Validated that "Use Precise Location" is turned on. Now the message pops up every 25 minutes . Performed reinstall of Norton and now the message pops up every 10 minutes. We have gone from bad to worse.. Issues with newest version. Keeps telling me that I have connected to a new network every hour. I only have one network. Never had this problem till I upgraded to the newest version.
Reviews for Norton360 Antivirus & Security
← Back to Norton360 Antivirus & SecurityGetting a notification about every ten minutes that I've joined a new network since the last update a week ago. workaround for location totally ineffective. Now Norton says it's a known bug but somehow is in no hurry to fix it. They HOPE TO FIX IT. I paid all this money for this? Unbelievable. I'm cancelling my subscription and you should too. I waited a week for an update but clearly there isn't one coming.
Wonderful Tool. Great for quick view of potential problems on PC or Android / iOS devices. Keeps a wonderful Frontline notification of any ongoing issues. Nothing is a substitute for safe practices regarding your personal data, but this is the best paid platform I have used (imo). It is bulky. With The speed of current processors, small hard drives and low memory being a thing of the past, I don't find that much of a concern.
Most reliable antivirus app I've ever used! Always alerts me to potential threats and will not allow me to proceed (unless you're willing to accept the potential risk, then you can click proceed anyway). Constantly updating its software to stay a step ahead of potential threats as well as constantly updating new safety features available with your current subscription.
Norton has been a leading antivirus from the advent of personal computing. They now have an entire stable of options that make it easier to keep our myriad devices secure. I am only dinging a star because of the unrelenting push to buy even more. Update: Yes! I was able to turn of the promotions and therefore added the fifth star. Norton really is the best! David, I truly appreciate the help.
Does a good job in protecting against malware, unsafe sites, spam, etc. Does a bad job in explaining clearly BEFORE purchase how many devices the 14.95 covers - 1, 2 or what? Another issue is the reference to the VPN - only in the premium version - not in this for Android. All that said, it sincerely does a good job - the days of needing to speak to Norton support are long gone.
This app is getting far too complicated. I loved Norton Anti Virus as it just worked. Not any more David: App security...requires setup Safe sms: setup required Safe web: setup required I have used Norton for years. Norton anti virus was simple and just worked. You are trying to incorporate too many functions into what should be a simple install and forget app.
I have been a long time Norton user and loved it. The past year it has been nothing but problems. 1st, I am inundated with ads to buy more stuff. if I run a scan it tells me there are all these other issues that they will fix if you buy more! 2nd it is causing everything to run slow (partly due to all their pop up ads). I still have several months left on my subscription but I want to get rid of this now. The only semi beneficial item is the password manager.
I have used Norton for a long time now. the only issue I've had has been since downloading two of the apps, this one and another I didn't end up needing, both times I clicked the login button, the loading screen popped up, and after a few seconds a blank white page would appear. I have not been able to login after multiple tries.
I bought Norton 360 at a steal on Amazon (£14) 5 years ago & I'm still using it as I love it. Setting up my account and installing on the 5 devices was very easy. Yes you need to agree to auto-renewal & enter card details, but just cancel a couple of weeks before the renewal is due - no problem. I like the extra security features such as AI Genie, VPN, etc and it all works in the background with no effect on normal usage of any of the devices. I totally recommend it.
The app seems to do what it says although you have no idea it does unless it fails. It can be too intrusive with messages you are at risk that end up being a sales pitch for add ons. The most recent update is annoying as it keeps saying a new network has been detected which ends up being my home wifi that is meant to be trusted.
It's great and has saved me from many dodgy websites and probably much more I've not even known about but I have been using it for so many years. I remember when everything was included and you didn't get pop-ups because now it seems to always constantly want to upgrade me to things I'm sure I used to pay for anyway 😞 in fact, it purses me to leave a review. what I did do years ago what was five star but now knocking it down to three because it keeps pestering me.
17.09.25 app scan before downloading now stopped working on app store. Anything else! 02.10.25 updated app and still no change. Two issues still present. App scan for the app store won't scan and new network detected still appearing. loosing confidence fast with Norton. Absolutely pitiful. will give it a bit longer and then cancel subscription if nothing changes.
I wrote a glowing review in 2018 for Norton 360 (or its earlier edition). My opinion has tanked, primarily because the app and the Norton servers will NOT stop trying to SELL $$ add-ons using scare tactics that are hard to ignore. It's an expensive suite and the whole purpose of Norton should be to LOWER anxiety, not CONSTANTLY raise it to fever pitch levels. Despite my emails and repeatedly checking boxes to STOP sending ads for add-on apps they never stop nor even decrease in frequency.
Couldn't even remove simple adware. I accidentally downloaded some adware after using that app, "Scoopz." I wanted to avoid factory resetting my phone, so I downloaded Norton to promptly find and remove the file that's causing all the pop -up ads for me. Well, I scanned, even downloaded some extra apps from Norton, and Norton continuously said there was nothing wrong with my phone. Meanwhile, pop-up ads continued every 10 seconds or so, so I had to factory reset my phone anyway.
I've been using Norton for years and this is getting silly. I keep getting the new network popup since the latest update. Turn on precise location but no help. Also, why did they get rid of the settings to scan Google play apps before you download them? I used that scan frequently and now it's just gone. And why is it when I do a manual scan in the morning and do one before I go to bed it'll say the last scan was a day ago? Update: No improvement. When is the next patch coming out?
Suddenly I'm receiving never-ending notifications that a new network was detected. Tap on the notification and - guess what? - no new network. Just the same home network I've used for years. This started happening after the recent update. It's annoying as heck and I've turned off WiFi Security notifications. If that doesn't stop them then I'll have to shut off all Norton notifications. Note that "precise location" was already on and turning on "allow all the time" DOES NOT fix the problem.
I am getting constant (and I mean CONSTANT) "issues" alerts for my wifi, which after clicking Review and scanning, always says secure and strong encryption. I never used to get these. After I resolve, another immediately pops up . What's going on? UPDATE: I finally uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I've been free of these alerts ever since. Thank goodness! Updated my rating to 5 stars. Glitches happen.
Caution... I had this for a few years, submitted feedback and I'm finally sick of the Norton suite. The VPN, rarely auto connects, split tunneling does not work, me having to constantly manually turn on the VPN on open networks is ridiculous. You get constant pop-ups (mainly desktop) interrupting your browsing to tell you "you are at risk" only to find when you click on resolve it's just trying to sell you on another service. 360 is deceptive marketing, because it sure as heck isn't.
Cancelling. I've used Norton on every device I have for over 20 years. I'm done! Ever since LifeLock took over, this app went from the best to the worse. I constantly get ads that I tell not to show again that pop up with stupid scare tactics for me to buy more stuff, invasive popups, horrible integration, and overpriced services that don't work as advertised. Constantly says I'm on a new network even with precise location on.
