a home schedule!
First week in and have been enjoying it so far. I wish it had a web feature so I can have it on a laptop or otherwise connected to a monitor. I'm a visual person and when my phone is in my pocket the chores list doesn't exist. But if it's on a monitor or TV I can't walk past it without seeing it. Also having a seperate scale of today's points would be better than only seeing the weeks progress. Seeing the week's total makes it harder to stay engaged on Friday when I have a bunch of points.
This app has been awesome for getting my kids motivated!! My oldest has been trying to outdo himself every week, and even my three year old loves to do her chores and get points! One thing I would change is making it easier to give partial credit if a kid only does half the job, or 3/4 of it. I have figured out work arounds, but the app is working slower since the update and the workarounds, and even the usage if the app, has become more difficult.
I tested the free version, wich allows full functionality but limits the Nr of tasks. I bought the premium version, but it responds ridiculously slow. You have to wait ~10 seconds after EVERY button press, making it totally unworkable. The functionality is great though, with one exception: if you do task rotation, you can't set the initial conditions. It's always the same person assigned at the start of the task rotation. Doesn't work well.
Seems like this app isn't being worked on anymore. Too bad cus it's really good in a number of ways, but I'm missing a few features and there are also still some bugs. Also some features like the icon with a yellow clock, isn't explained anywhere and I guess it's for postponing a task till next time but it doesn't seem to be always working properly. Love that you can just pay a one time fee though, there are way too many subscription services these days.
It's difficult to customize lists with this app. I wish I could categorize chores by room, because I have two guest bedrooms and an office and I don't know where to put the chores corresponding to those rooms and I don't do all the tasks for them at the same time. I tried adding an extra list but the app doesn't seem to let me. I like this app because it includes making meals as a chore which I think is more accurate than only including cleaning tasks. I also like the rules and rewards.
Great Motivator. This app is working in a way I never thought would help with getting the little to do her chores but she wants to "win" so she's doing everything she can. Only complaint is lag. It seems to hang and waiting to add stuff is a bit annoying. Also input. When I choose someone to "validate" I don't want to constantly check to see if I am unchecked so I'm not validated too.
Me and my bf have tested this app a short week and its good but not perfect, we miss dark mode first off all, its a lot of bright white when logging your tasks at the end of the day. I would like an option to choose who starts when rotating between people so not one person always starts. And i would love for a way to get the tasks into my own calendar so i can use my regular sectograph to keep track, because Nipto is really bad at notifications!
I have a lifetime subscription because the task scheduling and assignment works great. However, tasks that are completed some time ago are displayed as "did this Invalid date", which is very uninformative. Now I don't know when was the last time some tasks were completed. I contacted the support team via the app, but unfortunately I'm not getting any reply.
It's got potential. Checking a task off that you've completed should be so very simple, but you have to go through the "Validate" button to do that and scroll down and try to find it like a scavenger hunt. So odd. It feels like you should be able to mark a task as done or completed from anywhere in the app, but it seems hidden and buried. Love the idea and concept of this app, but it needs some work.
Needs a widget! I picked this chore app for my kids because I couldn't get them to follow a chore schedule and actually do them. So I tried the points kind, but they were a pain to set up, the kind where do all these this week and get an allowance but then if they missed one they'd just give up since they wouldn't get allowance. Finally I landed on a competition: whoever does the most wins. We'll see if it works! If it does I'll spring for premium. I like that it's one time fee.
It's a fun and motivational tool to keep track of tasks for a group. As mentioned by others, I would like to be able to create one-time tasks. I would also like tool tips to be added throughout the app. It took longer than it should have to figure out how some of the features work, such as weekly tasks and smart repeat tasks, and what happens to incomplete tasks at the end of the day. Overall, a great app that seems to be getting updates regularly to improve!
My boyfriend and I absolutely love the app. It's the best app I've come across in a while! It has no overbearing/annoying ads, is visually appealing with its cute graphics/ aesthetic, and feels really well thought out in terms of execution and user friendliness. It's really adorable, and we've found ourselves committing to household tasks a lot better! 10/10 recommend.
It's an alright app, but it doesn't have two main features that would make the app far more effective. One, there's no widgets so it's a bit unhelpful to use if you have memory issues because you'll now have to remember to open the app in the first place! It also have no dark mode or customizable anything, so, yeah. It's a really good theory, pretty self-explanatory to use, but it's missing some major parts that seem to be pretty overlooked
Honestly, much better than any other chore app out there. Many if not all of the features are free, no ads, it's super cute and visually appealing. Gives you tons of options for scheduling tasks and reminders, assigning tasks and, of course, friendly competition never hurt anyone! Would recommend. I would love to see a widget for this app though (am I the only one that loves widgets still?)
I love the idea of this app!! We are just a couple weeks in and our family is starting to work better together with chores. I love that it is cheap one time price!! Someone really wants to help people, WAY TO GO!! It could use some tweaking, especially with validating tasks. The interface is kind of confusing. Specifically, with forgotten validations from past days. It's hard to apply something to the correct day once it is past.
No warning for the pay wall block- all of a sudden, immediately after giving this app 5 stars, now I can't schedule any more tasks without buying premium. And $10?? If it was a one- time payment that would be one thing, but it seems like everyone in my group would have to pay. I love this app, its been really helpful, but it would have been nice if the restrictions for free use and details of purchasing premium were more transparent.
This app is seriously SO helpful. I can see this becoming essential for our family. I'll definitely update my review to 5 stars if they get the notifications working consistently. That's the only small issue we've been having, is that even when we have all the notification settings on, and explicit notification permissions set in our phones, we usually don't get any of the notifications. Having regular reminders is important for an app like this. Other than that small hang-up, it's perfect!!
