Very customisable app. Loads up nice and quickly and connects to my Bluetooth obd module. I have been using it on my Renault Clio mk2, 2003 to keep and eye on engine temperature, fuel consumption and trip distance, it seems to be 100% correct. It's interesting to see what info is displayed in the app, without this app, I wouldn't have any idea what is going on with my engine. Also it tells you how many miles/km's you drove on a particular day/week like an insight to one's driving.
Reviews for Obd Mary – Car Scanner for ELM
← Back to Obd Mary – Car Scanner for ELMWorks great! I went through about 10 apps trying to find an OBD2 scanner that'd let me do a basic scan for free, and this one fits the bill, plus letting you view a bunch of extra diagnostic info.
App starts with ads which doesn't allow you to close it and you have to wait for several ads to be displayed. This app advertise that you can scan ABS system but there is not such a feature. Disappointing.
I find that this app is the best way to actually find out what's going on with your engine.I also has some really cool amenities like keeping track of your trips and recording statistics on different mechanical operations.
For free software, this is very impressive. I have been using this with a cheap OBD reader to monitor the pressure drop across my DPF (particulate filter). There area vast number of parameters that can be measured, so is possible to work out what is going on in the engine.
Really great app. It reads and lists out everything in a simple and understandable way.
fantastic and efficient app. the application for Ur scanner is easy to follow and understand as well as the ability to quickly change car profiles if looking at multiple vehicles that are a different model. could not fault this app thank you !!! you have helped save me hundreds by understanding what's wrong with my car.
overall a good easy to read user interface. Will update after I start getting more into the app functionality.
The free edition gives you more than most of the other scanner apps but the paid edition is significantly better. The MPG function is my favorite since it calculated it in real time to save you money. The money you save with this app will pay for it many times over!!
TOTALLY CUSTOMIZABLE! Does far more than expected, and does it well 😃 My old Vauxhall Astra has no temperature guage so I thought I'd get one of these ELM devices. Tried a few other OBD-2 apps, all offered very little but this one tells me just about EVERYTHING you'd want to know - Engine temperature, revs, fuel consumption, distance per trip, speed and a few more PLUS it sends you a daily and weekly report! The only OBD app you'll ever need.
Simple, easy to use, and packed with features. I've been using this on my Subaru to monitor diagnostics and track trip performance. It not only helps read and clear engine codes, but also gives valuable insights into the car’s health—offering peace of mind without costly trips to the mechanic.
can't pay with card in the app to unlock and get rid of adds... App looks fine so fare, but the adds drives me crazy 😧
my transporter had a fault and found the app easy to use and would definitely be using this in the future. others apps didn't work but this one was perfect for the job
Great app! I was able to diagnose and repair both my Ford focus and my Fiat 500. The app is easy to use with an intuitive interface and good functionality. I am using a generic elm wifi interface from aliexpress.
Stupid ad. got to shut and restart the program, when the ad jumps on screen. With these prices I'll rather go and buy an OBD device and don't use any Android program.
works but for fuel rail pressure it's in Pa with 7 decimal places and e7 so off screen and unreadable. Lazy coding, like measuring NY to LA in inches. kPa, MPa or Bar with just 1 or 2 decimals would be better. Nevertheless it connected up where other apps wouldn't.
Handy app but buggy. Nice options for gauge design and lots of customization options. But paid version still shows ads, and keeps reloading the dashboard over itself. Some gauges show zero or NaN after a while, then you have to reconnect. Screen doesn't always fit properly so some info ends up behind the top bar or interface buttons. Keeps trying to connect after car is off, killing battery unless force closed. Still probably the best ELM scanner I've used, but could be much more polished.
Best, mostly free app to pair with an OBD scanner in a car. Tried a few apps and this one gave the most functionality for free and has a lot of features in the full version. Even the price to get the full version is very reasonable compared to the other apps available and I'll likely be paying for that very soon!
There are many good OBD apps available, but OBD Mary is just a bit better than the rest. Better UI, better features, better performance. I especially like how much better the free version is than the free versions of the other OBD apps. You don't "need" to upgrade from the free version, but if you can, you should! My 2012 Mazda is starting to show it's age, and I wanted to more closely monitor its performance and also check the error codes that occasionally pop up then go away.
My Samsung Galaxy S21 complains about this app "overloading the system" every day when it's not even in use. It'll hit 25% CPU utilization. Maybe it's the periodic report feature that does that. If so, it should do the work incrementally and break it apart into small chunks so it doesn't hit the processor hard like this. I just want a simple app that reads error codes and tracks car activity automatically. Hopefully this will be fixed. Then this would be a five star app.
