I loved the content but the app was constantly losing connection. I'm not sure if it's a networking polling issue or a buffer issue, but if you use it while driving on Android and you drive through a temporary dead zone (tunnel), the app never reconnects. It's so frustrating. It constantly tells me I'm offline when every other connected app works. I reported it to the company but got an unkind response saying they did not refund and accusing me out for waiting to report it :(

The app is very susceptible to slight network changes and often freezes as I move around my office. Other streaming platforms do not have this problem. The Save offline is also pretty buggy and unclear when save is successful. Lastly, I wish hard downloading files was easier.
New year, new decade, new review, same terrible app. The app does not reliably shuffle (will stop after 3 or 4 songs), does not work when switching from WiFi to data or vice versa, sometimes fails to work offline, and crashes randomly. I paid for a subscription, yet I've never seen this app fix these issues despite being a user for close to a year. Amazing when it works, terrible when it doesn't.
As a service, nugs is great. As an Android app, it's not so good. Takes a solid 45 second to list my offline music tab. (5 albums.) Things that are downloaded sometimes don't play without an internet connection. Concurrent downloading does not seem to work. I live in a place with spotty cell coverage and offline support is the only thing that matters and this looks like it should be great but just doesn't work well.
I really wanted to give this app a higher score. But it is NOT user friendly. It's hard to navigate the pages and find/do what you want. There's a lot of guessing and hoping. The "sign in" button is tiny and placed near the bottom. The "live" button is in an inconvenient place. Customer service seems under staffed too. I could say more but you get the idea.. Its quite aggravating. Sorry 2 stars is the best I can currently give
This app is terrible! I've reached out to customer service and they deny at all turns. 1. You have to input what you're looking for in the search bar letter for letter or the result won't pop up. 2. When listening to shows in my car and getting out to run a quick errand, I have to restart the app, find the song and scroll to the place in the song where I left off every time. I don't have this problem with any other music apps. 3. Downloaded shows oftenwon't play when out of cell service
It's not user friendly, and it's not safe while driving. It doesn't pick up where I left off. When I want to finish listening to a show later, I log in and find it wants to play the second or third song, that I've already listened to, and put every track the queue twice. I always have to find the show and remember where I left off. Finding the show isn't easy, either, as the app interface doesn't show listening history. Then to make it worse, it just stops playing whenever. This costs money?!
I'm very frustrated with this app. I love the music selection and radio stream especially, but I just canceled my subscription last month, because I just couldn't take the app anymore. It's buggy. It stops randomly on its own. It doesn't work with chromecast. It doesn't work well in the car plugged in. It doesn't work well in the car with bluetooth. It doesn't work well at home plugged in or bluetooth. It crashes frequently, and eats battery like there's no tomorrow. This has been the same experience on my old phone, on my husband's different brand phone, and on my new phone. So I know it's not the device that's the issue. When I tried to contact customer support about some of these things, they've pretty much just said stuff like, well it works on my end so I don't know what to tell you, k bye. Again, sad to not have the music, but it's unusable at this point. Here's to saving fifteen bucks per month I guess.
If you're a fan of these bands, this is a great selection that you can't get anywhere else. That's the value of this subscription. The app itself is garbage and there seems to be no urgency to correct/improve it. Features like "playlists" and "download for offline playing" are excellent ideas that unfortunately don't work (at least on Samsung Galaxy S6 - S10). When notifications come in, the music volume lowers to accommodate the alert, but the volume doesn't return to normal. You have to close the app completely and re-launch it. Every. Single. Time.
Should be 5 stars but it becomes disconnected so often that i can't even use it. I stream lots of video and music. This is the only app that ever had this problem. Not to mention, I'm paying an incredibly high $24.99 per month for HiFi streaming. Pretty sure I'm due something for my troubles. Going to have to cancel subscription if not resolved very soon.
Overall I do enjoy this app but it is kind of buggy. Stops playing shows randomly. Won't save my spot if I pause a show and try to come back only 5min later. Really annoying trying to find where you were. It will also always start playing on your phone after disconnecting from a Bluetooth or Chromecast source. Not what I expect for a service I pay monthly for.
music is awesome but app itself needs a lot of work if you're playing a song and get a phone call it won't continue playing the song afterwards and most likely will have to open app and search for the band and certain show you were listening to, to get Mann m back to that song again. the player in notifications menu is unreliable and often not there. when your playing through a Bluetooth connection and you walk away it will then start playing on your phone instead of pausing.
I love the music options and the fact that so many of my favorite bands are on Nugs. The one problem I have is that the app tells me my phone is offline when its actually on ( I checked everything and I was on email and internet just before). I tried re booting the phone and uninstalling and re-installing the app, to to avail. Would love to do the monthly deal, but have to be able to trust it to work all the time....
This is ridiculous. The app was perfect for a while. Now the app closes if I turn off Bluetooth without pausing what's playing and waiting several seconds. If it connects to Bluetooth in my car and music is paused in the background, the app closes. If I play any other audio on my phone with the app paused in the background it closes. Also doesn't save my spot in the song in any of these instances. I just can't understand how it was working perfectly fine for months and then at some point everything started breaking again. Every other music app I have works perfectly fine except this one. It's just frustrating.
Nothing is cooler than reliving a great night of music, dancing and family! Nugs is great for this, and exploring new music. It isn't the best app tech wise - if you don't spell an artist's/band name exactly as they have it entered then it makes it extremely difficult to find them. Also, as soon as my service goes to 2 bars, it pauses; sometimes even my download files are messed up! However, i still love live music and love the apt for that reason!
The app is decent when it works. However, it barely works on my phone because the app thinks I don't have a subscription. I have to log out and log in to get my subscription active. This often happens when I can't logout. It just happened now. I stopped the music for 30 minutes and had to relogin to get a subscription. I reported a bug, and they closed it because I wasn't actively engaging with them. Buyer beware. REPLY: THEY CLOSED THE TICKET WHEN I DIDNT REPLY FOR A FEW DAYS. NOT FIXED.
Really disappointed. Paid $20 for Eric Church stream. Spent over an hour trying to use and gave up. Will not play on Apple TV via Firestick although the ad leads you to believe it does (You need an AppleTV device)- learned after the fact. looks like it may have worked with Chromecast but I dont have that any longer. Can watch on my laptop (big deal).. but no stream to TV. No refund policy on streams so....enjoy my $20 while I watch it on YouTube for free. Never again.
Could be great, DOES NOT REMEMBER WHERE YOU LEFT OFF!! You have to select what to listen to every time you start the app. I like to listen to full shows and I can't easily with this app. Also NO SUPPORT FOR ANDROID AUTO. Get with the times. At $13 a month these are basic things that every other app has. I won't be renewing after the free trial. Too bad because there's really a lot of good content.
Forced me to enter credit card info for 'free trial' - which is barely a trial of anything at all. NOTHING is functional, the trial is BS. No matter where you go, it's all still behind a paywall, with a big ugly 'skip trial' banner - which is just a lame euphemism for 'Pay us $20.' Not to mention search function is worse than early internet browsers. 'No results' with the slightest typo. Search doesn't even work anyway. It always makes you scroll down an alphabetical list to 2 find music lol
Very terrible app. Pretty much forces you to make an account and subscribe in order to do the most basic things. Downloading, making a library & playlist, favoriting an artist are all things that REQUIRE a subscription. I paid for the music, I should be able to download it right after that, but instead you are forced to jump through hoops. Like, I don't even have access to the music ANYWHERE unless I use this app.
