So here's my take on NZ Topo50 Offline - South. I've tested a bunch of outdoor navigation apps and this one's right up there. The maps look great, the features are robust, and it works flawlessly offline. And in my experience, the GPS and tracking tools are super accurate. The only downside is the interface can be a bit unintuitive at first, but you get used to it. Overall, I'd say this is a must-have for Kiwi adventurers.

I’ve been using NZ Topo50 Offline – South for a couple months now. It’s basically a set of offline topographic maps covering the entire South Island of New Zealand. Pretty solid app if you’re into hiking, biking, hunting, or just exploring the backcountry.

Here’s what you can do: you can pan and zoom around the maps without needing a cell signal, which is super handy. There’s also GPS positioning, track logging, and the ability to add your own waypoints. And you can create routes and get distance/bearing info – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you spend time in the Kiwi outdoors, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI is a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need high-quality offline maps.

Super good. My wish would be that we could switch on overlays with general public land parcels such as DOC areas (not just hunting areas), and also regional reserves and...

Works well. Would really love the ability to download high res satellite overlay for smaller areas. Zoming in on the current satellite image can be poor quality to see small...

Gps and tracking is very accurate. Topographic map is OK. There should be an option to change from "north up" to "track up". Also being able to create way points...
