I wouldn't pay $9.99 a week when it clearly states $.99 is false advertising. I can find the same book on another app and read it for free. Granted I have to watch ads or get coins for other chapters but that's still FREE and better than $40 a month.
Reviews for NovelWorld - Enjoy novels
← Back to NovelWorld - Enjoy novelsThe books seem to be great... I bought the vip newbie thing for $.99 for a week... So that I could read more... Now that my vip has run out, I can't finish the book that I'm reading... I'm at 90% complete on the book... I'm not going to pay $9.99 a week to keep the vip... So it's been a waste of time... I can start another book but what is the point... I think I'm just going to uninstall and go back to my other reading apps...
False advertising. It's promoted as "just .99 cents" and then in fine print it says 15$ a week. Now, if you had started with, 15$ subscription weekly in order to read all books on the platform" I might have explored. But no. You put it in the fine print, and that's shady.
Do not install unless you want to pay for the app. Need opinion of watching ad to continue reading story. Was only on book I was able to read one book and it was unfinished with the story really sucked. If you were to offer opinions to earn coins to buy chapters. And offer ads to maybe get another chapter free to read I will reinstall the app. But until then you get 1 🌟 from me.
I found a good story from this app on Facebook. It showed .99 cents ea week for VIP, I have no issue paying that. But after the week is up then they want $9.99 a WEEK for access. I'm not going to pay $40-$50 a month for books with major grammar and spelling problems. I could see $9.99 a month, that is reasonable. These fuus are just trying to price gouge as much as they can.
Paid the 99¢ promo to read more of a book. I uninstalled the app. The book was getting too repetitive and uninteresting. I had an email notice of the subscription automatically renewing after date. (would be continued with the non promo price.) First time I've spent money for an app. I was sent an email. The subscription is separate from the app being installed.
I like the stories but won't continue to read after a certain point. The app is expensive to read on even if the first seven days is only 7 bucks. $10 bucks a week is expensive considering there are days you won't be able to use it and the only other option is $130 for the year but your dropping that right away. Need smaller options for those who can't drop so much money so fast
Honestly I don't see why they want you to pay ninety nine cent a week or this much just a subscribe to read a novel. I Mean I know plenty of novels that you only have to watch ads or actually wait an hour just to read a page. But. Subscribe it doesn't make sense. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this at all.I have found other apps that are worth watching ads to read the novel like Goodnovel.
I deleted this app once i realized it was like all the others and charged a rediculous amount just to see each chapter and even complete one book. Now two weeks later I've just realized it's still charging my card at least two weekly payments can't seem to find anywhere to reach out to a help center to get it to stop!! Do not use this app.
This app advertised .99 for the first week and then 9.99 every week after that. I did not like the app or use it as much as I thought I would when I decided to try it. I tried to cancel my subscription before the second payment was due and ever since then it has said "This account is under review for cancelation. Are you sure tou want to cancel this account?" The choices are "cancel" or "reopen account." It has continued to charge me 10.83 since then. I'm frustrated that I am now paying for it.
When reading the app from Facebook, it clearly says on the bottom that for .99$ you can read the whole book. It is false advertising and clickbait. It is free the first 5 chapters. But after that it is .99$ A WEEK and it wants the user to subscribe with Google pay. It has only two options .99$ a week or $129 for the year. And it does not say it unlocks the whole book. False advertising!!! I have proof!
My only problem is that it said the cost was $0.99 weekly, the first week, yea it was. A week goes by, they charged me 9.99 ( well, they attempted to. Thecard I have linked for this I had just enough to cover the weekly sub of $0.99. Blessedly, it was declined . This is why i used the card I did for it. This is 100% a bait and switch. There was nothing that stated it was a trial type thing when I did the sub (or even later). How is this legal? Beware of doing their subs.
I liked the fact that it said all books were free to read but then charged me the 99 cents for VIP access. I didn't mind as it unlocked all the chapters and the books to read. What I find out the 2nd week I was charged $9.99... even though I keep getting pop up notifications saying that it's only 99 cents a week. This is very misleading. I don't mind paying $9.99 for the subscription if it was monthly not weekly. In the end $40 a month is pricey but you still pay less than paying each chapter.
Downloaded bc I found an interesting book through and add. Pops up for payment options, says $0.99 weekly for newbies. Sure, I can do this long enough to read the 1 book. Pay the $0.99. the VERY next week I get charged $9.99. canceled subscription. Have not refunded my money nor can I read the book this week that I ALREADY paid for. So, yeah I fell for the scam. Thanks.
(Update at the bottom) Price!!! I don't mind in the slightest paying to read, even self published stuff like this. But $40 a month is EXTREMELY ridiculous. My Amazon Kindle account doesn't even cost that much. I took my first week and $0.99 and canceled before the $9.99 a week started. The books were okay but that price!! I canceled my account the same day I did this review and I was still charged for it today. This is ridiculous!
I would give it a 5.. Unfortunately I paid for it, got pretty far into my book, and now it won't load. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now it won't let me log back in. If they can fix it, I'll gladly fix my rating. It does say $1 for the first week, and then $9.99 a week after that. which isn't bad since you pay that or more on coins in other apps. A lot of people are saying it's a scam and they don't tell you that. When you go to pay the $1, it literally tells you $9.99 a week after that.
I started a trail subscription. They charged me for a year longs subscription, ahead of time (like before the agreement stated). I canceled within the correct deadline and still haven't recieved my refund. (I had the trail for a day and a half) You have to have a subscription to read ANY book. This app isn't worth it, there are plenty better that won't steal from you. Oh and I've reached out to them 3 different ways about the issue and I've recieved nothing in return.
Very unhappy with this app. I decided to try it because of the .99 price it was advertised at it. I found I didn't like it or how it was set up. I tried cancelling before the next payment and ever since it keep saying "This account is under review for cancellation. Are you sure you want to cancel this account?" The only option is to "cancel" or "reopen account". I have now been charged over $10 weekly as I am trying to CANCEL the account. I am very angry and frustrated.
False advertising! Read other reviews too!!!! Mine said that with a subscription you get to read 1,000 plus books for free. They give you an option of 99¢ a week or $129.99 for the year. That is not free. The math ain't mathin! Hell I would have read them if it was 99¢ a book. That would have been a better deal. But y'all want to charge us an arm and a leg for these books when we don't even get a physical copy of them. Smh.
Was morethan willing to pay the 99cents per week. I would have payed up to 4.99 a week. But 9.99 a week is a bit steep. Especially when you can not read the book offline. Also i have a good signal and would not load chapters at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. But still no change. It would not let sign back in with my google as well. Witch this is all a shame because i was really injoying some of the books i found. I may come back and try again at a later date.
