Love this app. Wish easier to save images to photos
Reviews for NotanIzer
← Back to NotanIzerExcellent for highlighting shadow and light in a picture
Not easy to find files to open b3cause it insists on showing all folders
It is not possible to increase the size of the modified image. The modified image hardly fills the screen.
What a great app! This will really help to create better paintings!
The experience I get when this app is extremely wonderful. To get the values right is awesome. I'm glad to have this tool. Thank You Notanlzer
This is a game changer for me! It helps me make better choices about composition for my landscapes.
Great help for improving my drawing skills; helps a lot with value studies before starting a watercolor painting.
The app is good. But there is no easy way to Save it on your phone's image Gallery.
Notanizer is a powerful, easy-to-use tool to help get at the tonal structure of your composition. Makes it easier to spot and fix weak shapes and areas.
This is better than See Value for iOS as there are far more options for choosing values. Brilliant. Much easier and effective, love it.
Have read about this technique in art books. This app does it all for you, enabling a clear definition of the major shapes in the subject.
Love it use it at the beginning, middle, and end to check my contrast in my drawings and paintings for the past year. It has really took my work to a higher level.
This app is amazing. I've been looking for something like this for years. I can't afford a monthly subscription to Photoshop just to look at a value map to help see them better for my paintings. This is just what I needed! Wonderful thank you. 😊
Whereas I ran into a problem with the app, I contacted tech support and was given a work around. Then a few days I was personally notified that a fix was to be found on Google Play Store. An excellent product and excellent customer service. ------------------ Original bug report --------- After the 10/26/19 fix, the import image button no longer works. That was the only way I ever used it. I have an LG model number LM-Q710TS.
I love NotanIzer. I used to convert photos to black and white and use that as my reference for painting. NotanIzer is the gold standard of reference development. When I decide on the number of levels I then develop my palette with the same number of values pre mixed. It works for "my brain"!
so far so good. I haven't printed with it yet, but the level of detail I can achieve on screen is very good. maybe a resolution increase to pull out finer details wouldn't go amiss, but a great, easy to use app.
Bravo! Just what I was looking for! I will add another star if there is cutout that allows me to dynamically compose and crop the image, allowing me save multiple cropped outputs. 3/Sep/19:Revised review: After using it for a while I am really pleased with this app. By dynamically changing the 4 value controls I am able to come up with the best value compositions. I have decided to give that extra star. I have found other apps for cropping and rotating the result.
I'm learning to oil paint. The most essential skill after drawing is discriminating where the value changes are because values define form and form is what identifies one object from another. Notanlzer assists you in defining upwards of 9 values (although 5 or 6 is plenty to 'turn a form'). Once you become accustomed to "seeing" value changes, you’ll not need to rely on this App as much.
Incredible tool for rapidly assessing relative values within a photo. Aspiring artists take heed, however: you still need to do studies without any tools, because you must make *decisions* about what should be light and dark (not just what *is* light and dark). This tool makes it easier to start "seeing" the relationships of light and dark, though, and that's an invaluable starting point.
